Clinton's Circles: High Fives in Haiti

Nothing will make you sicker -- except maybe the sewage flowing through the tent camps of Haiti!

Former presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton toured Port-au-Prince yesterday with Haiti’s leader, René Préval. The Clinton Bush Haiti Fund has raised $37 million for quake relief.

Then how come only 25% of the aid has made it through, the place is still rubble, and no rebuilding yet?

"Clinton, Bush to assess Haiti recovery needs" by Associated Press | March 19, 2010

UNITED NATIONS — Former presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, who are spearheading US fund-raising for Haiti, will make their first joint visit to the Caribbean nation Monday to assess earthquake recovery needs.

Globalists Getting Help to Haiti

Sent the right guy, huh?

The Jan. 12 quake killed an estimated 230,000 people and left 1.3 million homeless, according to Haiti government figures.

The Clinton Foundation said yesterday that the two presidents and members of the board of the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund “will meet with Haitians, the government of Haiti, and others providing assistance to earthquake survivors, with the goal of further establishing long-term recovery and rebuilding efforts.’’

You know, I can't help wondering why, if these guys cared so much, the place was such a s*** hole for so long.

Of course, if you peruse the Haiti file you will understand.

President Obama asked Clinton and Bush to lead private fund-raising efforts for Haitian relief, including money for immediate needs and the long-term rebuilding effort.

Yeah, he called Bush a "statesman."

So much for the lies and mass-murdering invasions you are picking up after, 'eh, 'bomber?

According to the fund’s website, some 200,000 people have contributed more than $31 million to support Haiti relief efforts.

Where has all that $$$ gone because the Haitians are seeing none of it.

Clinton has made two trips to Haiti since the earthquake in his role as UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon’s special envoy to the country.

"Clinton, Bush visit Haiti capital; Hope to shine spotlight on need before UN summit" by Jonathan M. Katz, Associated Press | March 23, 2010

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti — Former presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton toured Haiti’s rubble-filled capital yesterday to raise aid and investment for a country still reeling from the Jan. 12 earthquake.

And BUSH is HIGH-FIVING people!

It is the first joint visit to the impoverished Caribbean nation for the two former leaders, whom President Obama asked to lead the US fund-raising effort.

George is still very effective even when he is not president.

After meeting with President René Préval on the grounds of the collapsed national palace, they walked through the tarpaulin-and-tent city on the adjacent Champ de Mars, the national mall filled with 60,000 homeless quake survivors living in squalor.

Hey, it was just a walk through. Shit wipes of shoes, doncha know?

Both men, surrounded by Secret Service agents, Haitian police, and UN peacekeepers, waded into the giant encampment to shake hands with earthquake survivors....

I'll spit in mine first.

A f***ing PHOTO OP with their ENTOURAGE!

And YOU are PAYING FOR IT, U.S. taxpayers!!

Bush told reporters they wanted to encourage entrepreneurship in Haiti to create jobs and grow the economy....

Well, you HAD EIGHT YEARS as PRESIDENT and didn't give two fucks!

You RAN the DEMOCRATICALLY-ELECTED LEADER out at GUNPOINT!

And when are you guys going to worry about AMERICA for a change?

The visit looks to shine a spotlight on the dramatic need before a crucial March 31 UN donors conference in New York, at which Haitian officials will ask for $11.5 billion in reconstruction help.

Yup, the MSM AGENDA-PUSHERS at work again!

So when is the conference for aid to America?

Aid was already being announced yesterday.

For us, or.... ??

The Inter-American Development Bank said it had agreed to forgive its $479 million share of Haiti’s $1.2 billion in foreign debt while offering $2 billion in new financing.

Yeah, that is a GREAT IDEA!!!

Related:

"The Haiti government is still obligated to use what little money it has to pay off the debt to international financial institutions.... nearly $1 million per week"

That was during the BUSH YEARS, folks (but he cares)!

Globalists didn't forgive that, did they?

That's who they care about: BANKS!

The European Union said it will donate $1.36 billion in development aid to Haiti in the years ahead. President Hugo Chávez of Venezuela announced that he will cancel Haiti’s debt to his country, which the International Monetary Fund had listed at more than $200 million.

That is what they all should be doing!

The Haitian people didn't benefit or build up that debt.

There corrupt rulers did and they should not be held responsible for ODIOUS DEBT!

Clinton and Bush visited as the country struggles to feed and shelter victims of the magnitude-7 quake, which killed an estimated 230,000 people. Another 1.3 million quake survivors are homeless, with many living in camps prone to dangerous flooding in the April rainy season.

