Sunday Insult Series: Inside the American Mind

"In fact, the main reason the unemployment rate declined last month was because hundreds of thousands of people, some discouraged by their failed job searches, left the labor force"

(Blog editor just shaking his head in jaded outrage)

Translation: Their unemployment ran out.

Yeah, you failed,
AmeriKan worker, even though this dog shit press lies to you every day.

"A fall in joblessness, a rise in hope; Unemployment dip considered a hint recovery starting" by Jeannine Aversa, Associated Press | August 8, 2009

WASHINGTON - Employers laid off far fewer workers in July, the jobless rate unexpectedly dipped for the first time in 15 months, and workers’ hours and pay edged upward, the clearest signs yet the recession might be ending.

Those are the kind of figures that could give Americans the psychological boost necessary for recovery to take root after the worst recession since World War II, some analysts said.

Gee, just a day or so ago it was since the Great Depression, but whose really paying attention.

A net total of 247,000 jobs were lost last month, the fewest in a year and a drastic improvement from the 443,000 that vanished in June.

And that is the GOOD NEWS!

Yup, LESS WATER coming into the boat, Cap'n Smith, so you can RECALL the LIFEBOATS!

The Labor Department’s report yesterday showed that the unemployment rate dropped a notch to 9.4 percent in July, from 9.5 percent the previous month. Together with slight increases in the average workweek and wages, the new figures suggested the economy is in a transition from recession to recovery.

Oh, the GOVERNMENT SAID! I'll WAIT for the REVISED LIE, thank you!

“The worst may be behind us,’’ President Obama said. “Today, we’re pointed in the right direction.’’

The news sent stock indexes soaring to their highs for the year....

But somehow that 401k is still s***, huh, 'murkn?

The latest numbers brought total jobs lost since the recession began in December 2007 to about 6.7 million, the biggest decline in any post-World War II recession.

Then why did you take ten months to tell us, MSM, and why did you once again only go back to WWII?

Also, the White House warned the jobless rate is still expected to reach 10 percent, and with companies from Boeing Co. to Verizon Communications Inc. continuing to cut costs, any rebound in hiring may not come until 2010....

Can you see anger in there?

Other analysts say companies will keep cutting jobs probably through the rest of this year, though the pace of layoffs should continue to taper off. The beginnings of recovery could actually push the unemployment rate higher, since far more people would be energized to look for work again.

And BANKS MADE BILLIONS last quarter!

I'm SO SICK of being INSULTED with this HORSESHIT and IT'S ENDING TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

In fact, the main reason the unemployment rate declined last month was because hundreds of thousands of people, some discouraged by their failed job searches, left the labor force. The labor force includes only those who are either employed or are looking for work.

But that's a GOOD THING, f***ers?!!!!!

If laid-off workers who have given up looking for new jobs or have settled for part-time work are included, the unemployment rate would have been 16.3 percent in July. All told, 14.5 million were out of work in July. Job-seekers are finding it harder to get work because there are so few openings....

And check out the collection of NAUGHTY WORDS that EXPOSE the MSM for the s***s they are:

Yet the improvements in July could give some businesses the confidence to hire again. And consumers, less anxious about losing jobs, could respond by spending more freely.

If people and companies think the worst is behind them - and it probably is - their confidence will be restored,’’ said Richard Yamarone, economist at Argus Research. “That confidence can feed on itself.’’

When I was in college, the writing instructors told me those were BAD, BAD WORDS for a REPORT! And YET here they are in my NEWSPAPER EVERY DAY in DROVES!!!!!

With companies feeling a bit better about the economy’s prospects, employees got to work more hours and saw their paychecks grow. The average work week rose to 33.1 hours, after having fallen to 33 hours in June, the lowest in records dating to 1964. That increase could signal new hiring later on because companies typically ask their existing staff to work longer hours before they decide to hire more people. Average hourly earnings rose to $18.56 in July from $18.53 in June.

Because you were worked harder, slave.

And IMAGINE what the DROP would have been had the BANK BILLIONS in BONUSES and PAY had been excluded.

"Analog to close Cambridge site next month; Chipmaker’s move will cost 120 jobs in ‘brutal downturn’" by Hiawatha Bray, Globe Staff | August 8, 2009

Chipmaker Analog Devices Inc. of Norwood will shut down its Cambridge manufacturing facility next month, at a cost of 120 jobs.

