Ripe For the Picking

"No reports of the Obamas on the Vineyard yet, but one sign points to their summer arrival" by Mark Shanahan Globe Staff, June 24, 2020

Barack and Michelle Obama bought a house on Martha’s Vineyard, but islanders should not expect to see the former president and first lady strolling down Main Street in Edgartown.

Indeed, there have been few if any public sightings of the Obamas on the island since last fall, when the couple paid $11.75 million for a seven-bedroom, eight-bathroom spread overlooking Edgartown Great Pond.

They may not be on the Vineyard now, but it’s clear the Obamas intend to be there soon. Members of the Farm Neck Golf Club say Obama has joined the semi-private club in Oak Bluffs, where he had a regular tee time when vacationing during his presidency. Described as “idyllic” by Golf Digest — one of the club rules is “any ball moved or stolen by seagulls should be moved back or played at the original lie” — the 18-hole seaside course features lush, meandering fairways, majestic ocean vistas, salt marshes, and, on the 18th hole, a view of the New York Yankees flag that director Spike Lee flies atop his nearby summer house, perhaps to provoke Red Sox fans, but when Obama isn’t on the links with friends — his playing partners at Farm Neck have included NBA stars Steph Curry, Ray Allen, and Alonzo Mourning, and comedian Larry David — islanders are unlikely to find the famous new homeowner opining on the porch at the Chilmark General Store or browsing the organic arugula at the Stop & Shop in Vineyard Haven.

Aren't you glad they have the rest of us fighting about race?

Fore!

It’s no exaggeration to say Obama is beloved on the island, a famously liberal enclave whose residents have made their feelings about President Trump clear. Two summers ago, Alan Dershowitz, the retired Harvard Law professor and longtime island resident, lamented that some of his Vineyard friends were “shunning” him for opposing the appointment of a special counsel to investigate President Trump’s ties to Russia.

About those Epstein flight logs, Al.

Such partisanship makes a Trump family vacation on the island hard to imagine, though the president’s daughter, Ivanka, does have connections there. One is her friend Abigail Klem, who was chief brand officer and, later, president of the Ivanka Trump brand before the company was shuttered in 2018. Klem, a democrat, and her boyfriend, Warren Spector, former copresident at Bear Stearns, have a place in Chilmark, but the politics of the place may not matter to the president’s daughter and her husband, Jared Kushner, when choosing where to relax. In the summer of 2017, the couple vacationed at Twin Farms, a resort and spa in Barnard, Vt., which is hardly a bastion of conservatism.

That's Democrat with a SMALL D, huh?

Yikes, you might find yourselves behind whitey once the antics Bolsheviks take over. Have only yourselves top blame, and this "report" only emphasizes how phony the rest of the paper is with its politics and Trump hate.

Martha’s Vineyard, totaling just 96 square miles, does get crowded in the summer, but there are still plenty of mid-century modern manses and gray-shingled behemoths tucked away at the end of long, private driveways available for rent. They’re not cheap, though. Secluded waterfront properties go for $60,000 or more per week.

You can even get a painting of it.

Before the Obamas bought a place, they rented three different properties, including Blue Heron Farm, a deluxe 28-acre estate that was later purchased by the celebrated English architect Norman Foster (That’s Sir Norman Robert Foster, Baron Foster of Thames Bank, to you), but now, the Obamas are homeowners, and their home sounds pretty nice, with a fireplace in the master suite, two guest wings, a two-car garage, a boathouse, and a pool. The Martha’s Vineyard Times has reported that the Obamas are planning some modest renovations, including an enlargement of patios, landscaping, and the construction of a firepit, presumably for late-night s’mores, and that’s not all.....

It is enough for me, arrrrrrgggghhh!

So what Satanic rituals will be taking place on the premises, and is it not a joy for all the Americans out there who have had their livelihoods destroyed by this $camdemic to know that the Obama's are LIVING LARGE?

Justice Dept. officials testify on politicization under Barr

The New York Times reports that “In the United States of America, we do not prosecute people based on politics and we don’t cut them a break based on politics,” said Aaron S.J. Zelinsky, a career prosecutor who worked on the Russia investigation, told the House Judiciary Committee, “but that wasn’t what happened here. Roger Stone was treated differently because of politics.”

The claim is leniency towards Stone, and it's outright lunacy! They swarmed the guy's house in the dead of night with a SWAT team over the claim that he lied in his testimony to Mueller after he told the truth and didn't capitulate and throw Trump under the bus in cutting a deal like Cohen. Everything in my pre$$ needs to be turned upside-down and inside-out to be reflect truth.