Yeah, the failure of global government to aid Haiti caused the coverage to dwindle to a trickle.

While the government and business leaders hail their appearance as a signal of America’s commitment, the visit by two former presidents who have played major roles in Haiti’s recent political trajectory is also reminding the country of its tumultuous past.

You mean the CIA COUPS and the DRUG-RUNNING as well as the SEX-SLAVE SYNDICATE and ORGAN-HARVESTING OPERATIONS?

Supporters of ousted president Jean-Bertrand Aristide staged a protest outside the national palace of about 100 participants, burning tires and demanding the return of their exiled leader.

While Bush and Clinton were laughing it up, huh?

HEAVY RAIN POUNDS HAITI'S HOMELESS -- A man looked out from his tent yesterday at a camp for homeless survivors of the magnitude-7 earthquake that hit Port-au-Prince, Haiti, in January. Hey, don't worry, help is a comin' in the form of Bill and George.

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti — One of the heaviest rainfalls since the Jan. 12 earthquake swamped homeless camps yesterday, sweeping screaming residents into eddies of water, causing latrines to overflow, and panicking thousands.

The overnight downpour propelled water down the slopes of a former golf course that now serves as a temporary home for about 45,000 people.

There were no reports of deaths in the camp, a town-size maze of blue, orange, and silver tarps behind the country club, which is used by the US Army 82d Airborne as an operating base.

But the deluge terrified families who two months ago survived the collapse of their homes in the magnitude-7 earthquake, and who are struggling to make do in tent-and-tarp camps that officials have repeatedly said must be relocated.

“I was on one side [of the tarp], the children were on the other side, and I was trying to push the water out,’’ Jackquine Exama, a 34-year-old mother of seven, said through tears. “I’m not used to this.’’

Aid workers said rushes of water ripped down tents an Israeli aid group is using to teach school.

Their nefarious ass is still on the ground, huh?

“They were crying. There was just fear down there. It was chaos,’’ said Jim Wilson of the aid group Praecipio, who came running from his own shelter when he heard the screams.

After the sun rose, people used sticks and their hands to dig drainage ditches around their tarps and shanties.

Marie Elba Sylvie, 50, could not decide whether it was worth repairing damage to her lean-to of scrap wood and plastic.

“It could be fixed but when it rains again it will be the same problem,’’ said the mother of four.

Water and mud also damaged a tarp-and-tent city on the outskirts of Cite Soleil, several miles away. Residents waded through the shallow flood collecting their belongings.

Officials know they must move many of the 1.3 million people displaced by the earthquake before the rainy season starts in earnest next month. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon told reporters at the golf-course camp earlier this week that the people living there were in particular danger.

But after two months of searching and wrangling with landowners, the government has not opened any of the five promised relocation sites.

Like I have said, THIS AID EFFORT FAILED!

Aid groups are also struggling to open their own camps.

“It’s been frustrating to us because we need to have those sites in order to build something . . . better,’’ UN humanitarian chief John Holmes said during Ban’s visit. “Until we can do that, people have no incentive to move.

“We’re running out of time, honestly,’’ Holmes said.

That guy has seen a lot. He was in Gaza last year.

And don't worry, help is on the way.

"Puello.... said he was working undercover for US authorities"

Say what?

"Lawyer for American missionaries arrested; Fugitive wanted in US on charges of smuggling" by Ezequiel Abiu Lopez, Associated Press | March 20, 2010

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic — A fugitive who had acted as the lawyer for American Baptist missionaries accused of kidnapping 33 Haitian children was arrested on human trafficking charges, authorities said yesterday.

Jorge Puello, 32, was detained as he left a McDonald’s restaurant late Thursday in the capital, Santo Domingo, the National Drug Control Agency said.

Yeah, you can see why they won't dig too deep, 'eh?

Agency spokesman Roberto Lebron said he did not know whether Puello would be extradited to the United States, where he is wanted on smuggling charges, or El Salvador, where authorities say he led a prostitution ring.

His mother, Soledad, said earlier Thursday that she and others were negotiating with Salvadoran prosecutors for her son to turn himself in.

Puello initially served as the Americans’ legal adviser and spokesman, but authorities later identified him as the man wanted on an Interpol warrant requested by authorities in El Salvador.

So WHO SENT HIM, readers?

US authorities have an outstanding warrant for his arrest on an alleged parole violation following a 2003 federal indictment out of Vermont accusing him of smuggling illegal migrants from Canada into the United States.

Puello was living in Canada at the time and said he was working undercover for US authorities.

No wonder he was allowed to wander around Central America.

