Slow Saturday Special: A Turkey of a Front Page

If you read my last week of posts you would have seen how insulting the Boston Globe has become. It's not even news anymore; it's just double-talking propaganda and outright lies no matter what the issue or article.

That's the beauty of it all: I'm constantly amazed at the further depths they will plumb as they self-destruct.

Keep in mind during this first article that we have men and women dying in faraway places in wars and battles this lying hunk of garbage helped initiate and continue until this very day.

"Town in tears over gadabout gobbler; In Easton, Freddy was mascot and menace" by Peter Schworm, Globe Staff | August 8, 2009

EASTON - An increasing menace to motorists, the beloved bird was shot by police last week, his life tragically cut short by his full-throttle lifestyle and a raft of complaints....

Yesterday, Freddy’s many fans paid their respects at a makeshift memorial with a plastic rooster... and a cardboard sign reading, “RIP Freddy the Turkey’’ at Furnace Brook Motors, one of the turkey’s favorite haunts.....

When the end came for Freddy, many people, like Tom Cudworth, who set up a memorial, were sad.

Police defended their handling of the situation against critics who wanted the turkey relocated. State wildlife officials, an officer said, advised them to euthanize the bird because it might introduce diseases into a new habitat. “We’ve gotten a lot of angry calls,’’ said Sergeant James McAvoy. “People wanted us to relocate him, tranquilize him, give him a college education and free medical care. But he had become a menace.’’

Hey, I love animals, so why did they kill it?

Speaking of turkeys, who would want to buy this bird?

What do they do with turkeys before Thanksgiving, Globe?

.... Platinum has replaced or laid off six of the Union-Tribune’s top eight managers since taking over, and it cut 18 percent, or 192 people, of the staff three days after the deal was completed. It has also hired consultants to monitor the productivity of reporters and editors and is looking to rent out the top two floors of the newspaper’s headquarters.

There are fewer news pages, a stand-alone Sunday opinion section has been eliminated, and some of the paper’s most seasoned journalists are gone. Newsroom staffing is about 200 employees, down from 250 at the time of the sale, and another round of layoffs is expected next week, according to an executive at the newspaper who asked not to be named because he is not authorized to speak for the company.

Oh, Globe employees, did the NEW YORK TIMES ever cut off your d*** and shove it up your you know where!!!!!!!

Related: Newspapers Commit Suicide

Many of these cutbacks were implemented or set in motion by the previous owners of the Union-Tribune, the Copley family, before the paper was sold to Platinum. “The community has already seen such a decline that people feel it can’t become much worse,’’ said Lani Lutar, president of the San Diego County Taxpayers Association, a civic group. “They were hoping things would get better, but the recent reductions in the editorial staff and the size of the paper have been noticeable.’’

But Platinum executives talk about the purchase of the Union-Tribune as a long-term investment, one that depends on good journalism, not just lower operating costs. “We believe the newspaper will thrive long into the future as long as we support a quality product,’’ Louis Samson, the Platinum principal who led the firm’s acquisition, said in an interview with the Union-Tribune in May. “We think the business can be run more effectively. That includes not just containing costs, but attacking revenue opportunities and maximizing the value of the brand and the assets.’’

CHOP, CHOP, bye, GLOBE!!! Ever seen Wall Street by Ollie Stone?

Platinum executives said they are seeing early signs of progress.... But a controversy that arose shortly after the private equity firm took over left some in the community questioning Platinum’s temperament as a newspaper owner....

a culture of sexual harassment at Platinum....

They should fir right in:

"From the moment the Times Co. purchased The Globe in 1993, it has treated New England's largest newspaper like a cheap whore"

*************************

Gores (pronounced “Gore-is’’) is the son of Middle East immigrants who settled in Flint, Mich. He went to school at Michigan State University and made his fortune, estimated at $2 billion by Forbes, by partnering with his brother in private equity investments. He formed Platinum in 1995. Platinum employs 140 people and is investing a $2.75 billion fund raised from pensions and other large investors. It often buys pieces of large Fortune 500 companies....

That's why your 401k is never coming back. They stole all that, 'murka.

While some in the news industry believe Platinum bought the Union-Tribune for its real estate, a person close to the firm suggested that the value of the property, while a big part of their thinking, serves mainly as a backstop in case the business doesn’t live up to its expectations: “That’s part of the hedging process.’’

Uh-oh, Globe employees!!!!!!