Appeals court orders judge to dismiss criminal case against Michael Flynn

(Blog editor apoplectically snorts at the inherent incongruity and cognitive dissonance. The general was unfairly maligned and criminally unmasked because he knew about the Clinton corruptions, from the Foundation to Epstein and the emails  from his stint at the NSC. He was a major threat regarding the incoming Trump administration, so Rice and Powers were tasked with unmasking him to the pre$$. It worked. They bundled him out of their right quick and got Barr to sit on it all)

If only he could get his day in court:

"A divided Senate on Wednesday confirmed President Trump’s 200th judicial nominee, a milestone that reflects the breakneck speed at which he and fellow Republicans have moved to create a legacy that will endure regardless of the outcome of this year’s elections. The impact of the GOP push was made clear on Wednesday, when a federal appeals court ruled that a veteran district court judge cannot scrutinize the Justice Department’s decision to drop its long-running prosecution of Trump’s former national security adviser Michael Flynn and must dismiss the case. The ruling was written by Judge Neomi Rao, a recent nominee of the president....."

It will be the one bulwark of justice like what the liberals had for decades -- or will it?

Things may even be looking up for them after the lefti$t lawle$$ne$$ we have seen the last month:

"After nearly dying in a car crash six years ago, western North Carolina congressional candidate Madison Cawthorn already has learned many life lessons by age 24. “There is no time to wait,” Cawthorn said in a recent interview. “Life is precious and it can be taken away at any time.” So when Representative Mark Meadows shocked Republican activists by announcing the day before filing ended in December that he wouldn’t run, Cawthorn jumped in the race at the last minute to succeed him. Now Cawthorn’s the one who’s jolted the political establishment, winning the GOP nomination in a Tuesday runoff by soundly beating the candidate endorsed by both Trump and Meadows, who is now the president’s chief of staff. Cawthorn, who uses a wheelchair because he’s partially paralyzed, has built a strong following with a compelling story, a Libertarian-style focus on freedom and hopes among Republicans that he can attract millennial voters. “We just have a much more compelling message that resonated with people,” he told The Associated Press after his nearly 2-to-1 victory over Lynda Bennett on Tuesday....."

"City officials to do random inspections in North End after numerous complaints about outdoor dining; The Licensing Board made the announcement during a virtual meeting Wednesday" by Steve Annear and Jaclyn Reiss Globe Staff, June 24, 2020

Following dozens of complaints about safety violations, the city will begin random inspections of new al fresco dining spaces set up in the North End to accommodate the return of customers after months of coronavirus closures.

The city’s Licensing Board issued the warning in an emergency online meeting Wednesday. Attendance was mandatory for North End restaurant owners and their representatives; at one point, more than 200 people were in the hearing, held on Zoom.

Kathleen Joyce, chairwoman of the Licensing Board, noted that the industry has been particularly hard-hit by the effects of COVID-19, and she commended the restaurateurs’ efforts to reopen under difficult circumstances, but she said the city would not tolerate any further violations of the rules for the new outdoor dining initiative the city announced earlier this month.

“Your right to occupy a city space for outdoor dining is a privilege,” Joyce said. “With that privilege comes responsibility, and the responsibility includes following our rules and regulations — and not just some of them.”

That is SO ANTI-AMERICAN it is NOT EVEN FUNNY!

The whole idea of this country is that you have a right to be FREE from GOVERNMENT TYRANNY!

What is stated above is a TOTALITARIAN MIND-SET that believes the STATE shall decide WHAT YOU CAN and CAN NOT DO based on their "RULES!"

How EMBARRASSING that such an attitude is to be found in the CRADLE of the AMERICAN REVOLUTION!

FOR SHAME, Boston, FOR SHAME!

The complaints have mostly centered on people bringing pets to the outdoor spaces, smoking, loud music, restaurants extending beyond their allotted space, and a general lack of social distancing.

Disgruntled neighbors have also complained that the neighborhood has become overcrowded; a few expressed aggravation with the lack of parking, after restaurant owners took over spaces in front of their businesses.

To ensure restaurants are in full compliance with public health and safety guidelines, Joyce said, the board’s license premise unit and the Inspectional Services Department will start doing random inspections in the North End in the coming days.

If a restaurant is found to be in violation of the rules, including exceeding its boundaries or not keeping seats six feet apart — Joyce said they will be measuring — guests will be asked to leave immediately and approval for the outdoor space will be revoked on the spot.

I thought I recognized the smell of HEAVY-HANDED TYRANNY clearing the table!

“We are not waiting for people to pay their bills,” said Joyce. “They will be asked to leave right away.”

Who says there is no such thing as a FREE LUNCH!?!

Any violations will also lead to an indoor inspection, putting an establishment’s operations at risk. Joyce said the meeting Wednesday served as an official warning.