Puello attracted international attention when he provided the US missionaries detained in Haiti with food, medicine, and legal assistance. One of the Americans’ Haitian lawyers, Aviol Fleurant, said that Puello absconded with $30,000 in legal fees the Americans had raised.

Puello, who was born in New York and holds US and Dominican citizenship, has said he was innocent of all accusations.

Nine of the 10 missionaries involved in the case, most of whom are from Idaho, have been released from jail and returned to the United States. Group leader Laura Silsby remains in custody at the police station that is being used as Haiti’s temporary government headquarters.

And she has been all but forgotten, as you can see by this afterthought of a paragraph.

"3 killed in quake in northern Haiti" by ASSOCIATED PRESS | March 22, 2010

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti — A small earthquake in northern Haiti collapsed an apartment building and killed three people in Cap-Haïtien early yesterday, a UN official said.

The Haitians must be flipping out!

Anybody hear a HAARP?

UN spokesman Louicius Eugene said six people were pulled out of the rubble but three of them died. The other three were taken to a hospital.

Haitian police, civil protection authorities, and UN peacekeepers are searching for more survivors in Cap-Haïtien, the country’s second-largest city.

The US Geological Survey had no record of the earthquake.

Oh, NOW THAT STINKS!!!

Geophysicist Jessica Sigala said yesterday that the agency would have registered any quake of magnitude 4.5 or greater in Haiti. Cap-Haïtien lies on the fault line that produced three moderate earthquakes in Cuba on Saturday. It was not affected by the Jan. 12 earthquake.

Oh, EARTHQUAKES in CUBA that get ONE LINE, 'eh?

Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, former US presidents, will visit Haiti today....

Yeah we saw that, yeah. High-Fives all around.

Supporters of Jean-Bertrand Aristide, the president ousted in 2004, have scheduled protests for today demanding his return and pleading for more aid....

"From Haiti’s ruins to Mass. schools; Teachers strive to help hundreds of arrivals adjust" by David Abel, Globe Staff | March 19, 2010

They are in some ways fortunate, children of families with enough connections and means to find a place for them to recover far from the devastation they witnessed in Haiti, starting with the jolting Jan. 12 earthquake.

Now living in the Boston area, they have access to something that has all but vanished in postquake Haiti: an education.

In the past month or so, hundreds of children from the Caribbean’s poorest nation have enrolled in local schools, challenging teachers to provide support for children struggling to learn English, to adapt to winter, and to make sense of what has become of their lives.

And now you have lay-offs coming.

Boston public schools have enrolled at least 99 students from Haiti since the massive earthquake left more than 200,000 dead, some 300,000 injured, and 1 million homeless, according to government estimates....

Related: What is Happening in Haiti?

But that aid effort was swift and rebuilding is being planned.

All the districts, though already overcrowded, expect to receive more students in the coming months....

No that I don't want Haitians to get help; however, maybe if we didn't f*** around with their country they wouldn't need it.

And SCHOOL BUDGETS and SERVICES are being SLASHED HERE, so WTF?

Why do our leaders and the paper care more about foreigners than citizens?

Despite the additional financial burdens, state officials have said no money is available to help schools, some of which have had to hire Haitian Creole-speaking staff, offer additional counseling, and open new classes.

WTF?

Just going to BORROW it then?

School officials said they do not check the immigration status of students and are required to enroll any child whose guardian or relative shows a driver’s license or another document that proves they live in the district. They said some of the students were born in the United States and are US citizens, while others are here on a tourist visa.

Yeah, yeah, we know Massachusetts is a turn-your-head-the-other-way state.

In a memo sent to schools last month, Mitchell D. Chester, commissioner of the state Elementary and Secondary Education Department, advised superintendents that “a school-aged child or youth displaced by the earthquake in Haiti and who is now residing in the USA as a doubled-up or homeless unaccompanied youth has the right to enroll immediately in the district of residence.’’

Related: No Apple For This Teacher

Maybe he could kick in some of that $200,000+(?) salary he is drawing, huh, Haitians?

That is why the state has NO MONEY for HAITIANS or ANY OTHER KID!!

A district would follow the same procedures it would with a child displaced by a domestic natural disaster, Chester said.

Asked whether state officials would offer financial help to districts getting the most students from Haiti, JC Considine, a spokesman for Chester, said he is “not aware of any additional state financial assistance for schools that are enrolling Haitian refugees.’’

Many of those schools already have large populations of Haitian-born students, and they say they are doing their best, despite their limited resources....

Of course, we have PLENTY of MONEY for WARS, BANKS, ISRAEL, etc!

Gee, that warm feeling I had when I began reading this PoS has gone through me like s*** through a goose.