"Aloisi promises a better MBTA; Says agency needs new operating model May not replace general manager" by Matt Viser and Andrea Estes, Globe Staff | August 8, 2009

New details emerged on how Governor Deval Patrick’s administration forced the resignation Thursday of Daniel A. Grabauskas as MBTA general manager....

Patrick's Political Scapegoating

Who cares, other than you ONCE AGAIN COST the TAXPAYERS MONEY with YOUR POLITICAL BS!

Critics blasted the settlement with Grabauskas, with one leading lawmaker calling it “totally irresponsible.’’

****************

Grabauskas’s resignation Thursday night may have accomplished one goal Patrick and his aides had long wanted. But it did not unfold the way they had hoped. In a high-stakes stare-down, Grabauskas won a significant payout, $327,487, that Patrick administration officials did not want to pay.

Then WHY DID YOU START IT, dicks?!!

That’s because, during a chaotic, closed-door negotiating session of the MBTA board, administration officials failed to persuade enough board members to fire or put Grabauskas on leave, which would probably have led to a smaller settlement. Once that initial attempt failed, it left the administration - led by Aloisi, chairman of the T board - with only one option to remove Grabauskas: buy out the rest of his contract.

Why do it at all? Jobs done in two months!

Grabauskas's removal has potentially far-reaching political implications. Patrick not only went against many top Democrats who backed Grabauskas, he will now be held responsible for an agency that has been plagued with problems. Meanwhile, some Republicans have been floating Grabauskas’s name as a future statewide GOP candidate.

“I’ve known Dan Grabauskas for years,’’ Republican gubernatorial hopeful Charles D. Baker posted yesterday on his Twitter account. “We need more public servants & tough minded managers like him. Firing him is a mistake.’’

Senate President Therese Murray and House Speaker Robert A. DeLeo, both of whom offered earlier praise for Grabauskas, declined to comment yesterday. But other top lawmakers were angered over the size of the settlement, which comes at a time of severe budget cutbacks.

“It’s financially irresponsible,’’ said Senator Steven C. Panagiotakos, a Democrat who chairs the Senate Committee on Ways and Means. “If you have good cause, fire the guy. If you don’t, let him serve out his time and earn his money. For the taxpayers and toll payers to have to foot this bill is just totally irresponsible.’’

Change that letter to R, will ya?

House Republicans released a statement yesterday defending Grabauskas, calling him “more qualified to run the MBTA than any hack the Patrick/Aloisi team could dig up.’’

“The whole episode was a disgrace; they should be ashamed of themselves,’’ said Senate minority leader Richard R. Tisei, a Wakefield Republican for whom Grabauskas worked in the early 1990s. “For someone who wanted to get rid of people’s cynicism about government, I can’t think of an episode that would make people more cynical than the way Secretary Aloisi and his minions have conducted themselves over the last few weeks.’’

Patrick declined to comment....

Isn't that last bit perfect! Proves what the local Repub said!

The general manager position will be filled temporarily by William Mitchell, the agency’s general counsel, who has been the source of controversy in the past.

Patrick sure can pick 'em, huh?

In 2000, Kevin J. Sullivan, then the transportation secretary, called for Mitchell’s resignation after learning that Mitchell had stayed free-of-charge at a Florida condominium during the 1999 Super Bowl compliments of a convicted racketeer and admitted arsonist.

Oooooops! And THESE S***TERS are MORALIZING to ME?

Mitchell told Sullivan at the time that he was unaware that the man, Francis K. Fraine, had provided the accommodations and said the trip was arranged by someone else.

Yup. How do you know a politician is lying? Lips are movin'.

MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo said yesterday that “Mitchell was completely exonerated’’ after a former federal prosecutor was brought in to investigate the allegations.

Translation: It was covered up.

Grabauskas’s resignation is the third departure of a high-ranking transportation official in eight months, a startling turnover rate during a crucial period in which Patrick has sought to repair the state’s crumbling transportation network and overhaul its bureaucracy.

Alan LeBovidge resigned as Massachusetts Turnpike Authority chief in May, following criticism over lengthy turnpike backups Easter Sunday. Bernard Cohen resigned as transportation secretary in December after administration officials grew frustrated with his political and communication skills.

"Where empty larders find overflowing hearts; Mormons in need turn to church’s food pantry" by Michael Paulson, Globe Staff | August 8, 2009

I'm surprised it's not
pimping Jews. Oh, right, Slow Saturday.

