Angry Canadians

They have EVERY RIGHT to be:

"In a video posted on Twitter Christmas Eve, the finance minister of Canada’s most populous province was shown sitting by a fireplace in a sweater with a gingerbread house and a little Christmas tree, drinking eggnog. “I want to thank every one of you for what we are doing to protect our most vulnerable,” Rod Phillips said about Ontarians staying home and avoiding nonessential travel because of the pandemic, but Phillips himself had been enjoying a Caribbean vacation since Dec. 13 on the French island of St. Barts, a popular spot for the rich and famous, even as his Twitter account suggested he was in snowbound Ontario. Now that word of his whereabouts has become public, he’s been summoned home by Premier Doug Ford, who promised a “very tough conversation” with Phillips. Opposition parties and health officials are calling for Phillips to be fired. Phillips arrived in Toronto Thursday and spoke to reporters before starting a mandatory 14-day quarantine. “It was a dumb, dumb mistake . . . ” Phillips said. ’'I know that people are understandably angry about the situation. I do hope to be able to regain their confidence in the days and weeks ahead.’'

He was also smoking a cigar while exhaling at the camera, and the petty tyrants just don't get it, huh?

People aren't just angry, they are f**king furious. Their lives have been destroyed by these out of touch a$$holes and they seem to have no concept at the criminal damage they have done.

That's why people are locked down. These criminal f**kers are finished if they ever let us out. That's why they are pushing so hard for the vaccinations, too, and accelerating the script:

"MUST READ — It’s A Script

by Kevin Boyle | Dec 20, 2020

The Liberal Party of Canada whistleblower released a document about two months ago. It was a timeline for the COVID-19 roll-out describing in broad steps how the COVID-19 crisis would lead us into ‘The Great Reset’.

A full copy of the document is printed below*. Please copy and check where we are on the timeline during the coming months.

For now, take a look at number 6 on the list:

6)   – Projected COVID-19 mutation and/or co-infection with secondary virus (referred to as COVID-21) leading to a third wave with much higher mortality rate and higher rate of infection. Expected by February 2021.

The “projected mutation” has been announced very recently in the UK. A new, faster-moving, more dangerous strain of Sars-Cov-2 is on the loose. It appears to have deformed itself into something quicker, more vicious and more dangerous within the large and beautiful county of Kent (probably to irritate its citizens, who have been unimpressed by COVID-19 and were complaining loudly about the ‘Tier 3′ restrictions about to be imposed on them).

Well, now they’re in (the newly invented, stricter) Tier 4. That’ll teach ’em.

We are told this new mutation has been identified, but we can’t yet be shown the ‘details’. Tricky science, you see.

How, one wonders, can anybody identify a mutation of a virus when no one has yet identified the original virus (Sars-Cov-2) from which it mutated?

Responses to FOI requests are very clear about this:

The DHSC holds NO INFORMATION relating to the isolation of the Sars-Cov-2 virus”.

In layman’s language this means that no one has ever been able to find it.

So, there we are …. the script moves on inexorably. Read it. Read it carefully.

At what point on the timeline do you think it likely that large numbers of us will get seriously engaged with the issue?

Let it be known to everyone around you. Information cannot be unlearned, only willfully ignored:

People who can plot out such a detailed timeline for medical disaster and profound political upheaval leading the whole world, just by chance, to the extreme end they openly desire … these people are CAUSING our medical disasters while pretending to protect us from them.

THIS IS OBVIOUS.

THEY ARE LIARS.

They LIE to us EVERY DAY.

They can use the phony PCR tests to manufacture whatever lockdown narrative they wish to impose on us. After severe lockdownswe can be told “the R-number has fallen”. If conditions are relaxed, then we will be told that rates have risen. A meaningless test, privately and anonymously managed, can easily be made to do this. One Corporate manager in the lab is all it takes.

They can make a portion of us very sick any time they like, simply by broadcasting a new 5G frequency into our living spaces. [If you doubt this read “The Invisible Rainbow” by Arthur Firstenberg]

The political and media class are in their pockets repeating whatever lies the criminals that own them choose to tell us. The Corporate social media only allows a single narrative on their platforms.

And yet they will lose.

I believe that the Luciferians at the top know this. Their purpose in this exercise is the destruction of souls. Those who have not tried to take full responsibility for their situation, if they wake up to reality late, will find themselves in a condition of extreme anger and, being unprepared, will struggle to manage and cast aside the demonic attachments, from which they came to earth to rid themselves.

That is the tragedy of these months, weeks, days and hours for those of good intention, that constitute the greater number on all sides of public opinion, even perhaps of the liars in the public square who deceive us.

(One can look into the eyes of those highly educated but terminally dopey newsreaders and wonder if they know what they are doing. I doubt it.)

*THE STATEMENT RELEASED BY THE LIBERAL PARTY OF CANADA WHISTLE-BLOWER

I want to provide you some very important information. I’m a committee member within the Liberal Party of Canada. I sit within several committee groups but the information I am providing is originating from the Strategic Planning committee (which is steered by the PMO).

I need to start off by saying that I’m not happy doing this but I have to. As a Canadian and more importantly as a parent who wants a better future not only for my children but for other children as well. The other reason I am doing this is because roughly 30% of the committee members are not pleased with the direction this will take Canada, but our opinions have been ignored and they plan on moving forward toward their goals. They have also made it very clear that nothing will stop the planned outcomes.

The road map and aim was set out by the PMO and is as follows:

1)  – Phase in secondary lock down restrictions on a rolling basis, starting with major metropolitan areas first and expanding outward. Expected by November 2020.

2) – Rush the acquisition of (or construction of) isolation facilities across every province and territory. Expected by December 2020.

3)– Daily new cases of COVID-19 will surge beyond capacity of testing, including increases in COVID related deaths following the same growth curves. Expected by end of November 2020.

4) – Complete and total secondary lock down (much stricter than the first and second rolling phase restrictions). Expected by end of December 2020 – early January 2021

5) – Reform and expansion of the unemployment program to be transitioned into the universal basic income program. Expected by Q1 2021.

6) – Projected COVID-19 mutation and/or co-infection with secondary virus (referred to as COVID-21) leading to a third wave with much higher mortality rate and higher rate of infection. Expected by February 2021.

7) – Daily new cases of COVID-21 hospitalizations and COVID-19 and COVID-21 related deaths will exceed medical care facilities capacity. Expected Q1 – Q2 2021.

8) – Enhanced lock down restrictions (referred to as Third Lock Down) will be implemented. Full travel restrictions will be imposed (including inter-province and inter-city). Expected Q2 2021.

9) – Transitioning of individuals into the universal basic income program. Expected mid Q2 2021.

10) – Projected supply chain break downs, inventory shortages, large economic instability. Expected late Q2 2021.

11) – Deployment of military personnel into major metropolitan areas as well as all major roadways to establish travel checkpoints. Restrict travel and movement. Provide logistical support to the area. Expected by Q3 2021.

Along with that provided road map the Strategic Planning committee was asked to design an effective way of transitioning Canadians to meet a unprecedented economic endeavour. One that would change the face of Canada and forever alter the lives of Canadians. What we were told was that in order to offset what was essentially an economic collapse on a international scale, that the federal government was going to offer Canadians a total debt relief.

12) –This is how it works: the federal government will offer to eliminate all personal debts (mortgages, loans, credit cards, etc) which all funding will be provided to Canada by the IMF under what will become known as the World Debt Reset program. In exchange for acceptance of this total debt forgiveness the individual would forfeit ownership of any and all property and assets forever. The individual would also have to agree to partake in the COVID-19 and COVID-21 vaccination schedule, which would provide the individual with unrestricted travel and unrestricted living even under a full lock down (through the use of photo identification referred to as Canada’s HealthPass) .