“We need every single one of you to follow the rules,” she said. “We need everyone’s cooperation.”

Yeah, they do!

They need us all to be submissive sheep so we enslave ourselves at their behest.

Time to tell them to SHOVE the MASKS and SOCIAL DISTANCE where the SUN DON'T SHINE!

Joyce said the city doesn’t want to see the new program end because of all the complaints coming in.

“We want to help you,” she said. “We are committed to working with you to address all of the challenges so we can operate in a safe way.”

What a cretinous b**-ach!

"The late afternoon excursion to Yogurtland was supposed to be a fun family outing for Mireya Mora and her 1-year-old son, but instead of enjoying a sweet treat together, the mother and son left the frozen yogurt store in San Jose, Calif., earlier this month ‘‘traumatized’’ following what Mora alleges was a racially charged spat over social distancing that ended with an unidentified white woman deliberately coughing on the young boy multiple times. Authorities in San Jose say they are now searching for the woman, described as white and in her 60s, and have classified the June 12 incident as an assault, according to a Monday statement from the police department asking for the public’s assistance. Citing findings from a preliminary investigation, police said the heated exchange was triggered after the woman became upset with Mora, who was behind her in line at Yogurtland, for not properly social distancing. In surveillance footage released by the police, Mora, who is pushing a stroller, can be seen walking through the business with her grandmother in tow, and stopping when she reaches a bright pink line drawn on the floor. Mora told The Post that she and her family adhered to coronavirus guidelines the entire time they were inside. She noted that when the woman initially complained about her to a Yogurtland worker, the employee also confirmed that Mora was following the rules."

As we go back and forth, it may be a good time to sell your property:

"Home sales throughout Greater Boston fell dramatically again in May as the COVID-19 pandemic took a toll on sellers’ willingness to list properties and agents’ ability to show properties, but people who did put their homes up for sale were still able to command high prices because there were so few options for buyers. May’s median sale price of $670,000 was up 5.5 percent, compared with the same month last year, while the number of sales, 889, fell by 32.8 percent. Bill Dermody, chairman of the realtors group, said the disruption from the coronavirus, which caused many sellers to put off listing their homes and made showings a logistical nightmare....."

“It’s not a normal cycle because of the pandemic, and it was like someone flicked the light switch off in March,” but even as the coronavirus has made the imbalances in the Bo$ton-area housing market even worse, life goes on.”

At least Trump can always fall back on the $tock market:

"Wall Street’s rally hit a snag Wednesday as new US coronavirus cases climbed to the highest level in two months, dimming investors’ hopes for a relatively quick economic turnaround....."

That's odd because it was only yesterday that Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon said he sees V-shaped recovery into 2021 and it getting even healthier after that:

"GNC filed for bankruptcy protection with the aim of selling itself and closing stores after its latest effort to manage its debt load unraveled amid the coronavirus pandemic. The health and wellness company’s Chapter 11 petition filed in US Bankruptcy Court in Delaware allows the retailer to keep operating and shut hundreds of underperforming stores. GNC planned a dual-track scenario where it will restructure its balance sheet through a stand-alone plan or sale of the company, according to a statement. GNC entered into the process with a potential buyer and agreement in principal with an affiliate of its largest shareholder, China-based Harbin Pharmaceutical Group Holding Co., the company said. Harbin and other potential coinvestors will serve as a so-called stalking-horse bidder of the company’s assets in a court-supervised sale process, according to filings."

You want the red pill or the blue pill?

"US safety officials will require all Boeing 737 Max airliners to be inspected for a manufacturing defect on engine coverings that they say could lead to loss of power during flights. Inspections and repairs, if needed, will be required before the grounded planes are allowed to fly again, according to a notice posted Wednesday by the Federal Aviation Administration. The problem is not related to the flight-control system that pushed planes into nosedives before two deadly Max crashes. Those crashes, in Indonesia and Ethiopia, killed 346 people. However, it is another blow to Boeing’s safety reputation. A spokesman for Chicago-based Boeing said the company recommended the inspections in December and has been working with airline customers to make sure the engine coverings are protected from electrical energy. All Max planes have been grounded since March 2019. The company needs clearance from the FAA before the planes can fly again."

