Your Bangladeshi Brief

Blink and you will miss it for the Globe didn't feature world briefs on its web version that day.

I'm meticulous, readers. You know that.

"Rains leave 17 dead, thousands stranded  DHAKA -- Three days of incessant rains in Bangladesh have left at least 17 people dead and 41 fisherman missing across the southern coast, news reports said yesterday. Tens of thousands of people are stranded as waters triggered by a tidal surge have inundated thousands of homes in the low-lying coastal zone, said the Kaler Kantha daily, quoting officials and witnesses. The Daily Star reported that two teenagers had died in the capital after a wall collapsed on them (Boston Globe October 10 2010)."
