"South Africa’s homeless allege crackdown amid World Cup preparations" by Courtney Brooks, Associated Press | December 4, 2009
CAPE TOWN - Local authorities have been pressuring the homeless in recent months to move off the streets and into settlements like Blikkiesdorp, a grim camp on the outskirts of Cape Town....
Blikkiesdorp’s corrugated tin shacks, with a toilet and tap for every four dwellings, stretch in neat, sterile rows. The dusty settlement was created in 2008 to house 650 people evicted from buildings they had been illegally occupying, but now accommodates 1,452 families, according to Kylie Hatton, Cape Town spokesman.
Yeah, ONLY WAR CRIMINAL GOVERNMENTS can illegally occupy things!!
Hatton said Blikkiesdorp is an emergency haven for those forced from their homes by evictions, floods, or fires. “It’s not a forced relocation,’’ Hatton said....
Then what is with the "pressure?"

South Africa, where more than a quarter of the workforce is unemployed and millions live in poverty, is hoping for an economic boost from the hundreds of thousands of tourists expected for the World Cup....
That is NOT something on which to BUILD an ECONOMY!!
