Slow Saturday Special: Labor Lynch Mob in Massachusetts

Yup, even when he is doing what is best for you for once.

I can't wait until the union guys get their tax surcharges for their generous plans.

Hey, BLAME YOUR LEADERSHIP, not Lynch!

"In shift, Lynch will vote no on health bill" by Matt Viser, Globe Staff | March 19, 2010

WASHINGTON — Rebuffing personal pleas from President Obama and Vicki Kennedy, Representative Stephen F. Lynch said yesterday that he will vote against the Democrats’ health care overhaul, contending that it doesn’t put enough pressure on insurance companies to reduce costs.

Now THERE is a PROFILE in COURAGE!

Of course, they already have the votes so they can cut this guy loose and make it look good.

And he only recognizes what we ALL DO!

The move is a shift for the South Boston Democrat, who voted in favor of the original House bill along with the rest of the Massachusetts delegation in November.

While not seen as fatal to the sweeping initiative, his defection makes it tougher for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her leadership team, who are cajoling individual representatives as they seek to win at least 216 commitments before Sunday’s anticipated vote.

I told you they had the votes.

Yeah, poor Nancy Pelosi, pfffffft!!!!

It also illustrates the profound changes in the Massachusetts political landscape since last year’s death of Edward M. Kennedy, who built his career on efforts to expand health coverage....

Yeah, and was he ever forgotten fast, huh? And those changes?

Pfffft!

Lynch said he is opposed because the measure does not go far enough. “We’ve paid the ransom, but at the end of the day the insurance companies are still holding the hostages,’’ Lynch said in an interview with the Globe yesterday.

As was intended from the start.

“This is a very good bill for insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies. It might be good for Nebraska, I don’t know. Or Florida residents. But it’s not good for the average American, and it’s not good for my district. Or for Massachusetts.’’

But VOTE FOR IT or else, DemocraPs!!!!

Lynch is the only member of the Massachusetts House delegation to oppose the legislation thus far. Several others, including Representative Michael E. Capuano, say they remain undecided. “I want to vote yes, but I am still not certain that this specific bill deserves my support,’’ Capuano said this week in an e-mail to supporters....

Well, I won't be holding my breath.

The pressure on House members is intense.

Yup, and WE KNOW HOW INTENSE, but no thanks to you obfuscating PoS!

Lynch was summoned to the White House yesterday afternoon for a personal, 40-minute Oval Office meeting with the president. The former ironworker also received a call from his union’s president urging him to vote yes. Vicki Kennedy, widow of the senator, also spoke with Lynch.

When reminded yesterday of Senator Kennedy’s advice to not let the “perfect be the enemy of the good,’’ Lynch told reporters: “There’s a difference between compromise and surrender, right? And this is a complete surrender of all the things that people thought were important to health care reform.’’

But VOTE FOR IT to SAVE OBAMA'S PRESIDENCY!

F*** what is GOOD and RIGHT for YOU, 'murka!!!

Go ahead and own it, one-termer!!

After emerging late yesterday from the meeting with Obama, Lynch said he remained unconvinced. “I am still planning on voting against the bill,’’ Lynch said last night in an interview. “Look, he’s a very articulate and persuasive individual....

Yup, that is AmeriKan politics all right: ALL IMAGE!!

The insurers still rule.... We’re just pumping subsidies into the current system, but that won’t drive down costs.’’

Yup, a HUGE TRANSFER of TAX LOOT to PRICE-GOUGING INSURANCE COMPANIES!!

On a conference call with reporters yesterday, Richard Trumka, AFL-CIO president, praised the health care bill and said the union would strongly advocate for it....

Another "left-wing" group of AmeriKa.

Lynch downplayed any notion that Obama’s presidency could be irreparably damaged if his signature health care overhaul package is defeated. “This will not sink his presidency,’’ he said. “That fear is overstated.’’

Yup, and LIBERAL DEMOCRATS are HOWLING IT just as the conservative Christian crazies would be if it were their man.

Happy with the REFLECTION you see in the MIRROR, PoS liberals?

He also deflected questions about his political future and whether he is seeking to appease angry voters as a way of setting himself up for a Senate bid in 2012. “These are questions for another day,’’ he said. “We have a lot of road to travel.’’

Pffft!

Sigh.

No wonder the journalism is so shitty in AmeriKa!!

Lynch’s Massachusetts colleagues refrained from criticizing him....

Then the VOTE is in the BAG, folks!!!

Lynch said it is wrong for House Democrats to consider a process in which they would “deem’’ the Senate bill passed as they approve a package of budget resolution compromises, instead of voting separately and directly on the Senate bill itself.

Pelosi, asked about Lynch’s criticism of the process she was pursuing, brushed it off. Then — without naming Lynch — she launched into an assault on opponents of the bill.

Yeah, she is a REAL PIECE of WORK, huh, Americans?

Time for her to RESIGN!!!!!!!!!!!

“The poisoning of the well that you see is, again, the lengths to which the other side — the insurance companies —will go. They will do anything to stop this legislation,’’ she said.

Yeah, just as your shameless ass and botox-laden face will threaten, extort, and blackmail to get what you want!

Oh, yeah, she already had a heads-up so they were not counting on Lynch.

Letters to Lynch

Yeah, he ain't no savior, either!

