Who would have believed it? Only days after a warning of an Israeli “false flag” bombing against the US “in the works” a massive car bomb is discovered in Time Square! Better yet, though no intelligence organization in the world could discover anyone claiming responsibility for this embarrassing failure, SITE Intelligence, a group rumored as the “voice of the Mossad” has placed the blame on the Pakistani Taliban.
This is the same group that has come up with numerous bin Laden “audio” tapes, seemingly, though tiny and nearly totally unstaffed, whenever it is convenient for Israel to point a finger at someone, magically Site Intelligence, run by former IDF soldier Rita Katz, whose father was executed as a spy by Saddam Hussein, makes another “unbelievable” intelligence find.
Site Intelligence finds are not only timely for Israel, when the world is focused on claims they have been planning a ‘dirty bomb’ attack to send the US to war against Iran, but always tend to support mysterious organizations run from the caves of the Afghanistan/Pakistan border region....

While the authorities said they were treating the failed bombing — described as a “one-off’’ by Janet Napolitano, the Homeland Security secretary — as a potential terrorist attack, they said there was no evidence of a continued threat to the city.

Additional patrols would be placed in Midtown, said Raymond W. Kelly, the police commissioner, but no significant increase in the city’s police presence was planned.

Investigators were reviewing surveillance footage that showed an unidentified man walking away from West 45th Street, where the Nissan Pathfinder had been parked. The man was seen in Shubert Alley, which runs between 44th and 45th Streets, looking furtively over his shoulder and removing a dark shirt, revealing a red one underneath, officials said. The man then stuffed the dark shirt into a bag, officials said.
Asked if he considered the failed bombing a work of terrorists, Kelly said: “A terrorist act doesn’t necessarily have to be conducted by an organization. An individual can do it on their own.’’
The Pathfinder was taken to a forensics facility in Queens, where investigators were scouring it for DNA evidence and hairs, fibers, and fingerprints. No fingerprints have yet been found, officials said, but the analysis is still in its early stages....

The gun locker, which weighed about 75 pounds empty and upward of 200 pounds with the eight bags of fertilizer in it, could provide important clues because it is likely to prove more easily traceable than many of the other items found in the SUV. The weight of the locker and the material inside raises questions as to whether it may have required more than one person to load it into the vehicle.
I predict this will fade quickly, folks.
Kelly said that investigators had identified, but not yet interviewed, the Pathfinder’s owner, who was in Connecticut. Initially, they believed the last owner was in Texas and had donated the car to a charity in North Carolina, one official said. Identifying the owner was achieved through the SUV’s vehicle identification number, which had been stripped from the car’s dashboard but is stamped on other car parts, like the engine block and axle.

Investigators were reviewing similarities between the incident in Times Square and coordinated attacks in the summer of 2007 at a Glasgow airport and London neighborhood of nightclubs. Both attacks involved cars containing propane and gasoline that did not explode. Those attacks, the authorities believed, had their roots in Iraq.

Police and FBI officials were also investigating a 911 call placed around 4 a.m. yesterday that described the failed plot as a diversion before a more massive explosion, two law enforcement officials said, although Kelly said at the news briefing that he had found no record of that call.