Committee members asked who would become the owner of the forfeited property and assets in that scenario and what would happen to lenders or financial institutions, we were simply told “the World Debt Reset program will handle all of the details”. Several committee members also questioned what would happen to individuals if they refused to participate in the World Debt Reset program, or the HealthPass, or the vaccination schedule, and the answer we got was very troubling. Essentially we were told it was our duty to make sure we came up with a plan to ensure that would never happen. We were told it was in the individuals best interest to participate. When several committee members pushed relentlessly to get an answer we were told that those who refused would first live under the lock down restrictions indefinitely. And that over a short period of time as more Canadians transitioned into the debt forgiveness program, the ones who refused to participate would be deemed a public safety risk and would be relocated into isolation facilities. Once in those facilities they would be given two options, participate in the debt forgiveness program and be released, or stay indefinitely in the isolation facility under the classification of a serious public health risk and have all their assets seized.

So as you can imagine after hearing all of this it turned into quite the heated discussion and escalated beyond anything I’ve ever witnessed before. In the end it was implied by the PMO that the whole agenda will move forward no matter who agrees with it or not. That it wont just be Canada but in fact all nations will have similar roadmaps and agendas. That we need to take advantage of the situations before us to promote change on a grander scale for the betterment of everyone. The members who were opposed and ones who brought up key issues that would arise from such a thing were completely ignored. Our opinions and concerns were ignored. We were simply told to just do it.

All I know is that I don’t like it and I think it's going to place Canadians into a dark future.

"Canada on Wednesday become only the second Western country to approve a coronavirus vaccine, a week after Britain did so and a day before U.S. regulators will meet to consider taking that step, opening the possibility that Canadians will start being inoculated next week. The regulatory agency Health Canada approved the same vaccine, created by the American company Pfizer and a German firm, BioNTech, that was authorized in Britain and is up for a decision in the United States. Health Canada said that it had completed a rigorous, independent review of the data from clinical trials on the vaccine’s safety and effectiveness, which involved tens of thousands of people — the same kind of scrutiny applied by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. British regulators, in giving emergency approval, relied largely on Pfizer’s own analysis of that data, the standard approach in much of the world. Bahrain approved the same vaccine on Friday. The go-ahead means that Canadians could receive the vaccine — which requires two doses, weeks apart — before Americans do, though Pfizer is based in the United States. The first shipments to Canada, which will total 249,000 doses by the end of the month, will come from a plant in Belgium, officials said. Other vaccines are close behind in the approval processes in Europe and North America, and still others are in development. Vaccines developed in Russia and China are already in use, though clinical trials on them are still underway. Canada, which has a population of 38 million, has agreed to buy up to 76 million doses from Pfizer, and 414 million doses of other potential vaccines from other companies, but the rollout will take months."

If they have a population of 38 million (something my printed paper cut and censored), why would they need $o many do$es?

"Canada’s move marks another milestone in the global fight against a pandemic that has killed more than 1.5 million people, continues to spread rapidly and has driven the world into a deep economic crisis. “It’s a testament to the work of regulators internationally,” said Dr. Supriya Sharma, the chief medical adviser at Health Canada, the regulator. “It’s an exceptional day for Canada.” That is likely to aggravate President Trump, who has demanded faster action by the F.D.A. and was angry that Britain, which began inoculating people on Tuesday, had acted before the United States.

Is it just me, or is the TDS shit sickening?

He's fucking on his way out and they are still booting him in the ass.

Maj.-Gen. Dany Fortin, the Canadian military officer overseeing the distribution of the vaccine to provincial health care systems, said that Pfizer would start shipping it from a plant in Belgium on Friday. That could make it possible, he said, for Canadians to begin receiving shots as early as next Wednesday. The vaccine must be kept at extremely cold temperatures until within a few days of use, making transportation and storage a challenge. Once it reaches Canada, it cannot be used right away because it must be thawed and prepared for injection. Canada has 14 depots across the country with special freezers for the vaccine. General Fortin said it would initially be distributed to all 10 provinces, which would then be responsible for injecting people.

Officials said the far northern territories, which are not equipped to handle the logistical challenges that go with the Pfizer-BioNTech shot, would have to wait for another vaccine. It will be up to Canada’s provincial governments to decide who will be vaccinated first. Dr. Howard Njoo, the country’s deputy chief public health officer, said a federal panel has recommended that the first injections go to people over the age of 80, residents and workers of long-term care homes, health workers and Indigenous communities. François Legault, the premier of Quebec, said his province would first target long-term care homes, which have been the main source of Covid-related deaths in the province.

That's criminal, mass-murdering leaders from the local levels on up placed sick people into those homes, whatever illness they had for COVID-19 has not been isolated and is increasingly looking like seasonal cold and flu, with the possibility that it is a low-level bioweapon to be followed up on increasingly remote but not beyond the realm of possibility.

Dr. Sharma said that the vaccine had been subjected to the same degree of scrutiny as any previous drug or vaccine, but to accelerate the process, Health Canada reviewed data from clinical trials and manufacturing tests as the data was being generated, allowing for a “rolling review.” In the past, the department only opened reviews when all trials and tests were complete. She said that the final data needed for approval arrived late Tuesday evening and was reviewed overnight, which allowed the approval to go forward.

Good Lord, they are as bad as the U.S. Congre$$!

For now, Health Canada has approved the vaccine only for people over the age of 16; it is waiting for further data from Pfizer before approving it for children. Canada’s review, Dr. Sharma said, supported Pfizer’s finding that the vaccine was 95 percent effective. It remains unclear how long the resulting immunity last. Canada is currently reviewing three other vaccines for approval. One developed by another American company, Moderna, and the National Institutes of Health, is the farthest along, Dr. Sharma said — as it is in the United States. Other officials have predicted that Canada will administer 2 million doses of the Moderna-N.I.H. vaccine plus 4 million doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine during the first three months of 2021. When asked why her group was able to approve the vaccine ahead of the F.D.A. in the United States, Dr. Sharma said, apparently jokingly, “we’re just better.” She added, “We’re not in a race with any other regulator, we’re trying to beat the virus.”

OMFG!!

I guess she just “says whatever they write down for [her]” without realizing how goddamn insulting it is!

I'm told COVID-19 has created hardship and heartache along the Canadian border, with tough entry restrictions on both sides that have kept families apart, choked commerce, and upended the social habits of people in the age of COVID-19.

How the vaccine will compare with Britain and the US will be determined after the shipments arrive, leaving health workers with tears of relief -- although there will be no snowbirding this year:

"Loss of ‘snowbirds’ amid pandemic another hit to US tourism" by Terry Tang and Terry Spencer The Associated Press, December 12, 2020

PHOENIX — This is the first winter in five years that Steve Monk and his wife, Linda, haven’t driven to Arizona from their home in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.

They typically leave Canada to hunker down in warmer climates for six months. They could fly, skirting travel restrictions at the border, but they’d rather “freeze their buns off” than go to the U.S., where COVID-19 infections and deaths are surging.

“It’s not worth taking a chance. It’s not nearly as bad in this country as it is down there," said Monk, 69. "Pretty much every Canadian person we do know that goes down (to the U.S.) is not going. It’s pretty widespread.”

“Snowbirds" like the Monks, often retirees who live somewhere warm like Arizona or Florida part time to escape cold weather, won't be flocking south this winter. For Canadians who drive, nonessential border travel is banned until at least Dec. 21. For some, it's fear of the virus.

While their absence is being felt by vacation rentals, restaurants and shops, RV parks and campgrounds are seeing an increase in campers as people travel closer to home.

A huge chunk of the snowbird population is Canadian. Evan Rachkovsky of the Canadian Snowbird Association said most people he’s spoken with are suspending trips to the U.S., but some are still adamant about going.

