Taliban Planning Preemptive Strike in Kandahar

Just using that old U.S. philosophy, right?

They can see the attack coming.

"UN warns its staffers after attacks" by Noor Khan, Associated Press | April 27, 2010

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan — A wave of violence sweeping the southern city of Kandahar has forced the United Nations to tell more than 200 of its Afghan employees to stay home, a UN official said yesterday. Several foreign UN employees were temporarily moved to Kabul.

The announcement came hours after three bombings — one aimed at a top police official — shook the city and left two civilians dead....

The UN has been on the defensive in Afghanistan since last October, when three suicide attackers stormed a Kabul guest house where dozens of staffers lived, killing five UN employees and three Afghans. The three assailants died during the siege.

UN officials said yesterday that an inside investigation has found that four of the five staff members may have died because of friendly fire from Afghan security forces. A final report by a four-member outside panel suggested that the four were mistaken for Taliban insurgents during the Oct. 28 episode.

Yeah, WE DON'T KNOW WHO WE are BLOWING AWAY over there it is just a FIRE-AWAY ATTITUDE!! They were who?

Also yesterday, a NATO airstrike killed the Taliban “shadow governor’’ of Kunduz province, Mullah Yar Mohammed, also known as Noor Mohammed, as he was traveling in a vehicle with three advisers north of Kunduz city, provincial spokesman Mabobullah Sayedi said.

Oh, is that what they are claiming?

See: Who Did Die in Those Pakistani Missile Strikes?

Yeah, I'll never believe a MSM report on who was killed ever again.

KABUL, Afghanistan — Former Afghan commanders who toppled a Soviet-backed regime 18 years ago were no-shows at a national celebration yesterday marking their victory, a boycott that revealed fractures in the Afghan government as it tries to close ranks on Taliban insurgents.

The ceremony, at a heavily guarded sports stadium, was a display of the nation’s growing security force. Police and soldiers, clad in crisp uniforms and shiny helmets, marched in formation as more than a dozen attack helicopters and other aircraft flew low over the crowd. Men and women injured in the conflict, including amputees on crutches, joined the crowd in the reviewing stand.

Yeah, Afghanistan is going so well.

But it was who didn’t come that was telling....

That message was clearly conveyed on a bright blue banner carried by relatives of the estimated 1.5 million Afghans who died in the conflict from late 1979 until 1992.

Yeah, thanks for getting that all going, CIA and U.S., so Russia could have its own Vietnam.

Thanks for creating Al-CIA-Duh, hey!!!

“The participation of mujahedin in political, cultural and social affairs will strengthen the pillars of the government,’’ it said, referring to the anti-Soviet fighters....

Many former guerrilla leaders who battled the Soviets and their Afghan allies feel isolated from the Karzai government, which has been under Western pressure to distance itself from some of the former guerrilla chiefs who became warlords after the communist regime collapsed.

“The mujahedin leaders are disappointed,’’ said Ahmad Shah Ahmadzai, former interior minister and deputy prime minister in the mujahedin government. “The holy war fighters freed Afghanistan from Russia, but in this government they have no space.

“This government has been made for Westerners and it is not representative of the Afghan nation,’’ said Ahmadzai, who did not attend the event. “Afghans should not be proud of this government.’’

No one should be proud of any government.

The Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan in December 1979, killing the Moscow-backed leader and installing another to stop infighting within the government.

"According to the official version of history, CIA aid to the Mujahadeen began during 1980, that is to say, after the Soviet army invaded Afghanistan, 24 Dec 1979. But the reality, secretly guarded until now, is completely otherwise. That secret operation was an excellent idea. It had the effect of drawing the Soviets into the Afghan trap…. The day that the Soviets officially crossed the border, I wrote to President Carter “We now have the opportunity of giving to the Soviet Union its Vietnam War.”"

Yes, YOUR PAPERS LIE TO YOU about HISTORY, dear Americans!

THEY LIE ALL the TIME!!!!!!!

After a decade of fighting against guerrillas, who were getting financial and military backing from the United States, the Soviets withdrew in 1989.

Still are, folks.

The government that the Soviets left behind collapsed in 1992 when the guerrillas seized Kabul. Rebel leaders then fell out among themselves, triggering a civil war that paved the way for the Taliban, which ruled from Kabul from 1996 until the US-led invasion five years later.