WORCESTER - .... The facility, called a bishop’s storehouse, is a key part of a vast Mormon welfare system that is largely without parallel in the world of religion. And now, in yet another indication of the toll the recession has taken on the United States, usage of Mormon storehouses is up by an estimated 30 percent, according to church officials in Utah and Massachusetts....

It was during the darkest days of the Great Depression that the Mormon church organized its novel system for providing for its neediest members: a vast network of ranches, factories, canneries, grain silos, trucks, thrift stores, employment centers, and food distribution centers.

Mormon culture tends to discourage, but the church does not prohibit, its members from accepting government assistance.... At the heart of the system are the 140 church-funded storehouses of groceries that congregational leaders can distribute to church members in need....

The storehouses do not accept cash.

Yeah, I can see where that might be a problem for the money-changing Zionist controllers.

Related: The World's Best Banking System

Whadda ya know, another group hated by the Zionist banking clan.

The only way to get food and supplies is with a checklist filled out by a Mormon bishop, who is the leader of a Mormon ward, or congregation. The vast majority of the storehouse beneficiaries are Mormons, although bishops can help anyone, and local Mormon congregations are also donating goods from the storehouses to area food pantries to help non-Mormons in need.

Translation: Mormons are not exclusive like some folks we know.

The system is financed by church members who, in addition to tithing, are asked to fast one day a month and contribute the money they would have spent on food that day to the welfare system. The facilities serve not only needy Mormons, but also church members seeking to comply with a church teaching urging them to have enough food on hand to survive for at least three months in the event of a sudden emergency, such as a hurricane, or an unexpected financial setback, such as a layoff. To that end, many of the storehouses, including the one in Worcester, include canning facilities, where Mormons can come to can their own long-term supplies.

Right; the Mormons are hoarding the food and are a little crazy.

That's the message I'm getting from my Zionist paper.

The welfare system and, in particular, the distribution of free food are intended to be used only as a short-term solution by those in need, so the bishops also offer employment counseling, financial planning, English classes, networking, whatever it takes to help a family get back on its feet. And recipients, whenever possible, are expected to give back by volunteering themselves. In Worcester, there is just one full-time employee, and the other workers are volunteers. Some receive food themselves, and others simply choose to help out....

Nice people who get a really bad rap in our Zionist-dominated propaganda system.!

Mormons More Faithful Than Government

Gays Get After Mormons

Btw, if gays have a complaint, why don't you take it to the
BLACK CHURCHES? From what I heard, they voted 70-30 FOR the BAN!!! How come the gay rights folks only have it in for the Mormons? Or why don't you go after Hispanics, who voted FOR the ban by 53-47? In fact, one wonders HOW the VOTE could have been so CLOSE -- although one does not wonder long in the land of rigged elections.

And before I get charged with being some sort of bigot for opposing the wishes of the divisive, globalist agenda-pushers, reflect upon this...

"The Role of Feminism in the New World Order"

"What do factory workers, women, blacks and homosexuals in Western societies have in common? They all used to have reasons to feel discriminated against. What else do they have in common? Their grievances have been addressed and largely resolved as the result of intense pressure by mostly Jewish intellectuals, media and liberal politicians. Shouldn’t we all be grateful for their effort? Isn’t it proof that Jews are actually making this world a better place? Of course there is nothing wrong with addressing legitimate grievances of parts of society who are unfairly discriminated against. Factory workers shouldn’t be exploited and worked to death. Women and blacks shouldn’t be refused equal rights because of gender or colour of skin. And homosexuals shouldn’t have to fear being bashed for being homosexuals.

One of the most difficult things to get our heads around though is the fact that the driving forces behind fixing those grievances did so for all the wrong reasons. The same masterminds and their puppets who pretended to care so much about the plight of the disadvantaged had no qualms about bringing death and misery upon them for their selfish financial and political gains. What they really were interested in is dividing society and turning us against each other like roosters in a cockfight..... --more--"

I am MORE THAN WILLING to meet halfway! I'm not happy about it, as my state has signed off on gay marriage; however, I ACCEPT IT! As a wiser man than me once said:

"The issue would revert to the states, where it constitutionally belongs.... anyone expecting perfection in this world is going to be consistently disappointed.... "

I never realized it; however, it is becoming clearer and clearer to me that Zionist hate Mormons. It shows in the coverage Romney got from the Globe and in the way Mormons are disrespected across the US (peaceful compounds invaded over Zionist-controlled government lies because of their independence).

The gay attacks on them for opposing that agenda cinches it for me..
