Swimming the Gulf of Aden

Might not be a good idea:

FLASHBACK:

"Somali Migrants Cast Overboard

SANA, Yemen (AP) — About 100 migrants from Somalia are missing and feared drowned off the coast of Yemen after smugglers forced them overboard in the treacherous Gulf of Aden waters, Yemeni officials and the United Nations refugee agency said Friday.

So far, 30 bodies have been found washed up on shore on Friday and were buried immediately, a Yemeni security official said. The waters off the Horn of Africa and Yemen have become some of the most lawless in the world, plagued by Somali piracy. The area is also a busy crossing-point for migrants fleeing to Yemen from the Horn of Africa, particularly from the violence in Somalia.

In Geneva, the United Nations refugee agency said the smugglers’ boat left Somalia on Monday with 150 people on board. When their vessel was about three miles from the Yemeni coast, the smugglers forced all but 12 of the migrants overboard, the agency said. The 12 were put in a smaller boat while the rest tried to swim to shore. Only 47 made it and alerted authorities, the agency said.

Reports of abuse by smugglers are common in the heavy traffic of migrants across the sea to Yemen. To avoid Yemeni patrols, the smugglers often dump their passengers far from shore in shark-infested waters and force them to swim the rest of the way.

And why is Yemen important?

"The route is bordered on one side by the failed state of Somalia and on the other by the unstable country of Yemen."

Aaaah!

Ever notice "Al-CIA-Duh" always shows up where there is OIL and GLOBALIST POLITICAL GOALS at stake?!

"US prods Yemen to do more for ex-detainees" by Sudarsan Raghavan, Washington Post | November 30, 2009

The
Washington Post is the CIA 's newspaper.

Always an important factor to remember.

ADEN, Yemen - Yemen’s weak central government is beset by multiple crises, including a secessionist movement in the south and a civil war against Shi’ite rebels in the north. Al Qaeda is creating havens in the south and east. High rates of illiteracy and unemployment and diminishing oil and water reserves compound the woes in the Middle East’s poorest nation.

Yes, once again my American newspaper misses that.

Strange how it is so silent on Saudi slaughter, isn't it?

Yup, seen nothing since in the Glob. Yes, when they are our allies and our dictators, human rights and war crime do not seem to matter much.

Instead, the rest of the article is filled with an INNOCENT MAN who was TORTURED at GITMO!

Yes, keep that FANTASY of FICTION -- the official government and MSM lie about 9/11-- FIRMLY FIXED in the American mind, MSM!!

Pfffft!

Two years ago, Mohsin al-Askari was released from his prison cell at Guantanamo Bay, but he has found neither freedom nor a new life in his homeland. Potential employers are afraid to hire him. At 28, he depends on his father for financial support, charities for medical care.

With each rejection, his frustration grows, as does the temptation to return to his old life of jihad. “The government hasn’t done anything to help me,’’ said Askari, his voice filled with bitterness. Yemen’s handling of former Guantanamo detainees and accused extremists in its own jails has raised fears that sending detainees back to this nation, the poorest in the Arab world, might create more militants determined to attack America.

Strange since 9/11 was an INSIDE JOB and 15 of the 19 patsies were Saudi, but, hey, we are reading an AmeriKan *ewspaper here, I mean, c'mon!!!!

Disputes over the fates of 97 Yemeni detainees, roughly 40 percent of the current prison population at Guantanamo, are a key reason President Obama has given up on his promise to shut down the facility by January.

Honestly, despite the fanfare and announcement, I never expected any different.

This guy has broken every promise he made during the campaign, and it is why his poll numbers are tanking.

US officials are also concerned about Yemen’s lax supervision of accused terrorists. Many of those imprisoned for orchestrating the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole, which killed 17 American sailors in this coastal city, have escaped or been freed by Yemeni officials.

Yeah, about the Cole. Kind of a kick in the head, huh?

The government has also refused to extradite two of the attack’s alleged organizers to the United States to face murder charges. But not returning eligible detainees to Yemen or delaying the closing of the prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, could spawn more anti-American anger and more radicalization in a failing nation with a growing Al Qaeda presence, said diplomats, Yemeni officials, and analysts.

HOW APPROPRIATE "Al Qaeda" means toilet because that's where this "report" is going.

Btw, did you know that Al Qaeda doesn't even exist?

That there is no Al Qaeda?

But hey, what is ONE MORE MSM LIE after CLIMATEGATE!!!??

I mean, the WHOLE THING is BULLS***!!

That is WHAT I SEE when I LOOK at ANY AmeriKan newspaper now!

Yemen’s government has demanded the repatriation of detainees, vowing to rehabilitate them. But US officials have little faith in Yemen’s ability to prevent former fighters from rejoining Al Qaeda. “When they lose hope to live a good life, when they feel like they are dead, maybe this will encourage some to become suicide bombers, to seek revenge,’’ said Khaled al-Ansi, executive director of HOOD, a Yemeni human rights group....

Since the Cole bombing, Al Qaeda militants have staged dozens of attacks, including a 2006 jailbreak from a central prison in the capital, San’a. The fugitives included Nasser al-Wahishi, who became leader of the Arabian Peninsula branch of Al Qaeda. Last year, his group orchestrated car bombings outside the US Embassy, killing 16 people, including six attackers.

Fifteen Yemeni detainees have returned. All were released from Guantanamo because they were no longer considered a threat or there was insufficient evidence to try them on terrorism charges. None of the detainees who has returned has joined Al Qaeda, say human rights groups and Yemeni intelligence officials. But the vast majority remain angry and disgruntled, unable to shake off the stigma of Guantanamo.

Yeah, well, I would find it pretty difficult to get over TORTURE!!!

As of right now I can only imagine, and the thought is spine-shivering.
