"Slow-moving storm batters the Midwest; Snow and ice cover highways, ground flights" by Patrick Condon, Associated Press | December 25, 2009
MINNEAPOLIS - A blustery storm spread snow and ice across the heartland yesterday as Americans rushed to get home for the holidays, grounding flights, stranding drivers on white-knuckle highways, and forcing churches to cancel Christmas Eve services.

“I don’t think God wants anyone to get killed or break a hip or break a knee or something,’’ said the Rev. Joseph Mirowski of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Transfiguration in Mason City, Iowa, where up to a foot of snow and sleet was expected.
I think God is ALSO SENDING the GLOBALIST GAS-BAGS of GLOBAL WARMING a MESSAGE: STOP LYING!
A foot or two of snow was forecast in parts of the Plains and the Midwest by today.
And WINTER JUST STARTED!!
Blizzard warnings were issued for Minnesota, North Dakota, Kansas, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, and Wisconsin, and drivers were encouraged to pack emergency kits before setting out during what is normally one of the busiest travel periods of the year.
A BLIZZARD in TEXAS?
The storm was also expected to cover highways in the East with ice today.
It may be a short, quick trip across the region for me today.
Slippery roads were blamed for at least 14 deaths this week as the slow-moving storm made its way across the country from the Southwest.
That is what BOTHERS ME the MOST, readers.
THE FART-MISTING LIES are FATAL!!
Since Tuesday, icy roads have been blamed for accidents that killed at least seven people in Nebraska, four in Kansas, one each in Minnesota and Oklahoma, and one near Albuquerque.
High winds blowing snow across icy roads were a concern elsewhere. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol closed eastbound Interstate 40 in El Reno after numerous accidents, and the state’s National Guard was activated to rescue motorists stranded by collisions or spinouts along the H.E. Bailey Turnpike, which runs to the Texas state line.
Yeah, GLOBAL WARMING, right!
Governor Rick Perry of Texas activated military personnel to help drivers, while Governor John Hoeven of North Dakota placed additional state troopers and the National Guard on standby.
Winds gusted to 40 miles per hour in central Kansas, and up to 60 miles per hour were forecast in Oklahoma. “The wind is killer, especially when you’re empty,’’ trucker Jim Reed said during a stop in Omaha, Neb. “Anything that’s boxed, like a refrigerator trailer like I have, becomes like a giant sail in the wind.’’
Tony Glaum of Leavenworth, Kan., said he is looking forward to a white Christmas: “I think snow would be pretty nice.’’
Not me.
Blame the media, readers.
You get what you deserve on Christmas, liars.

Unfortunately, I went outside this morning:
QUINCY - Paul F. Moore of Milton was found dead on a snow-covered sidewalk early yesterday, the victim of a hit-and-run, police say.
:-(
Anyone check for sleigh tracks?
I type that with the UTMOST ANGER and SARCASM, readers, with NO HINT of JEST at all because THIS IS NOT FUNNY!!
This has me ANGRY on Xmas morning -- and I haven't even dealt with the pin-headed relatives yet.
Moore, 63, was homeless, according to police. His former residence, at 8 Houghton Road, is boarded up, and on a white picket fence at the end of the driveway a red sign cautions that the spacious white home is under surveillance.
An ASHAMED VICTIM of FORECLOSURE?
And BANKERS got BILLIONS in BONUSES!!!
His family, who lives in another house about a minute’s walk away, declined to comment yesterday on when and how Moore came to live on the streets.
WTF?
Quincy’s police chief, Paul Keenan, said yesterday at a news conference that the driver was probably aware he or she had hit someone or something. “There should be extensive damage to a vehicle that would indicate that he or she should have known something was struck,’’ Keenan said. “If there’s anyone out there that has information on that or would like to come forward, we’d be more than willing to talk to them and hear their side.’’
At the scene, Keenan said, police found fragments of the vehicle, believed to be a pickup truck or an SUV, and other evidence that he would not disclose. No arrests have been made. Moore’s body was discovered about a mile from his former residence after a man called police at 7:14 a.m. Moore suffered severe trauma to his upper torso, police said. An autopsy is being performed to determine the exact cause of death.
Sidewalks on both sides of the street had been cleared after the latest snowstorm, leaving foot-high snowbanks. But about a quarter-inch of packed snow covered the pavement where Moore’s body was found. Police drew on the snow with orange paint, in stick-figure fashion, to mark the spot. Police said it is not clear where Moore was walking, where he was headed, or the precise time he was hit.
Some residents speculated that Moore may have sought a less-slippery surface and decided to walk on the street. Many residents complained that drivers often speed on the street, a popular cut-through. A woman who asked to be identified by only her first name, Jodi, said she looked out of her second-floor window early yesterday and saw a body, covered in a light-colored sheet, on the sidewalk in front of her house, and police officers on the scene....
Oh, Merry Xmas morning looking out the window, huh?
Nice going, Boston!

Am I the only one?
Somehow I'm losing my merriness by the minute -- a common occurrence every single morning when I begin reading my Boston Globe.
Boston police are investigating the death of a woman, apparently in her 30s, whose body was found Wednesday night inside a large cloth bag in East Boston.
Police are still trying to figure out the identity of the woman, who appears to be the victim of a homicide.... The body was found about 7:20 p.m. Wednesday by a neighbor on Princeton Street, a quiet, residential area with well-kept single-family homes and three-decker houses bedecked with wreaths and inflatable Christmas decorations. The body had been left in a small alley next to 89 Princeton St., a maroon three-decker. The woman’s wrists had been bound and she had a tattoo of a dragon on her neck, one of the officials said....

Now I have to go unwrap presents?
Sigh.
