Under House Arrest in Massachusetts

Sig heil!

"House backs plan to charge inmates

Massachusetts House lawmakers have approved a proposal to charge prison inmates $5 a day. House lawmakers quickly pushed through the new fee on a 106-to-51 vote late Thursday during their ongoing budget debate. The House decided to take up the issue again yesterday. After a lengthy debate, lawmakers again voted in favor of the fee, by a 93-to-62 margin. Supporters of the proposal say it is one way to help ease the state’s financial burden at a time when it is being forced to make deep cuts to services.

But the TAX SUBSIDIES to LOSER GREEN and BIOTECHS as well as to PROFITABLE HOLLYWOOD continue.

Yeah, budget cuts do not touch them, their pensions, or their perks.

Opponents of the plan say it will make it harder for prisoners to get a foothold in society when they are released and could drive them back to a life of crime (AP)."

Hey, at least the authorities are being well taken care of by taxpayers!