For those who go, they may face recommendations to quarantine for up to two weeks, though states often don't enforce it. They're also going into communities where hospitals are normally busiest during the winter months, and COVID-19 could overwhelm them.

Health insurance hurdles are deterring retired Toronto accountant Mel Greenglass, who for almost a decade has spent four months in southwest Florida near Naples. It's easier for those who don't have international borders to cross. Kathy Scott, 73, and her 81-year-old husband intend to make their annual drive from Salt Lake City to Arizona after Christmas.

Scott said she plans to mask up and practice social distancing to avoid burdening the medical system, adding that she's “not having any problem asking people about having been tested, about quarantining, about where they’ve been."

Snowbirds' plans have a huge impact on tourism in Florida.....

I hope you had your shitshoes on for that.

"Opponents of a 145-mile electricity transmission corridor aimed at bringing Canadian hydropower to the New England grid are asking a federal appeals court to delay construction set to begin in January. Denied a preliminary injunction by a federal judge last week in Maine, three conservation groups filed the new request late Wednesday with the US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit in Boston. They contend the federal judge’s ruling was too narrow and overlooked potential environmental harms. They asked for a ruling by Jan. 15. Thorn Dickinson, CEO and president of project developer NECEC LLC., called the 11th-hour legal maneuver a “desperate effort” and said workers intend to break ground “in the coming weeks.” The Sierra Club, Appalachian Mountain Club, and Natural Resources Council want the Army Corps of Engineers, which approved the project, to conduct a more rigorous environmental impact statement instead of the less-stringent environmental assessment. The $1 billion New England Clean Energy Connect would provide a conduit for up to 1,200 megawatts of Canadian hydropower to reach the New England power grid. Much of the project would follow existing utility corridors but a new swath would be cut through 53 miles of wilderness. Supporters say the project would reduce greenhouse emissions and stabilize energy costs in the region. Critics say that the benefits are overstated and that the project would destroy unspoiled wilderness."

COVID an Opportunity for California to Experiment

They are $etting the trend to the Great Re$et this time:

"Calamities -- along with high costs -- challenge California’s $3 trillion economy" by Conor Dougherty New York Times, October 5, 2020

SAN FRANCISCO — Businesses shuttered by the pandemic are slowly reopening, but technology complexes are quiet, their workers carrying on from home indefinitely. The smoke-filled skies had started to clear, but new fires have arrived in a fierce wildfire season that shows the intensifying effects of climate change.

Not necessarily, but that is part of the whole ball of wax that the WEF calls $u$tainable development -- which is nothing more than a fancy phrase for eat $hit.

Now California and its $3 trillion economy are confronting a profound question: How much will go back to normal, and how much has been permanently changed?

An Economy in Transition

This is still the home of 40 million people, Hollywood, Silicon Valley, and the country’s largest farming industry and port complex. In August, amid the pandemic, Apple became a $2 trillion company, just two years after hitting $1 trillion, but the message from the recent calamities is clear. If California is to continue leading the nation’s economy deep into the future, its leaders and residents will have to rethink where and how the state grows.

For decades, California has operated under a trade-off: In exchange for high taxes and a high cost of living, its companies reap the rewards of an educated populace, an inviting lifestyle, and a culture of innovation.

The events of 2020 have forced a closer look at the calculus. While the state is recovering from the coronavirus, an assessment from the UCLA Anderson Forecast predicts it will be at least two years before the economy has fully recovered. Mirroring the national economy, office vacancies are rising, small businesses are teetering, and temporary layoffs are being made permanent.

Superficially, the forecasts for California are no better or worse than for the nation, with some sectors, like tourism, badly hurt, and others, like technology, barely touched, but between climate change and remote work, the state is facing questions that uniquely cut to the core of its economic identity.

In the case of the pandemic, companies may increasingly ask whether the high cost of California cities is worth it if their workers can work remotely with the same productivity. Some companies may choose to leave the state, and the spate of wildfires has brought new scrutiny to the spread-out development patterns that have accommodated an expanding population — and pushed people to cheaper inland areas most exposed to fire.

Some are suggesting they are directed energy weapons, and there would seem to be some evidence for that; however, what we do know is that official explanations are BS.

The goal is to get those people to move back to the cities, per the WEF plan.

“These have long been questions that have been in the back of people’s minds, but now there’s an actual drill,” said Ted Egan, chief economist for the City of San Francisco.

Companies have long moved sales and customer-service jobs to cheaper cities like Phoenix, but they have been more reluctant to do so in areas like software engineering and management, figuring that proximity to the talent, research universities and venture capital in the tech epicenter outweighed the higher cost of labor.

Even before the pandemic, there were indications that was starting to shift. Silicon Valley companies were increasingly putting jobs in engineering hubs in cities like Austin, Texas, and Toronto. Now they have an opportunity to run a remote-working experiment on a scale that would not have otherwise been tried.

Hmmmmmmmmm!

COVID is a cover and accelerant for a multitude of agendas.

Google and Facebook have said they will allow employees to work remotely until 2021. Stripe, a payments company, recently announced it would pay employees $20,000 to leave the San Francisco Bay Area if they accepted a salary reduction of up to 10 percent based on the cost of living wherever they went. Citing a shift toward more employees working from home, Pinterest, which allows people to save images to virtual pinboards, paid $90 million to cancel a lease for 500,000 square feet in an unbuilt office building in San Francisco.

Maybe they can get a second job cleaning the streets of shit.

Nobody knows how efficient large-scale remote work will be over time, or if such arrangements will be attractive once people feel safe on public transportation and urban amenities like bars and restaurants have reopened, but if workers untethered from their offices flee the state, or companies start basing more highly paid workers elsewhere, it will have huge ramifications for California’s outlook.

The past decade of economic expansion was heavily indebted to the boom in technology, and the state’s budget, with its highly progressive tax structure, is unusually dependent on wealthier residents.

State governments will soon be relics of the past (like Confederates), to be rep-laced by regional arrangements before the complete formation of a one-world $uper-authority.

Despite the diversity of California’s vast economy, there is near-universal agreement on one barrier to growth: the exorbitant cost of housing. The median price for single-family homes and condos in the state is closing in on $600,000, according to the real estate site Zillow, more than twice the national level. The figure reflects a longstanding shortage that has also caused rising rents, crowded households, and two-hour commutes that are used to offset the cost of living. Much more than taxes, the reason that companies move jobs out of the state is lower-priced housing and the lower labor costs that go with it.

Enjoy the Communi$m!

Economists and planners have long counseled that the best way to relieve this pressure is to build more housing near the coastal job centers, but California has continued to sprawl, a pattern that has undermined the state’s own emission-reduction goals by encouraging longer commutes, while placing more homes in fire zones.

“Climate change is here — this is not some far-off theoretical thing — and we build houses over a multi-decade time frame in which they are going to be standing in these areas well into the time when the impact on the climate will be much more severe,” said Kate Gordon, senior adviser to Goveror Gavin Newsom.....

How is the recall effort going out there?

The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation houses men and women in separate facilities. Transgender inmates are often housed based on their sex assigned at birth. The law Newsom signed Saturday says officers must ask inmates privately during the intake process if they identify as transgender, nonbinary or intersex. Those inmates can then request to be placed in a facility that houses either men or women. The law says the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation cannot deny those requests solely because of inmates' anatomy, sexual orientation or a factor present'' among other inmates at the facility, but the state can deny those requests if it has "management or security concerns.'' If a request is denied, the state must give the inmate a written statement explaining the decision and give the inmate a "meaningful opportunity'' to object....."

Newsom is the one who belongs in prison.

