Getting Off the T

See: Morning T Ride on the Patrick Prevaricator

Keep digging, guv:

"the governor was unaware.... Aloisi said.... the agency was so in need of new revenue that.... fare increases should be speeded up. But in recent weeks, the administration began painting the increases as the brainchild of Grabauskas"

The pre-adolescent "I didn't know" defense?

Puuuuh-leeeeeze!!!!

I guess when you've lied for so long....

"Effort to raise T fares on hold; Patrick cancels final 12 hearings; Aloisi should go, say some in GOP" by Noah Bierman and Andrea Estes, Globe Staff | August 12, 2009

.... The cancellation was part of another day of drama within the state’s transportation agencies. A senior Patrick aide said the governor was unaware that the MBTA’s recently ousted general manager sought to delay any fare increase and was overridden by Patrick’s own transportation secretary, a scenario outlined in e-mails published by the Globe yesterday.

How weak!!!!!

Republicans called for the ouster of the state transportation secretary, James A. Aloisi Jr., saying he was bringing chaos to a critical area of government. And a key Patrick rival, state Treasurer Timothy P. Cahill, criticized the governor over the $300,000 buyout package extended to the MBTA general manager, Daniel A. Grabauskas.

“We’re in an economic freefall,’’ said Cahill, who has indicated he may challenge Patrick as an independent candidate for governor next year. “We’ve just raised taxes a billion dollars, and for some reason we had to rush to buy this guy out of his contract?’’

Yeah, all because Patrick and his crooked cronies put this in motion.

***********

Patrick’s spokesman Joe Landolfi brushed off calls for Aloisi’s resignation. “Secretary Aloisi is responsible for implementing the comprehensive transportation reform that will reverse decades of neglect and mismanagement by previous administrations, and he maintains the governor’s full support,’’ Landolfi said.

Of course, Aloisi was in the "neglect and mismanagement by previous administrations" up to his neck, but, hey, who is really paying attention anyway, right?

In June, Aloisi said at an MBTA meeting that the agency was so in need of new revenue that public hearings on fare increases should be speeded up. But in recent weeks, the administration began painting the increases as the brainchild of Grabauskas....

Can you BE ANY MORE DISINGENOUS?

It has been clear since June that MBTA fare increases were not an absolute necessity this year, because the Legislature agreed to give the MBTA $160 million a year in added subsidy, almost enough to get by in the budget year that began last month....

Yeah, except....

"Legislators also agreed last week to change legal language in the recently passed sales tax hike to assure credit agencies that $100 million earmarked for the Turnpike Authority would go toward paying off Big Dig debt"

I just wanted you to know why your fares, fees, and taxes went up, Bay-Stater.

Patrick sidestepped questions about the issue yesterday.

“I’m not going to get into a tit for tat with a discredited former manager,’’ Patrick said. “This is not about Dan Grabauskas, try as he might to make it so.’’

Oh, I AGREE!! This is ABOUT YOU, stink-aaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrggggghhhhhh!!!!\

What an ARROGANT..... !!!!

But rivals say the administration has made a series of blunders....

Oh, that's being kind again, Globe.

Aloisi said the administration is drawing criticism because it is shaking up the status quo. Stephen Silveira, a Republican lobbyist and an influential player in transportation, agreed....

You guys are shameless, and you prove what I say everyday.

Oh, my stop. I won't be getting back on....

(whrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr)