Reminder:

"The U.S. government was well aware of the Taliban's reactionary program, yet it chose to back their rise to power in the mid-1990s. The creation of the Taliban was "actively encouraged by the ISI and the CIA," according to Selig Harrison, an expert on U.S. relations with Asia. "The United States encouraged Saudi Arabia and Pakistan to support the Taliban, certainly right up to their advance on Kabul," adds respected journalist Ahmed Rashid. When the Taliban took power, State Department spokesperson Glyn Davies said that he saw "nothing objectionable" in the Taliban's plans to impose strict Islamic law, and Senator Hank Brown, chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on the Near East and South Asia, welcomed the new regime: "The good part of what has happened is that one of the factions at last seems capable of developing a new government in Afghanistan." "The Taliban will probably develop like the Saudis. There will be Aramco [the consortium of oil companies that controlled Saudi oil], pipelines, an emir, no parliament and lots of Sharia law. We can live with that," said another U.S. diplomat in 1997."

No kidding?

Once again the MSM OBFUSCATES at BEST, dear readers!!!

Ibrahim Malikzadai, former top jihad commander and now a member of parliament in Ghor province, said the commanders should have participated in the celebration of their victory if only to show that the role of the mujahedin isn’t forgotten.

They need not worry about that.

"Tribal elder killed in Afghanistan; Taliban shoot him for ‘dealing with Americans’" by Mirwais Khan, Associated Press | May 5, 2010

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan — A tribal elder was gunned down yesterday while he was shopping in Kandahar, the latest targeted killing ahead of a NATO-led operation here that will be a critical test of the Afghan war.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, saying Hayat Khan was “dealing with Americans and working against us.’’ Khan was a member of a district shura, a traditional meeting of elders and community leaders called upon to solve local issues, said Zulmai Ayubi, a spokesman for the Kandahar provincial governor.

The attack highlights the challenges facing NATO forces ahead of a US-led operation planned for this summer that aims to clear Kandahar of Taliban fighters. Kandahar is the largest city in the south and the birthplace of the Taliban, which still have considerable support here.

NATO reported two of its service members died in southern Afghanistan on Monday, one in a roadside bombing, the other in a vehicle accident, bringing the number of international soldiers killed in May to six.

See: Afghan Aloha, AmeriKa!

Also yesterday, more than 20 students at a girls’ school in the capital, Kabul, were briefly hospitalized after what officials said was a suspected poison gas attack by militants who oppose education for girls.

See: Afghanistan's Girl's Schools Stink

“This is the work of those who don’t want Afghan people to get an education and find their way toward development, progress, and a life of happiness,’’ President Hamid Karzai said in a statement.

And anyone wanting to make "Taliban" look bad.

There have been similar cases of mass illness in the past, including last month in the northern province of Kunduz.

I don't recall reading about that in my newspaper.

Some believe the illnesses could be cases of mass hysteria in areas threatened by the Taliban and their militant allies.

Yeah, you are ALL CRAZY, Afghans!!

I'm SMELLING a FALSE FLAG, that's what I'm smelling.

They also could be the result of accidental poisonings, such as from fertilizers....

WTF?

The looming offensive and the ongoing crime and insecurity have rattled the city’s half million inhabitants, who are deeply skeptical of Western promises....

Well, when SOMEONE NEVER KEEPS THEM and was just saying it to get what they want HOW WOULD YOU REACT?

Also yesterday, a former member of the women’s affairs department in southern Zabul Province was fatally shot, said Mohammad Jan Rasoulyar, a spokesman for the provincial governor. Police were investigating.

In Kunduz yesterday, Taliban militants killed two civilians they accused of spying for the government, said Muhbobullah Sayedi, a spokesman for the provincial governor.

KABUL — Taliban suicide bombers disguised as police attacked a government compound yesterday in southwestern Afghanistan in an assault that left 13 people dead, including a provincial council member and all nine attackers, authorities said.

You SURE they were NOT BLACKWATER?

Eight of the bombers blew themselves up, and police shot the ninth, President Hamid Karzai’s office said.

Oh, okay.

The Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, which came as the provincial council was meeting in Zaranj, the capital of Nimroz province. The militant group said the council was trying to turn Afghans against the militants.

Uh-huh.

Insurgents have carried out coordinated suicide attacks on government and aid installations in the past to strike a blow against NATO and Afghan attempts to counter the insurgency. This summer, a US-led military operation will try to clear the southern city of Kandahar of Taliban fighters in what will be a critical test of the war.