"A Los Angeles Police Department officer suffered minor injuries during an altercation in a police station with a man who wrestled away the officer’s gun, fired it and then ran when another officer shot at him, authorities said. The suspect, who was not wounded, got into a vehicle and drove off, police said. Officers stopped him a short distance away and he was arrested. The incident inside the Harbor Station in the Sen Pedro area of Los Angeles unfolded late Saturday night. The suspect walked into the lobby and an officer came out to talk with him. “It escalated into some type of altercation,” Chief Michel Moore said at a news conference outside the hospital where the officer was being treated....."

They busted his getaway driver:

"A woman was charged with attempted murder after the car she was driving struck two people during a demonstration for racial justice in California that clashed with a counterprotest on Saturday, the authorities said. The driver, Tatiana Turner, of Long Beach, Calif., was also charged with assault with a deadly weapon, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release. The protest, which took place in Yorba Linda, about 35 miles southeast of Los Angeles, was organized by Caravan4Justice, a grass roots protest group that campaigns against police brutality. It was met by a group of counterprotesters, some waving “Trump 2020” flags and wearing “Make America Great Again” hats. The police estimated that a total of 150 people from both contingents began protesting at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Thirty minutes later, the police said the crowd swelled to about 250 people. The groups began to clash and scream at each other, videos show. The Sheriff’s Department said it received reports of demonstrators carrying weapons and “physical altercations” between the groups, with at least one protester pepper-spraying another. The authorities declared the gathering an unlawful assembly and told the crowds to disperse, the department said. After several dispersal orders, a white sedan in the Yorba Linda Public Library parking lot, driven by Ms. Turner, lurched through a crowd and hit two people, a man and a woman, the police said. Ms. Turner, who officials said was attending the protest as part of the Caravan4Justice group, continued driving as a swarm of protesters tried to stop her car. She was taken into custody at the scene. It was not immediately clear on Sunday whether Ms. Turner, 40, had a lawyer. The two injured were taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening and were expected to survive, Carrie Braun, a spokeswoman for the Sheriff’s Department, said on Sunday....."

Didn't get nearly the pre$$ that the hit-and-run in Charlottesville did..

".... It was unclear whether they were part of the Caravan4Justice group or the counterprotest group because both groups had converged at the time, she said. On Thursday, a driver plowed through a crowd of people in Hollywood who were protesting the decision not to charge the Louisville police officers involved in the killing of Breonna Taylor during a botched raid of her apartment in March. There have been dozens of similar incidents involving cars striking demonstrators at protests against racism and police brutality across the country in the months since George Floyd died in police custody in Minneapolis in May. In Bloomington, Ind., a woman who was accused of driving her car through a crowd of protesters, injuring at least two people, was charged with two counts of criminal recklessness, a felony, and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious bodily injury. In Seattle, the authorities said a man drove into a protest, killing one demonstrator. He was charged with vehicular homicide, vehicular assault and reckless driving, and a man was arrested in June in Brooklyn after striking at least one person with his car during a Black Lives Matter march."

The whole agenda was given the gas in Minneapolis, and maybe you should move to Oregon -- if you have the energy:

"California’s largest utility, PG&E Corp., named Patricia K. Poppe as its new chief executive officer to lead the energy giant as it struggles to regain public trust after its equipment sparked deadly wildfires that drove the company into bankruptcy last year. Poppe, who currently runs Michigan-based CMS Energy Corp., will be PG&E’s third CEO in the past two years. The stakes are high for the century-old utility. It pleaded guilty in June to 84 counts of involuntary manslaughter for its role in starting the Camp Fire, which destroyed the town of Paradise in 2018. Regulators have put in place oversight measures that could include a state takeover if the company causes another catastrophic blaze as drought and extreme weather have made California increasingly prone to wildfires."

I am of the belief that nefarious forces are piling on the alleged downing of power lines and lightning strikes.

{@@##$$%%^^&&}

Back into lockdown:

"California officials on Thursday announced a curfew aimed at quickly curbing a surge of coronavirus infections, prohibiting nearly all residents of the state, the nation’s most populous, from leaving their homes to do nonessential work or to gather from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., in the most severe lockdown since the state put in place its first stay-at-home order in March. “We are sounding the alarm,” Gov. Gavin Newsom said in a statement. “It is crucial that we act to decrease transmission and slow hospitalizations before the death count surges. We’ve done it before and we must do it again.”

It didn't work last time, so WTF?

The new stay-at-home order is described as more limited than the spring order; in addition to applying only overnight, it has a built-in expiration date for now, and applies only to so-called purple tier counties, which are under the state’s most stringent restrictions in its reopening plan. It will go into effect Saturday night and will remain in place until the morning of Dec. 21. As in the spring order, residents can still go outside for walks or to go to work in what are deemed essential jobs, like in grocery stores, and it doesn’t apply to people experiencing homelessness. Restaurants, which are deemed essential, can continue to do takeout and delivery, but it effectively forces all restaurants to close in-person operations at 10 p.m., even if they are operating outdoors. As with the spring order, it is likely to be enforced differently across the state, depending on the severity of violations and the attitudes of local leaders.

Yeah, there are a bunch of cities and counties that are telling the him to f**k off, and rightly so.

Btw, the order is now indefinite.

Officials didn’t make clear what enforcement might look like. The move comes amid what California officials and experts have described as an alarming — but not yet irreversible — wave of new infections, heading into a dangerous Thanksgiving week. According to The Times’s database, the state was reporting a weekly average of 9,974 new cases per day, more than double the average two weeks ago.

All based on a flawed and faulty technique of amplification they call a test.

On Monday, Mr. Newsom said that the state was “pulling the emergency brake” on its reopening plan, which sorts counties across the geographically and demographically varied expanse that is California into levels of restriction based on their case numbers and positivity rates. Counties where more than 94 percent of the state’s population lives — including Los Angeles, Orange, Santa Clara and San Diego Counties — fall into the state’s most restrictive purple tier, meaning most businesses had to shut down or cut back on indoor operations. Indoor restaurants were closed. Arenas and other sites where the state set up extra health care space earlier in the pandemic were once again being prepared to quickly receive patients, if hospitals become overwhelmed, and the governor on Monday had hinted that more restrictions, including the curfew, could be on the way. Officials in Los Angeles County — which has for months struggled more than many other parts of the state — also announced more stringent restrictions than required by the state, including a curfew for restaurants and nonessential stores. Starting on Friday, they must close from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. The county ordered restaurants operating outdoors to halve their capacity, and officials said they may be forced to resort to restrictions more like the aggressive lockdown that kept Californians at home in March if conditions do not quickly improve.

They all then went out to eat!

Earlier in the week, Dr. Bob Wachter, a professor and chair of the University of California, San Francisco’s department of medicine, said that the state’s actions were warranted to curb the spread of the virus, particularly in light of the imminent holiday. “Whether or not it’s enough, I guess we’ll see,” he said. A Times analysis shows that states that imposed more restrictions have less bad outbreaks, and California was the first state to put in place a stay-at-home order in March. Less is known specifically about the effectiveness of curfews, but New York officials recently took a similar step. According to Curbed, many public health officials described measures like the one that California announced on Thursday as weaker stay-at-home orders, not curfews, and see them as less helpful than more targeted guidance. Mr. Newsom announced the curfew in a news release, foregoing his usual lengthy virtual news conference, in the wake of stinging criticism and outrage over his decision to attend a high-dollar dinner celebrating a lobbyist friend’s birthday at the French Laundry, a Napa Valley destination, along with members of several other households. Critics said that Mr. Newsom undermined the spirit of the restrictions he has so intensely promoted — even to the point of scolding residents for gathering in too-large groups or embracing their loved ones. On Monday, he apologized, calling it a “bad mistake.”

Apology NOT ACCEPTED, a$$hole!