Spokeswoman Maria Tagliaferro said the job cuts were the result of a previously announced plan to consolidate production at Analog’s Wilmington plant.

“We have set job preservation as a key priority in all our decision-making through this brutal economic downturn,’’ Tagliaferro said. “Yet it has been unavoidable in some cases.’’

I have some ideas for them: Sunday Insult Series: The AmeriKan Worker

The closure will eliminate a major manufacturer from the Cambridge tax rolls, but Susan Glazer, the city’s deputy director for community development, said it won’t cause major problems. “It’s one company out of many that we have in the city,’’ she said. “I’m sure there will be an impact, but I wouldn’t say it’s significant.’’ Glazer said that despite the recession, electronics and biotechnology companies have continued to expand operations in Cambridge.

You guys just can't help but lie, can you?

"Obama trumpets signs of improvement; Jobless rate dips; GOP criticizes economic policies" by Globe Staff and Associated Press | August 8, 2009

WASHINGTON - President Obama, armed with welcome - and somewhat surprising - evidence of an economic recovery, declared yesterday that “the worst may be behind us.’’

Yeah, from his own lying government!

While many economists predicted, and White House officials feared, that the jobless rate would top 10 percent for July, the national rate declined slightly to 9.4 percent last month from the 26-year high of 9.5 percent in June - the first decrease since April 2008. The Labor Department reported that employers cut 247,000 jobs, the fewest in a year.

“Today, we’re pointed in the right direction,’’ Obama said in brief remarks in the Rose Garden hours after the unemployment report. “While we’ve rescued our economy from catastrophe, we’ve also begun to build a new foundation for growth.’’

He asserted that job losses are at half the rate when he took office in the worst recession since the Great Depression and noted that a week ago, the government reported that the economy shrank by just 1 percent in the second quarter, also better than forecast.

Still, there were 14.5 million Americans out of work in July, and if those who have given up looking for a job or who have been forced to take part-time work are counted, the rate was 16.3 percent in July. The White House said that the president still expects unemployment to hit 10 percent sometime later this year.

“As far as I’m concerned, we will not have a true recovery until we stop losing jobs,’’ Obama said, vowing not to rest until “every American that is looking for a job can find one.’’

That mean I have to go to India or China?

As the unemployment rate rose steadily and stubbornly month after month, Obama’s job approval ratings and Americans’ confidence in his handling of the economy have dropped. The opposite can be expected to happen if the jobless numbers keep declining.

Pfft! Setting up some bogus poll numbers are we, MSM?

It's MORE than just the ECONOMY, ding dongs!

It's the NO CHANGE "change" that has us all boiling!

Yesterday, the president used the new jobs figures not only to continue his defense of the already passed $787 billion stimulus package but also to press for sweeping policy changes on healthcare, education, and energy that he seeks.

CUI BONO?

“We can’t afford to return an economy based on inflated returns and maxed-out credit cards,’’ he added. “It won’t be easy. . . . We have a steep mountain to climb and we started in a very deep valley.’’

He's something! After his $787 billion giveaway and wanting a pile more to give to drug companies and the like? Pffft!

Representative George Miller of California and Senator Edward M. Kennedy of Massachusetts, the Democrats who lead the House and Senate labor committees, respectively, said that the numbers showed that Obama’s economic recovery plan is working and saving jobs.

I don't even like Democrats anymore (and I used to be one). I see Democrat or a D and I already know they are talking horse s*** so why bother?

But they said that Congress should consider extending unemployment insurance when it returns to work next month. “More than 5 million Americans have been looking for work for more than six months, without success,’’ they said in a joint statement. “We must do more to help these working families keep food on their tables and hope in their hearts’’

Then END the DAMN WARS NOW!!!!!!!!!!!

Republicans, however, didn’t see much encouragement in the jobs report, noting that the White House had once predicted that the stimulus plan would prevent unemployment from breaching 8 percent, and continued their criticism of Obama and Democrats for their economic policies.

“While President Obama was taking a victory lap to celebrate the economy’s performance, more Americans lost their jobs and the budget deficit soared to a record $1.3 trillion in July,’’ Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele said in a statement.

Yeah, whatever. I'm tired of the take-turn s*** fooleys of AmeriKa's War Party "democracy."
