Trump Turns on Military

Related: The Red Mirage

That's what this story is, and it should vanish just as quickly:

President Trump faces uproar over reported remarks disparaging fallen soldiers as ‘losers’ and ‘suckers’

The article comes from hacks Peter Baker and Maggie Haberman of the New York Times, so it's not worth reading, and even "John Bolton, his former national security adviser who has broken with him and called him unfit for office, said he never heard Trump, who heatedly denied making the comments as reported by the magazine, make those remarks. “It’s a fake story, and it’s a disgrace that they’re allowed to do it,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office."

It's the Times' Dan Rather moment, and the page A6 companion articles that came with it were also from the same source (ugh):

Democrats see an opening for winning over military voters

"In an election that will be won on the margins in key battleground states, Democrats are hoping small movements will help, especially in  states like North Carolina, Florida and Arizona, where in 2016 Trump won twice as many voters with a military background than Hillary Clinton did...."

It's Demorat and Deep State dirty politics, and the public will see right through this false tempest in a teapot brought to them by ma$$ media $cum.

Trump Says He Will Reverse Pentagon Plan to Close Newspaper That Informs and Speaks for Troops

Touche, Mr. President.

"The paper has struggled with the same economic challenges of all print  publications in the internet age. Advocates also point out that government funding is required because no newspaper, even in the industry's most successful days, could reliably distribute in war zones without financial assistance. Max Lederer, the publisher of Stars and Stripes since 2007, said the administration's rolling conflict with the news media had given cover to Pentagon officials to move against the publication....."

It's distorted war reporting from the New York Times, and it's nice to see that some things are still normal!

They finally get to be reunited with their mothers unless something torpedos the effort (some of the meat should still make it to Japan).

As we saw with the Skripals, the Russians are the dumbest idiots on the planet!

Their lethal bioweapon doesn't work, and they do a sloppy job disguising their efforts. That is what I am supposed to believe of a great threat to our country.

Netanyahu Privately Condoned U.S. Plan to Sell Arms to U.A.E., Officials Say

He said he opposed the deal in public, the liar, and Trump apparently doesn't want to wrestle with Iran yet.

DHS Braces For “Potential EMP Attack” As Presidential Election Nears

Oooooooooh!

So that is how they plan to take us all down while blaming Russia. The Pravda narrative will be the only available information from the outside world as the power outages will allow mass transportations of people to camps, 'er, permanent shelters, for vaccination and extermination purposes. It will be a dark winter indeed (NOAA wrong again?), no matter who wins the election.

We will be as dark as Africa, in more ways than one:

"On the guidance of President Donald Trump, the State Department said Wednesday the U.S. is suspending some aid to Ethiopia over the “lack of progress” in the country’s talks with Egypt and Sudan over a massive, disputed dam project it is completing on the Nile River. It was an unusual example of Trump’s direct intervention on an issue in Africa, a continent he hasn’t visited as president and rarely mentions publicly. The dam dispute centers on two of Africa’s most populous and powerful nations, Ethiopia and Egypt, and some have feared it could lead to military conflict. It is not clear how many millions of dollars in aid are being affected, or for how long. The decision was taken by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo “based on guidance from the president,” the spokesperson said. Ethiopia this week said it was asking the U.S. for clarification after a media report said Pompeo had approved cutting up to $130 million in aid because of the dam dispute. The report by Foreign Policy last week set off an uproar among some in Ethiopia, which sees the dam as a source of national pride. There was no immediate comment from Ethiopia’s government. Ethiopia’s ambassador to the U.S., Fitsum Arega, this week tweeted that his country is determined to complete the dam, saying that “we will pull Ethiopia out of darkness.” Africa’s largest hydroelectric dam has caused severe tensions with Egypt, which has called it an existential threat and worries that it will reduce the country’s share of Nile waters. Ethiopia says the $4.6 billion dam will be an engine of development that will pull millions of people out of poverty. Sudan, in the middle, worries about the effects on its own dams though it stands to benefit from access to cheap electricity. Pope Francis recently urged Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan to continue talks amid regional concerns about a potential military conflict. The U.S. earlier this year tried to mediate the discussions, but Ethiopia walked away amid accusations that Washington was siding with Egypt. Now the three countries are reporting any progress to the African Union, which is leading negotiations. Ethiopia had said it would fill the dam with or without a deal with Egypt and Sudan. A former U.S. ambassador to Ethiopia, David Shinn, had warned against an aid cut, writing that “playing political hardball with Ethiopia will not only fail to obtain Washington’s desired result but will probably ensure that the Ethiopian diaspora in the United States rallies against Trump. There are sizeable Ethiopian-American communities in key states such as Georgia, Texas, and Virginia.”

That's why foreign policy won't be an issue, and why Biden must change the subject:

Biden says Trump is ignoring workers' plight

He said that at a fund-raiser where he also said “I hope like hell they have a vaccine.”