"California’s intensive care units could be overloaded by the middle of December, and its hospitals could be dangerously close to full by Christmas, according to sobering projections that Gov. Gavin Newsom presented on Monday, and the strain could be even worse in the hardest-hit areas, like the San Joaquin Valley, which was projected to reach 83 percent of its hospital capacity by Dec. 24. “If these trends continue, California will need to take drastic action,” Mr. Newsom said during a virtual briefing, adding that more severe restrictions, including full stay-at-home orders, could come within the next few days. California is one of several states that had appeared to have gained control of the virus, only to see it spread rapidly throughout the fall. On Sunday it became the first state to record over 100,000 cases in just a week, according to a New York Times database. A University of Arizona Covid-19 modeling team recently urged the state of Arizona to take action to stem hospitalizations or else “risk a catastrophe on a scale of the worst natural disaster the state has ever experienced. Already, 99 percent of California’s residents are under a curfew that bans them from leaving their homes to gather or to go to nonessential businesses after 10 p.m. Los Angeles County health leaders have gone even further, announcing a ban on all gatherings in public or at private homes that goes into effect on Monday.

They are already under restrictions and a sweeping new lockdown, and the over-the-top hyperbole regarding a warming planet and rerun of overflowing hospitals that are all empty and quiet is sickening.

The surge has upended some marquee elements of California’s sports and entertainment scenes. The San Francisco 49ers will play their next two home games in Glendale, Ariz., after health officials in Santa Clara County, Calif., where the team’s stadium is, banned contact sports at all levels through late December in a bid to slow the surge in virus infections there. The U.C.L.A. men’s basketball team announced that its home opener, scheduled for Monday, was being postponed because of its opponent’s virus protocol. In Los Angeles, residents complained on Monday that a feature film shoot that had been permitted by the city and county’s official film office had shut down a coronavirus testing kiosk at Union Station for a day. City officials said that residents who had testing appointments for Tuesday would be accommodated at any of the city’s other testing locations. Officials had spent the weekend talking with local leaders and health care providers about their concerns, said Dr. Mark Ghaly, the state’s secretary of health and human services, who also spoke during the Monday briefing. “Everything is on the table, in terms of how we guide the state through this,” he said, “and we want to make sure what we do is impactful and as time-limited as possible,” but unlike early in the pandemic, when just a few coastal states bore the brunt, the governor noted that the tidal wave of cases slamming the entire country has limited the likelihood of aid from the federal government or other states.

Honestly, who gives a f**k about the marquee elements of California’s sports and entertainment scenes?

I know I don't.

The total number of coronavirus cases in the United States for November surpassed four million on Saturday, more than double the record set in October of 1.9 million cases, and the sharp escalation is likely to continue after Americans traveled by the millions for the long Thanksgiving weekend. By contrast, after three weeks of lockdown in England, the number of new cases has fallen 30 percent, according to new data....."

Don't let any of them in here, what with the new mutation and all.

"More than 1 million people have passed through U.S. airport security checkpoints in each of the past two days in a sign that public health pleas to avoid holiday travel are being ignored, despite an alarming surge in COVID-19 cases. Although lockdowns are no longer in effect in many parts of the country, stay-at-home orders have returned in some areas in effort to contain the virus. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issued an advisory declaring “postponing travel and staying home is the best way to protect yourself and others from COVID-19.” Nevertheless, about 1.07 million people passed through the security checkpoints at U.S. airports on Friday and again on Saturday, according to the Transportation Security Administration. Saturday’s volume was down 57% from the same time last year, the smallest year-over-year decline in daily traffic at U.S. airports since Nov. 22 as people began their Thanksgiving getaways. If that early trend continues, U.S. public health officials fear it will lead to more superspreader events as people unwittingly transmit the virus to family and friends while gathering indoors for holiday celebrations. Health officials note the upcoming holiday period from Christmas to New Year’s Day covers a longer timespan than the Thanksgiving break....."

They carried it to mostly virus-free Kauai, and did you notice that Black Friday was not a problem?

"The health officers in five San Francisco Bay Area counties issued a new stay-at-home order Friday requiring some businesses to close and banning all gatherings, as the number of virus cases surge and hospitals fill. The changes take effect for most of the area at 10 p.m. Sunday and last through Jan. 4. Restaurants will have to close to indoor and outdoor dining, and bars and wineries must close along with hair and nail salons and playgrounds. Retail stores and shopping centers can operate with just 20% customer capacity. Gatherings of any size with people outside a household are banned. The new stay-at-home order will cut sharply into the most profitable shopping season and threaten financial ruin for businesses already struggling after 10 months of on-again, off-again restrictions and slow sales because of the pandemic....."

Yup, cancel everything as those who give the tyrannical orders literally laugh in your face out there -- or worse:

"Nissan Motor Co. is withdrawing its support for the Trump administration in a federal lawsuit over California’s right to set its own auto emission standards, the latest sign of the rapidly shifting politics of gas mileage rules since Joe Biden won the 2020 presidential election....."

PFFFFFT!

"California on Thursday surpassed 25,000 coronavirus deaths since the start of the pandemic, the third state to do so after New York and Texas, health officials said. The grim milestone comes as the nation’s most-populated state faces a surge of COVID-19 infections that has hospitals stretched to capacity and forced nurses and doctors to treat more patients than usual. California also has confirmed the second reported US case of a mutant variant of the coronavirus that appears to be more contagious. The state Department of Public Health says hospitals in Southern California and the agricultural San Joaquin Valley, which together account for a large majority of the state’s 40 million residents, have no capacity left in intensive care units to treat COVID-19 patients. Hospitals are housing patients in hallways, conference rooms, a cafeteria, and gift shops. Makeshift hospitals are being set up in tents, arenas, and schools. California was the third state to reach 25,000 deaths, behind New York, which has nearly 38,000 deaths, and Texas, which has more than 27,000, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University. California’s reported its first case of COVID-19 in late January. It recorded it’s 10,000th death from the virus in August. This week, Los Angeles County reached a “terrible milestone,” with 274 additional deaths in 24 hours for a record toll of 10,056 deaths, said Dr. Barbara Ferrer, the county health director. The nation’s most-populated county has had about 40 percent of California’s virus deaths. Most of the state is under newly extended restrictions that have closed or reduced capacity of businesses, and people are being urged to stay home as much as possible to try to slow the spread of infections. Meanwhile, California became the second state after Colorado to report finding a new strain of the virus that was first confirmed in the United Kingdom. The patient, who developed symptoms on Dec. 27, is a 30-year-old San Diego County man who didn’t have any history of travel, which could indicate that someone else already had brought the new strain into the state, officials said (ASSOCIATED PRESS)."

Are you sick of all the cover-their-ass qualifiers in the reporting?

I know I am.

Nothing left to do other than pray to God and thank Him for Gorsuch.

Cutting Back on the Computer

"Broadband provider Comcast is delivering an unwelcome choice of holiday gifts to hardcore Internet users. They can either cut back on their online usage, or prepare to pay more. Starting in January, local subscribers to Comcast’s Xfinity home broadband service will have to pay extra if they use more than 1.2 terabytes of data per month. The new caps will go into effect in January and will apply to Xfinity users in Massachusetts, 11 other states in the northeastern United States, and in the District of Columbia. Customers who exceed the cap will automatically be charged an additional $10 per month for an additional 50 gigabytes of data, or they can pay $11 per month for unlimited access. For the first two months of the new policy, Xfinity will waive the additional fee to help customers “understand how the new 1.2 TB Internet Data Plan affects them.” In addition, Xfinity will waive the extra fee for customers who exceed the data cap for one month per year. A Comcast spokesperson said that the new policy change should affect only about 5 percent of its customers, and that the average customer uses only about 308 gigabytes of data per month. Comcast has long applied data caps in most of the 39 statescq it serves, but up to now, the company has not applied such limits in the northeastern United States, where Xfinity faces competition from Verizon Communication’s Fios service, which does not impose data caps on consumers."

