Slow Saturday Special: California Recycling Crib

Usually they call it a bin, but....

"Dead baby found at recycling plant" Associated Press, October 26, 2013

VICTORVILLE, Calif. — An autopsy was planned on a baby girl whose body was found on a conveyor belt by a worker sorting cans and plastics at a California recycling center.

The body was found in a blanket Thursday in Victorville, 85 miles north of Los Angeles.

Homicide detectives were investigating. Authorities said she appeared to be a newborn.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Cindy Bachman said Friday there were few leads in the case.

“No one has come forward to identify the baby,” she said. “There are a lot of questions that can’t be answered.”

Last year, another newborn girl was found in a recycling yard in Los Angeles County.