Their damn 2020 logo is $atanic and now he is hoping to hell the mark of the beast will be here.

Wait until you see who is working the polls on election day:

"The NBA and NFL are making arenas and stadiums available for voting sites. Some teams are even paying workers to staff early-voting locations, and a newly formed group called Power the Polls -- whose backers include Microsoft, Patagonia and MTV -- is recruiting a new generation of poll workers: younger, less vulnerable to Covid-19 and more technically adept than those who have long operated democracy's basic machinery. Employees, customers, students, off-duty National Guard members and even entire professions are being corralled to staff polling places and keep them from closing. Nationally, LeBron James, the Los Angeles Lakers star, last week launched a multimillion-dollar outreach effort to recruit poll workers. Power the Polls started in June and has a $2 million social-media budget. It's been pitched by Trevor Noah on “The Daily Show” as well as online, at rallies, on campuses and by volunteer organizations. It's backed by a long list of businesses that are both funding the outreach and leveraging their own employees as poll workers. The list includes ViacomCBS Inc., Patagonia Inc., Starbucks Corp., Lyft Inc., Uber, Warby Parker Retail Inc., Verizon Communications Inc., Microsoft Corp., Zillow Group Inc. and Old Navy Inc. Some are giving employees paid time off to work the polls on Nov. 3, in addition to whatever local election agencies pay....."

There is your real election interference, not the Russians, and it $ure looks like corporate communi$m to me!

The Globe wants to make mail-in voting permanent because the voters have spoken and voting by mail is a winner (no worries of Russian interference or fraud at all despite what they printed yesterday), and it looks like Trump will be DOA on November 3rd according to the veterans (newly minted like Harris) the Globe dug up.

The problem is, rather than cut Trump down they have awoken a sleeping giant and the Globe should take its own advice. As they skate along, they should remember that a stunning loss can be a good thing because you lick your wounds and move on and get back up to the plate to start anew.

What was visibility noticeable in today's Globe was the relative sparse coverage regarding police brutality protests:

Families of loved ones killed by police demand accountability, reopened cases, independent investigations

It's the Root family, who are white, and they were flanked by people of color, who statistics show are disproportionately likely to be killed by police.

They asked a Rockport musician to join the ceremony, but he declined and went tide-pooling instead.

"Police and the mayor in Maine’s largest city said Friday they’ve been made aware of “troubling social media activity” in advance of a racial justice protest and they are calling for a peaceful demonstration. Portland is expected to be the site of a demonstration on Saturday against the shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wis., by police. Portland Police Chief Frank Clark and Mayor Kate Snyder said Friday the city must be the site of calm, despite tensions surrounding the protests. “The city and department are committed to ensuring the Constitutional rights of any individual or group to gather in order to peacefully and lawfully protest,” the city said in a statement. The demonstration is expected to draw a few hundred people. Organizers have used a Facebook announcement to ask residents to “join us at this protest to stand up against injustice.” They’ve also called for social distancing and mask use (AP)."

That's the other Portland, not the notorious one, and I'm glad the government approves!

"Public health authorities have now linked three COVID-19 deaths to a wedding last month in the Penobscot County town of Millinocket. A spokesman for the Maine Centers for Disease Control said Friday via e-mail that the agency “has confirmed a third death linked to the ongoing outbreak investigation of an Aug. 7 wedding and reception in the Millinocket region.” Further information about the third person who died wasn’t immediately available."

Don't get married in Maine, but go protest.

Don't try Connecticut, either:

"A Democratic-controlled special committee of Connecticut legislative leaders voted Friday to extend Democratic Governor Ned Lamont’s emergency powers until Feb. 9, following a pointed partisan debate where Republicans argued changes need to be made six months into the coronavirus pandemic. On a party-line vote of 6-4, the panel defeated a Republican motion to block the extension of powers granted to Lamont under the public health emergency he issued in March. Lamont’s powers were set to expire on Sept. 9. Democratic lawmakers linked Lamont’s ability to make quick decisions using his authority under public health emergency and civil preparedness orders with the state’s current low rate of infection. It’s been roughly around 1 percent for weeks. They argued that putting an end to his powers suddenly would end something that’s working well (AP)."

Looks like Lamont is cooking up some martial law down there.

"A suspect has been arrested in connection with a homicide in the Worcester County town of Barre, authorities said Friday. The suspect was identified as Robert Leger, 71, of 113 Town Farm Road, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early Jr.’s office. Leger was scheduled to be arraigned in East Brookfield District Court Friday afternoon. State Police spokesman Dave Procopio said local police and state troopers responded to Town Farm Road Friday morning and secured the scene. “The scene is secured and is being processed by the State Police Crime Scene Services Section,” Procopio wrote in an e-mail. “There is no threat to public safety.” No details about the victim or the circumstances were immediately available."

Then they got their man, huh?