"Comcast will charge more for house calls" by Hiawatha Bray Globe Staff, December 24, 2020

Starting next year, a visit from the cable guy will cost you more. Comcast Corp. has raised its charges for house calls.

The giant cable company, which serves 1.9 million users in Greater Boston, New Hampshire and Maine, will charge $100 to install cable service, effective Jan. 1. That’s up from a current price of $79. In addition, Comcast will charge $70 for in-house service calls, up from $40.

In an e-mailed statement, the company said that “rising programming costs — most notably for broadcast TV and sports — continue to be the biggest factors driving price increases for all content distributors and their customers, not just Comcast.”

A spokesman added that the majority of new Comcast subscribers install the cable equipment themselves and therefore don’t pay for installation. In addition, the company doesn’t charge for in-house service calls to repair defective equipment, but a customer would be charged for a visit to install additional features — for instance, adding a new cable jack to a bedroom.

Comcast’s new installation price is about the same as the $99 charged by its rival Verizon Communications, which also offers service in the Boston area. Verizon charges up to $100 for an in-home service visit. Another provider, RCN, charges $50 for installation and the same for in-home visits.

The Comcast increase comes amid several other fee hikes. The company recently raised the cost of regional sports TV programming to $10.75 a month, and starting next year, Comcast will begin enforcing a monthly data cap on broadband Internet services. Customers who upload and download more than 1.2 terabytes of data per month will be charged an additional $10 per month for an additional 50 gigabytes of data, or they can pay $11 per month for unlimited access.

Time to cancel the $ports package.

A Twitch in Times....

"Twitch Cracks Down on Hate Speech and Harassment" by Kellen Browning New York Times, Dec. 9, 2020

Twitch, the livestreaming platform popular among video game players, unveiled new guidelines on Wednesday aimed at cracking down on hateful conduct and sexual harassment on its site.

The site, which is owned by Amazon, said it had broadened its definition of sexual harassment and separated such violations into a new category for the first time so it could take more action against them. Under the new guidelines, Twitch will ban lewd or repeated comments about anyone’s physical appearance and expressly prohibit the sending of unsolicited links to nudity.

The company also said it would prohibit streamers from displaying the Confederate battle flag and take stricter action against those who target someone’s immigration status. Violators could receive warnings, temporary suspensions or permanent bans from the platform.

Twitch said the changes were its most significant policy updates in almost three years. They followed a nearly yearlong review that included consultations with streamers and academics who study cyberbullying, diversity and inclusion, the company said. The new standards will take effect in January.

“We need to ensure that anyone who shows up on Twitch feels safe and confident that they can broadcast without harassment,” Sara Clemens, Twitch’s chief operating officer, said in an interview. “There are constituents on Twitch, particularly underrepresented minority groups, who experience a disproportionate amount of harassment and abuse online.”

For years, Twitch has been dogged by claims that viewers could easily harass streamers with sexually explicit comments and threatening messages. On the platform, people can broadcast themselves playing video games or just talking, and their audiences can interact with them through a text chat in real time. Twitch streamers themselves are largely responsible for ensuring their audiences follow the platform’s rules, such as by employing Twitch’s moderation tools in chats.

The company created stricter policies in 2018, but came under fire over the summer after dozens of gamers and streamers — mostly women — publicly shared that they had been sexually harassed and assaulted by others in the gaming industry, including on Twitch.

In June, streamers organized a one-day “Twitch blackout,” when some abstained from broadcasting on the platform to pressure it to investigate and address the accusations. The company said at the time that it would permanently ban severe offenders and improve its handling of reported harassment.

That same month, Twitch temporarily suspended President Trump’s Twitch channel for “hateful conduct.” The channel had streamed his rallies, which included comments that Mexico sent drugs, crime and rapists over the border, and that a “very tough hombre” broke into a woman’s house. Other social media platforms, such as Facebook and Twitter, have also been under pressure to remove hate speech and misinformation.

Kenzie Gordon, a Ph.D. student at the University of Alberta who studies how games can be used to prevent sexual and domestic violence, said the new policies appeared to be “very thorough and comprehensive,” but how they are enforced, she said, will determine whether they are effective.

“By making creators responsible for moderating the policy on their own channels, they have put most of the work of enforcement onto people who were already vulnerable to abuse,” Ms. Gordon said of Twitch. “We’ll have to see how effectively they support streamers who are trying to stop abuse on their channels.”

Twitch has had a banner year. With the coronavirus pandemic forcing people to remain indoors, many have sought out online entertainment such as streaming video games. Twitch now averages 26.5 million daily viewers, up from 17.5 million at the beginning of the year, it said.

I'm started to twitch in agitation.

As the community has grown and become more global, Ms. Clemens said, it is important for Twitch to ensure that its policies reflect societal norms.

Many streamers earn a living from Twitch, with some making more than $1 million a year through subscriptions, donations and advertisements on the service. Because of that, Ms. Clemens said, Twitch users should keep a “workplace-style” approach in mind when considering what comments might amount to harassment.

Other changes include codifying and spelling out more explicitly the kinds of content and actions that were already unofficially prohibited. These include blackface, doxxing — publishing personally identifying information like someone’s phone number online — and hate group propaganda, such as symbols associated with the Nazi Party or white supremacist groups.

Twitch said it did not have policies on other categories of toxic content, such as coronavirus-related misinformation or the baseless QAnon conspiracy theory, but the company said such content could fall afoul of its policies preventing hateful conduct and the encouragement of self-destructive behavior.

"Tech Lab: From Oculus, the best VR headset yet" by Hiawatha Bray Globe Staff, December 27, 2020

When did virtual reality headsets stop being the next big thing? I’d say a couple of years ago, when it became clear that few people were buying them.

The concept seemed irresistable — an entertainment system that lets players step inside three-dimensional 360-degree simulated worlds, but in practice, VR systems were too costly, too heavy, and offered too few good games and videos to be worth the trouble. So consumers gave up and walked away.

Facebook didn’t.

Six years ago the social media giant bought VR pioneer Oculus for $2 billion. Facebook has been trying to get VR right since, and is getting close. The new Oculus Quest 2 headset has its flaws, but overall it’s the most satisfying device of its kind, and the price is right; at $300, the Quest 2 costs the same as other hot video game consoles, such as Nintendo Switch or Microsoft Xbox Series S.

Only about one-fifth of Americans have ever tried a VR system, much less purchased one. That’s partly because many early versions had to be tethered to an expensive high-powered PC, or at least a Sony PlayStation 4 or 5.

I've heard that the PlayStation 5 is hard to get but worth the wait, while Microsoft’s new Xbox hits the spot and with its splendid graphics and blazing speed it is a superb choice for passionate gamers.

The Quest 2 is a standalone system, that is, the headset is the computer. This is made possible by a new computer chip from Qualcomm that’s got enough firepower for such tasks. Along with the headset, you get a pair of game controllers, one for each hand. When you’re inside a game, these controllers look like whatever you need them to be— a fist, a .45 pistol, or a light saber.

You won’t be surprised to learn that you’ll have to connect the Quest 2 through a Facebook account. It’s probably not a dealbreaker. We’re signed up already, aren’t we?

Quest uses an array of four headset-mounted cameras to scan your surroundings and help you set up a safe playing area. Using a game controller, you “spraypaint” a boundary on the floor. If you cross it, the game disappears, replaced by live video of the room, so you won’t trip over the furniture. You can also activate this feature manually, by tapping the side of the headset.

The headset uses a motion detector and gyroscope to detect movements of your head and body. Look up, and, you see a star-filled sky, not your living room ceiling; glance over your shoulder, and there’s a monster sneaking up on you.....