"To many, declaration not surprising" by Brian C. Mooney, Globe Staff | March 19, 2010

Steve Murphy, Lynch’s longtime Washington-based media strategist, said Lynch’s decision is not inconsistent with his vote last fall in favor of a different version.

“It lets the insurance industry keep on doing what it’s been doing, and it taxes health benefits, forcing workers to pay for the sins of the insurance industry,’’ Murphy said....

And BOOST the BOTTOM LINE like with the BANKS!!

Lynch is the most conservative member of the Bay State’s all-Democrat 10-member House delegation and he is something of a lone wolf within that group.

Gee, you STEP OUT of LINE on ONE ISSUE and the agenda-pushing press pounces on you!!

Then he is being monitored by the government and is on a watch list as a potential "terrorist," right, BG?

He can be immovable in the face of pressure and has demonstrated the ability to resist House leadership and heavy lobbying by his allies in organized labor.

Ah, they don't need you anyway, Steve.

Tim Sullivan, spokesman for the Massachusetts AFL-CIO, said Lynch has been contacted by many state labor leaders, and they will continue to try to change his mind.

“The health care bill has been a top priority of the labor movement, and there have been a lot of bumps along the way,’’ Sullivan said. “This is the first step, and we’ve decided it’s better to take the step than not.’’

Fine. EAT SHIT, and get CRAP CARE, America!

I'm FINISHED TRYING to HELP YOU!!!

Lynch won a tough four-way Democratic special primary in 2001 by rolling up big margins in the conservative precincts of the district. Three Bay State political observers surveyed by the Globe said they doubt Lynch’s opposition to the bill will hurt him in the district.

Yesterday Lynch brushed aside a question from a reporter about whether he was considering a challenge to Republican Scott Brown, another opponent of the health care legislation, when Brown completes Kennedy’s term in 2012.

Sigh!

Stoo-pid f***ing Globe flak asked, didn't they?

Pffffffffttt
!

Even more reason to oppose the bill.

Rule #1 (with rare exception) when reading agenda-pushing Globe editorials: You should favor the opposite. Time-tested and true, readers.

"Bay State labor leaders ask Lynch to reconsider vote" by Brian C. Mooney, Globe Staff | March 20, 2010

More than 20 Massachusetts labor leaders made a last-ditch appeal to US Representative Stephen F. Lynch late yesterday, urging him to “do the right thing’’ and vote for a national health care overhaul.

In a letter delivered to Lynch’s South Boston office, the group suggested a vote against the bill would damage his standing with their membership.

Well, we will see what he does then.

Disingenuous Democrats in Home Stretch on Health Tax

Yeah, I've given up on organized labor.

Took me a long time to realize they are just selfish people and couldn't give a damn about anyone or anything else as long as they get theirs

Being in a union used to mean something good in this country, but not anymore.

What can you say about a country where the most effective union is a millionaires union (baseball players)?

Lynch, a former president of Ironworkers Local 7, declared Thursday that he will vote against the health care bill. He said the current bill does not do enough to force insurance companies to reduce costs.

Keep those irons in the fire, Steve!

“Congressman, we will not be able to explain to the working women and men of our union why you voted against their interests,’’ the letter states. “We have stood together time and time again and you have made an enormous difference.’’

Sigh. This bill is a tax giveaway to price-gouging insurance companies so manage our health care. That's all it is!

“It takes courage to make history,’’ they wrote. “We know that you have always had the courage to do the right thing — national health reform is the right thing for Massachusetts families. Please stand with us once again and do the right thing.’’

Courage is taking on the 9/11 Truth cause, bozos, not this capitulation to insurance companies!

The one-page letter is signed by Robert Haynes, president of the Massachusetts AFL-CIO; Francis X. Callahan Jr., president of the Massachusetts Building Trades Council; leaders of the Greater Boston, North Shore, and Bristol-Plymouth regional labor councils; Mark Erlich, executive secretary treasurer of the New England Regional Council of Carpenters; leaders of the five Massachusetts locals of the Service Employees International Union; and officials of other union locals.

Lynch, a Democrat from South Boston, won a special election in 2001 with strong labor backing, but signs of strain in the relationship were evident when he considered a run for the late Edward M. Kennedy’s Senate seat. Labor activists pressured him in vain to endorse a government- sponsored health insurance provider to compete with private insurers. Lynch decided against a Senate run.

Union officials said that the health care bill “is not perfect.’’

But if Congress does not pass it, we cannot work together to improve it,’’ they wrote.

Well, GO BACK and WRITE a BETTER ONE -- not one meant for 60 a**holes when they only really ever needed 51.

You know, if it was so good and so popular, why would it be like pulling teeth (that covered, by the way)?

And since when has this lying, looting government done anything for your benefit, Americans? When?

The war lies for your benefit, not Halliburton, et al?

Bank bailouts that led to record profits and bonuses while foreclosures and job losses proceed at record pace? The spying and secrecy foisted upon you by a false threat?

All that for your own good.

“We fully understand your concerns that this bill does not do enough to hold insurance companies accountable, but this bill is an enormous step.’’

Yes, so eat this pile of turd on a plate and SMILE, Steve!

Pelosi threaten your campaign funds, committee positions, chairmanships, or earmarks yet?

Or does she not need you and said it's okay.

I'm SO SICK of HALF MEASURES and BULLSHIT when SINGLE-PAYER was NEVER EVEN DISCUSSED!

Go back and GIVE the American people what they want!!!