Many insurgents fled to Nimroz province, which is farther west and along the border with Iran, earlier this year when troops conducted an offensive to rout the Taliban from neighboring Helmand province. Nimroz is also a major trafficking route for Afghanistan’s huge opium trade.

Yeah, somehow Iran is all tied up in this and the drugs, yup.

PFFFFFFTTT!!!

In yesterday’s hourlong attack, nine suicide bombers wearing Afghan National Police uniforms tried to infiltrate the provincial governor’s compound where the Nimroz council was meeting, said provincial police chief General Abdul Jabar Pardeli. Police became suspicious and fired on them, Pardeli said.

The suicide bombers then began to blow themselves up or fire back, prompting blasts and gunbattles....

Police also found a car packed with explosives near the compound, which houses a court, the governor’s offices, and a guest house, Azad said. The Interior Ministry said the car bomb was defused before it could explode.

Honestly, I have really had it with the false flag attacks.

"Afghan militants renew attacks, signaling end of poppy crop harvest" by Sebastian Abbot, Associated Press | May 8, 2010

GHUNDY GHAR, Afghanistan — The gunfire and explosions echoing across this Taliban-infested district in southern Afghanistan yesterday signaled the end of the opium poppy harvest as militants again turned their attention from agriculture to attacking NATO and Afghan forces.

US Army soldiers perched on this small hilltop base in Kandahar Province’s Zhari district had a ringside seat to the early morning fighting. It snapped a lull in violence that had lasted almost three weeks while the Taliban focused on taxing the poppy crop, one of their main sources of revenue.

Related: WHAT OUR CHILDREN ARE DYING FOR IN AFGHANISTAN

Yeah, the "Taliban" were clearing the crop, yup.

Why is it ONE LIE AFTER ANOTHER in YOUR NEWSPAPER, America?

Building up resources is especially important for the Taliban this year as NATO is ramping up its latest military operation in Kandahar, the group’s spiritual heartland. Military commanders have characterized the Kandahar mission as the make-or-break battle of the nearly nine-year-old war....

Spiritual birthplace, spiritual heartland, make-or-break offensive.

Can't you guys find something new to write?

No wonder I am repeating myself all the time.

"Taliban threaten new Afghan offensive" by Deb Riechmann, Associated Press | May 9, 2010

KABUL — In an attempt to steal the spotlight from Afghan President Hamid Karzai’s trip to Washington, the Taliban yesterday threatened to launch a series of attacks across Afghanistan — a move the defense minister quickly dismissed as propaganda.

No, that would be an AmeriKan newspaper.

The Taliban said their spring offensive, targeting Afghan and NATO military and staff plus foreign contractors, would begin tomorrow — the same day that Karzai begins meetings in Washington. A statement in English posted on the group’s website said the offensive dubbed al-Faath, which means victory, would include “ambushes, detonations of explosive devices, assassinations of government officials, suicide bombings, and detainment of foreign invaders.’’

HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!!!

Another FALSE FLAG SET UP from some CIA PUKE or WHO GIVES a SHIT WHAT!

Prop 101: Al-CIA-Duh's Greatest Hits

Prop 101: The "Terrorism" Business

New York Times Admits War on Terror is U.S. Creation

Yup, IN ENGLISH on the WEBSITE, right!!!

The defense minister, General Abdul Rahim Wardak, dismissed the threat, saying that the Taliban did not have the capability to launch a series of attacks across the nation.

But they can hit New York City and Times Square?

Moreover, he said, intelligence reports show many of the Taliban commanders currently are in Pakistan....

Oh, that's why.

Thousands of US, NATO and Afghan forces just finished a major offensive to oust the Taliban from central Helmand province in the south. They now are stepping up pressure on the Taliban’s birthplace of Kandahar province.

The Taliban are fighting back with attacks on contractors and government officials. A Taliban spokesman claimed responsibility for killing a former police chief and two of his body guards yesterday.

In Pakistan yesterday, a spokesman for the Taliban said they were set to launch new attacks and had dispatched suicide bombers to the United States. The spokesman, Azam Tariq, said the attacks would avenge US drone bombings in tribal areas.

Oh, so WHEN do the CAR BOMBS START GOING OFF in AmeriKan cities, and WHY IN THE WORLD does the government and mouthpiece MSM think we are going to FALL for SUCH BULLSHIT!!