You will be Freeeeeeeee, Free Falling:

"The pilots of a Pakistani airliner that crashed last month in Karachi were busy talking about the coronavirus and repeatedly ignored directions from air traffic controllers before their plane went down, killing 98 people, Pakistan’s aviation minister said Wednesday. The Pakistan International Airlines pilots also ignored automated warnings in the cockpit and failed to lower the landing gear, causing the plane’s engines to hit the runway, according to a preliminary report on the crash. The minister, Ghulam Sarwar Khan, said air traffic controllers warned three times that the plane was flying too high on its approach to the runway at Karachi’s airport and directed it not to land, “but the pilot ignored these warnings,” he said. The plane was carrying military officers, executives, and bankers from the eastern city of Lahore to Karachi on May 22 when it crashed into a residential area. Many passengers were headed to the port city to reunite with family for the Eid al-Fitr holiday after being in lockdown for two months. Pakistan is struggling to contain the coronavirus pandemic. The country has 188,926 officially confirmed cases, and 3,755 people have died."

All those important people aboard and they ignored warnings because they were talking corona?

C'mon!

You gotta come up with something better than that!

"India has set more record highs in daily reported cases and COVID-19 deaths. The 15,968 new confirmed coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours took the national total to 456,183. The Health Ministry on Wednesday also reported 465 more deaths, driving fatalities up to 14,476. The ministry said the recovery rate was continuing to improve at 56 percent. New Delhi and Mumbai continue to be the hardest-hit places. New Delhi is emerging as a cause of concern for the government and is being criticized for poor contact tracing and a lack of adequate hospital beds. The Indian Railways said it has deployed more than 500 railroad coaches at nine locations in the Indian capital to meet bed shortages."

Better get back up in the air:

"Swissport International AG plans to cut more than 4,500 jobs in Britain and Ireland as the world’s biggest provider of airport ground and cargo-handling services responds to a collapse in air travel. The Zurich-based company, which is owned by troubled Chinese conglomerate HNA Group Co., needs to reduce employment to cope with a 50 percent drop in revenue this year and secure vital funding from lenders and investors, according to an internal memo seen by Bloomberg."

Just going to fly right over these:

"Mongolians voted in parliamentary elections Wednesday across the vast, lightly populated country, a US ally squeezed between authoritarian governments in China and Russia. The polls were held amid considerable success in the country’s fight against the virus, with just 215 cases recorded and no deaths. People lining up to vote in the capital, Ulaanbaatar, were required to maintain a distance of 2 meters (6.5 feet) between them. Once inside the polling place, election workers checked their temperatures and distributed hand sanitizer. Economic malaise, corruption, and weak public services dominate concerns among the country’s 3.2 million people, about half of whom live in Ulaanbaatar."

"Kosovo’s President Hashim Thaci was indicted on a range of war crimes charges, including nearly 100 killings, a special prosecutor in The Hague announced Wednesday, just three days before the leader was due at the White House for a special summit with Serbia. The announcement of the 10-count indictment threw the summit into disarray....."

How Amazing!

Trump better get his head out of his ass because the entire globalist apparatus is sabotaging him at every turn.

"Turkey isn’t considering tightening its lockdown restrictions even though the number of daily coronavirus infections registered since they were eased is ‘‘higher than anticipated,” the health minister said Wednesday. Fahrettin Koca blamed the uptick in cases on widespread complacency and failure to comply with social distancing. Koca on Wednesday reported 1,492 new cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the total infections registered in the country since March to 191,657. He also said there were 24 new COVID-19 deaths, taking the total to 5,025....."

"French President Emmanuel Macron is planning a new virus furlough program that could see the state covering a large share of lost incomes for as long as two years to protect jobs. The extension of the key crisis-fighting tool comes as European governments figure out how to adapt vast emergency measures put in place to protect businesses and jobs during pandemic lockdowns. France’s emergency furlough is relatively generous and indiscriminate, with workers getting more than 84 percent of their net salaries. The government has budgeted 31 billion euros ($35 billion) for the measure in 2020, and requests so far cover more than 13 million employees. Starting July 1, it aims for a compromise between blanket support and more targeted aid, by getting labor unions and businesses to strike deals on a case-by-case basis. If both sides agree on a reduction of working time in exchange for job security, the government will pay 85 percent of furlough costs for as long as two years, an official said. That subsidy will decline slightly to 80 percent for deals signed after Oct. 1."

Then it is back the grindstone for Macron.

"CrossFit Inc.’s former chief executive has sold the fitness company he cofounded to an affiliate only weeks after Twitter postings sparked anger that led to his ouster. Greg Glassman sold the creator of exercise and nutrition regimes to Boulder, Colo.-based partner Eric Roza, according to a letter released on CrossFit’s Twitter account. Roza said in the letter he’s “deeply honored to have the opportunity to lead CrossFit through its next chapter as CEO and owner, following the closing next month.” Glassman stepped down earlier this month after calling civil unrest related to the death of George Floyd at the hands of police officers “FLOYD-19.” The post drew backlash from affiliate gym owners, employees, customers, and sponsors."

They hog-tied him and ran him out on a rail.