VR might just be the next big thing.

Or not:

"German regulators launched an investigation Thursday into Facebook over the company’s decision to link its Oculus virtual reality products to the social network, authorities said. The Federal Cartel Office, or Bundeskartellamt, said it had initiated abuse proceedings over Facebook’s plans to require users of the latest Quest 2 virtual reality glasses produced by Oculus to register with a Facebook.com account. In response to a request for comment, Facebook noted that it had already paused sales of its Oculus products in Germany this year. It has not detailed why it made the move, but said it was not related to the investigation launched Thursday."

"Facebook’s small advertisers say they’re hurt by AI lockouts" by Kurt Wagner Bloomberg, December 21, 2020

Small advertisers that rely on Facebook to spread marketing messages are up in arms over the social network’s automated ad systems, complaining that inflexible account blocking tools and a lack of customer assistance are hurting business.

One digital marketer, Chris Raines, was setting up an advertising campaign on Facebook last week when his account abruptly stopped working. Raines uses his account to manage ads for clients’ Facebook Pages. Without it, he couldn’t do his job.

The lockout was a nuisance, but then Raines noticed something more concerning: A $3,000-per-day ad campaign that he’d set up for a client before his account was locked continued to run even though he could no longer manage it. Raines was spending his client’s money without any way to control how.

Raines tried to confirm his identity using Facebook Inc.’s automated systems, but received an error message. Eventually, he called the advertiser and asked if they would make his wife an administrator to the company-owned Facebook Page. Using her account, he was finally able to log in and manage the Facebook ads, which includes adjusting details like who sees the ad and how much to spend.

“The actual injury, especially for advertisers and marketers, is immense,” said Raines, who runs a digital media company called Bullhorn Media. “Had I not had that workaround, my business would have went away.”

As he investigated solutions, Raines started hearing about other ad buyers in the same position. Harrison Kugler, an independent digital media manager in New Jersey, was similarly locked out while running ads for his client, a local comedy club. It took him 26 hours to get his account back, during which he estimates he spent $200 in Facebook ads without his usual level of oversight. In New Zealand, marketing consultant Sam Frost was frozen out of his account, and there were no other administrators linked to some of the Facebook Pages running the ads. He spent “a couple hundred dollars” before he was allowed back in.

“It’s not a king’s ransom, but it’s more the fact that to some businesses that might be a huge amount of money,” Frost says.

As Facebook has increasingly relied on automated tools to help rid its service of bad actors and inappropriate content, many rule-following users are complaining about being caught in Facebook’s net. Last month, some small business owners were shocked to find seemingly innocent holiday ads caught in Facebook’s filters, hurting their business during the most important time of the year.

One might be excused for thinking the Great Re$et is a vast conspiracy.

Unlike buying a TV commercial or a billboard, Facebook ads require more hands-on attention. That specificity is the core benefit of advertising with Facebook. The company’s immense trove of user data enables advertisers to tailor messages to very specific audiences.

The incidents highlight what is becoming an increasingly troubling theme for Facebook. The social network has never been more important to small businesses, given the push toward online interactions during the pandemic, but as that reliance has grown, Facebook’s struggle to support these businesses has begun to show. The company’s automated customer-service tools seem unable to support the number of businesses with issues. When Kugler first submitted his information in an effort to recover his account, including a photo of his ID, Facebook sent him an automated response that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it may be “unable to review your account.”

“I didn’t realize how dependent I was on Facebook’s platform,” Kugler said. “To get this sort of lack of accountability from a company that seems to empower employees and all this stuff is absolutely preposterous.”

"YouTube on Wednesday announced changes to how it handles videos about the 2020 presidential election, saying it would remove new videos that mislead people by claiming that widespread fraud or errors influenced the outcome of the election. The company said it was making the change because Tuesday was the so-called safe harbor deadline — the date by which all state-level election challenges, such as recounts and audits, are supposed to be completed. YouTube said that enough states have certified their election results to determine that Joe Biden is the president-elect. YouTube’s announcement is a reversal of a much-criticized company policy on election videos. Throughout the election cycle, YouTube, which is owned by Google, has allowed videos spreading false claims of widespread election fraud under a policy that permits videos that comment on the outcome of an election. Under the new policy, videos about the election uploaded before the safe harbor deadline would remain on the platform, with YouTube appending an information panel linking to the Office of the Federal Register’s election results certification notice."

"Jonathan Pollard, who spent 30 years in US prison for spying for Israel, arrived in Israel early Wednesday with his wife, triumphantly kissing the ground as he disembarked from the aircraft in the culmination of a decades-long affair that had long strained relations between the two close allies. “We are ecstatic to be home at last after 35 years,” Pollard said as he was greeted at Israel's international airport by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The Israeli leader jubilantly presented Pollard and his wife Esther with Israeli ID cards, granting them citizenship. “You're home,” Netanyahu said, reciting a Hebrew blessing of thanks. “What a moment. What a moment.” Pollard arrived on a private plane provided by American casino magnate Sheldon Adelson, a billionaire supporter of both Netanyahu and President Donald Trump. Pollard thanked Netanyahu and the Jewish people for supporting him.  “We hope to become productive citizens as soon and as quickly as possible and to get on with our lives here,” he said."

Did you see where Adelson is going to billet him?

The vise grip the tribe has on the American government is astonishing, and that's our best friend in the Middle East? Guys who hail a traitorous spy who hurt our country as a hero while shitting in our face?

"Pollard, 66, and his wife walked slowly down the steps as they exited from the aircraft. Pollard got on his knees and kissed the ground as his wife put her hand on his back with Netanyahu standing by in the darkness. Esther Pollard, who is battling cancer, then kissed the ground and was helped up by her husband. After landing, Israel's president, Reuven Rivlin, and several lawmakers tweeted congratulations and greetings to the Pollards, who left from the airport for an undisclosed location. Pollard, a civilian intelligence analyst for the U.S. Navy, sold military secrets to Israel while working at the Pentagon in the 1980s. He was arrested in 1985 after trying unsuccessfully to gain asylum at the Israeli Embassy in Washington and pleaded guilty. The espionage affair embarrassed Israel and tarnished its relations with the United States for years. Pollard was given a life sentence and U.S. defense and intelligence officials consistently argued against his release, but after serving 30 years in federal prison, he was released on Nov. 20, 2015, and placed on a five-year parole period that ended in November. That cleared the way for him to leave the U.S. Pollard’s arrival was first reported by Israel Hayom, a newspaper owned by Adelson. The newspaper published photos of Pollard and his wife, both wearing masks, on what it said was a private plane that arrived early Wednesday from Newark, New Jersey. It said the private flight was necessary due to the medical needs of Esther Pollard. The newspaper’s editor, Boaz Bismuth, called it “the most exciting day” of his four-decade journalism career. Photographs of the plane with the Pollards matched the color scheme of aircraft owned by the Las Vegas Sands Corp., the hotel and casino company owned by Adelson. Flight-tracking data showed a Boeing 737 owned by the company, tail number N108MS, left Newark for Ben-Gurion International Airport outside of Tel Aviv. Effi Lahav, head of an activist group that had campaigned for Pollard's release from prison, said Pollard's “arrival was (kept) secret since we realized it’s better to be discreet regarding his arrival.” “We have no interest in defying anyone, for sure not ... the United States,” Lahav told The Associated Press. He called Pollard's arrival “very moving and very historic” and a moment that his organization “waited for, wished for and prayed for and acted for throughout all these years.” The Ynet website said the couple was in quarantine, which is mandatory for all returning Israelis as a measure to guard against the spread of the coronavirus. The country has barred the arrival of all tourists, but appeared to be welcoming the couple as Israelis. Pollard's release was the latest in a long line of diplomatic gifts given to Netanyahu by President Donald Trump. His arrival in Israel gives the embattled Netanyahu a welcome boost as he fights for reelection in March 23 parliamentary elections. Netanyahu has been one of Trump’s closest allies on the international stage. Over the past four years, Trump has recognized contested Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and moved the U.S. Embassy to the holy city. In other departures from traditional U.S. positions, Trump has also recognized Israel’s annexation of the Golan Heights, said that Israeli West Bank settlements are not illegal and brokered a series of diplomatic agreements between Israel and Arab nations."

