Sunday Globe Special: Dahill Drunk With Power

"From the start of her campaign, there were many who didn’t want any part of her bridge-building. But it was her presence in the race they hated the most, and when it was over she had fulfilled their prophecy and had taken enough votes from the other South Boston candidate, their candidate, to allow the prized “Southie seat” to fall into the hands of someone from outside the neighborhood for the first time in more than half a century. It was viewed as an act of treason…. She had become a villain in the neighborhood where she was born, “the most hated woman in Southie.”

I'm sorry I don't give a shit, readers.

"Chris Christie visits Fla., dogged by N.J. scandal" by Michael Barbaro |  New York Times, January 19, 2014

ORLANDO, Fla. — A swing through Florida proved no sunny retreat for Governor Chris Christie on Saturday, as well-organized protesters hounded him outside a Republican fund-raiser, a powerful ally in the New Jersey state Lesgislature rebuked the governor’s office, and new allegations emerged that his administration tried to intimidate a state official.

Christie’s trip, which was supposed to showcase his political resilience after the rockiest period of his governorship, was overshadowed by claims from the mayor of Hoboken, N.J., Dawn Zimmer, a Democrat.

Are jyou thinking what I'm thinking?

In a television interview Saturday, she said that two high-ranking aides to Christie had threatened to withhold money for Hurricane Sandy recovery to her hard-hit city if she did not support a real estate development that the governor wanted built in her jurisdiction.

On MSNBC, she accused the administration of holding the recovery money “hostage,” and produced journal entries that she said documented conversations in which Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno and Richard E. Constable, the commissioner of the Department of Community Affairs, told her that if she wanted the money, she had to approve the project.

Zimmer recalled documenting her disappointment in Christie the day of her meeting with Constable. “I thought he was something very different,” she wrote at the time. “This week I found out he’s cut from the same corrupt cloth that I have been fighting.”

Despite being almost entirely submerged during the hurricane, Hoboken has received a fraction of the recovery money it requested from the state, Zimmer said.

Stephen M. Sweeney, a Democrat and the president of the New Jersey Senate, who is a Christie ally, called the allegations “extremely disturbing’’ and promised an investigation.

In a statement, Christie’s office described its relationship with Zimmer as “productive” and said that she had been supportive of the governor.

A spokesman for the governor, Colin Reed, denounced MSNBC as “a partisan network that has been openly hostile to Govenor Christie and almost gleeful in their efforts attacking him.”

Well, I am sour on them because I think they are all $hit, but the Most Shitty News Broadcast Channel is the "leftist" version of Fox.

Yeah, I wonder who benefits from all this media crucifixion of Christie.

I seem to remember some other investigation, too, but it faded from sight real fast.

UPDATE:

"N.J. legislative panel issues subpoenas in Christie case" January 17, 2014

TRENTON, N.J. — A special legislative panel investigating an apparent political payback scheme involving Governor Chris Christie’s aides issued 20 new subpoenas Thursday, and he made his first trip since the scandal broke to pledge he will not be distracted from rebuilding after Hurricane Sandy.

Christie also announced the hiring of a legal team to help his administration deal with inquiries into a scandal that will not be put to rest quickly….

Two New Jersey legislative committees, including one also using a former federal prosecutor; the US attorney’s office in New Jersey, which Christie headed before running for governor; and the chairman of a US Senate committee are conducting inquiries into what occurred in September when lanes to the George Washington Bridge from the town of Fort Lee were shut down for days, causing massive gridlock.

The plot apparently was hatched by Christie’s aides as a political vendetta….

Strange how the Jewish guy whose order as head of the Port Authority started all this is omitted from my jews article.

Don't get me wrong; Christie is also an a$$hole. He was taking helicopter rides to his kids' baseball games on taxpayer dime and all so he's no f***ing angel. Please do not mistake the analysis of the agenda for an endorsement.

The point is the AmeriKan political $y$tem is beyond repair despite -- or because of -- its mouthpiece media.