No only is Trump a Zioni$t butt kisser, Pollard was released from jail by Obama and I wonder if that latest Israel election will be rigged like all the rest.

"US officials warn of potential Iran-linked attack" by Dan Lamothe Washington Post, December 30, 2020

The US military is bracing for a possible attack on American personnel and interests in Iraq, US defense officials said, days before the first anniversary of an American drone strike that killed an Iranian general in Baghdad.

The officials spoke as two B-52 bombers carried out a round-trip, 30-hour mission from Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota to the Middle East ending on Wednesday, in an effort to show American presence and military might in the region to deter Iran. The Air Force carried out similar missions twice in the last 45 days.

Those were to deter Iranian attacks on U.S. troops and should not be seen as a threat or sign of aggression.

The latest bomber deployment, disclosed after the aircraft left the Middle East, was carried out as supporters of the Iranian regime continue to mourn for Qasem Soleimani, the influential leader of Iran’s Quds Force, the elite special operations wing of the Revolutionary Guard Corps. He was killed Jan. 3 in a drone strike along with Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the leader of Kataib Hezbollah, an Iranian-backed militia that US officials have said was responsible for numerous attacks on US facilities in Iraq.

Trump struck him down with a bolt of lightning.

President Trump approved the operation amid escalating violence in the region, eliminating a longtime nemesis, Soleimani, who had coordinated attacks against US troops and interests for years, according to US officials and reports. Iran, expressing outrage, responded five days later by launching a ballistic missile attack that injured more than 100 US troops and damaged several facilities.

When no Americans were killed in that attack, senior US and Iranian officials both seemed to temporarily take pause, but tensions have escalated again in recent weeks, as Washington prepares for a presidential transition following President-elect Joe Biden’s victory over Trump.

On Nov. 17, rockets were launched at the US Embassy in Baghdad. Another armed group in Iraq, Ashab al-Kahf, said it was responsible.

That is why they withdrew some staff, but.....

On Nov. 27, a senior official in Iran’s nuclear program, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, was assassinated near Tehran. US officials denied knowing of the attack, and Iran blamed it on Israel, but given the close relationship between Israel and the United States, US officials have assumed that Iran also might hold the United States responsible.....

I get the feeling that the Iranians are being set up to be scapegoat for some sort of false flag plot, and even the New York Times says Israel was behind the attack (they want you to know they can strike anytime, anywhere) and their analysis is that the assassination of the scientist who led Iran’s pursuit of a nuclear weapon for the past two decades threatens to cripple President-elect Joe Biden’s effort to revive the Iran nuclear deal before he can even begin his diplomacy with Iran, and that may well have been a main goal of the operation, but whatever the mix of motives, Biden must pick up the pieces as Iran threatens payback by passing a law to immediately begin enriching uranium to a level closer to weapons grade and to suspend the access of international inspectors to its nuclear facilities if sanctions are not lifted by early February, shortly after President-elect Joe Biden takes office, creating a potential crisis for the early days of the Biden administration as they try to revive the Iran nuclear deal when the Iranians feel vulnerable as they struggle to bury virus victims while executing journalists.

The Iranians, of course, are too shrewd to take the bait, but it doesn't preclude my Jewi$h War Pre$$ from blaming them for a nuclear attack, a cyber attack that knocks out the power grid just as the WEF has warned, an assassination of Trump were he to miraculously retain office, or a top US scientists who needs to be watching his travel during the holidays.

At least he scored a big policy win after they ate his lunch.

"Britain on Wednesday became the first country to give emergency authorization to the coronavirus vaccine developed by AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford, clearing the path for a cheap and easy-to-store shot that much of the world will rely on to help end the pandemic. In a bold departure from prevailing strategies around the world, the British government also decided to begin giving as many people as possible a first dose of coronavirus vaccines, rather than holding back supplies for quick second shots, greatly expanding the number of people who will be inoculated. That decision put Britain at the vanguard of a far-reaching and uncertain experiment in speeding up vaccinations, one that some scientists believe will curb the suffering wrought by a pandemic that has been killing hundreds of people each day in Britain and thousands more around the world. Some participants in the clinical trial of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine were given the two doses several months apart. British regulators said on Wednesday that the first dose of the vaccine had 70 percent efficacy in protecting against COVID-19 in the period between that shot taking effect and a second shot being administered, though those figures held for a limited subset of trial participants and have not been published. Together, the two moves by Britain — authorizing the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine and lengthening the gap between doses — offered the clearest signal yet of how countries still in the grip of the virus might hasten the pace of vaccination programs. Meanwhile, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has imposed tighter restrictions on most of England, warning of “extremely tough” months ahead as his government races to roll out vaccines that can bring coronavirus under control. Beginning Thursday, three-quarters of the population of England — 44.1 million people — will be in the top tier of lockdown measures as the new strain of the virus piles pressure on hospitals already stretched to capacity by the pandemic. The measures come amid growing fears the National Health Service is at risk of being overwhelmed after the UK reported more than 50,000 new cases on Wednesday, with 981 daily deaths. The number of people hospitalized with coronavirus already exceeds the peak recorded during the first wave in the spring....."

Turns out Sweden is just the same as everyone else (thus the rise in infections and calls for lockdown) as Germany suffers over 1,000 virus deaths in a day for first time and Argentina legalizes abortion as a rebuke to Pope Francis.

You will have to follow the Globe roadmap if you want to get fed as the Ronald Mariano era begins (meet the new boss, same as the old boss).

Now sit right back and you'll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip....

"Bill Gross’s enthusiasm for playing the theme to “Gilligan’s Island” loudly outside his Southern California oceanfront home was muted by a judge who agreed with the Bond King’s neighbor that it amounted to harassment and imposed strict limits on the billionaire. Orange County Superior Court Judge Kimberly Knill on Wednesday ordered Gross to stop playing sitcom theme songs and other loud music when they aren’t outdoors for three years and to stay at least five yards away from their next-door neighbors in Laguna Beach. Tech entrepreneur Mark Towfiq sought the restraining order to stop what he alleged was “a targeted campaign of harassment” that began after he complained to city officials that Gross installed unsightly netting over a million-dollar sculpture in his yard without proper permits. “The court finds the evidence demonstrates Gross and Schwartz willfully playing music to annoy or harass their neighbors,” Knill said. “The evidence demonstrates on Aug. 23, 2020, Gross and Schwartz manually started the playlist over and over again,” the judge said, pointing out that one 17-minute video from a camera in Towfiq’s property showed that “Gilligan’s Island” played eight times, as did “Green Acres.”

I wanted to end this post on a high note so.....

"City Strings seeks to end 2020 on a high note" by Andrew Stanton Globe Correspondent,Updated December 11, 2020

After the pandemic forced City Strings United to cancel its spring recitals, including one at Symphony Hall, the Roxbury-based children’s cello program hopes to end 2020 on a high note.

The nonprofit is recruiting new volunteers and is aiming to raise $10,000 in December. “We’d love to start with strength,” said Bithyah Israel, a professional cellist who founded the group eight years ago

City Strings, based at the historic Twelfth Baptist Church, offers free cello lessons to kids ages 5 to 18, most of whom are from Dorchester, Mattapan, and Roxbury. The group relies on charitable donations and grant funds to pay for music and instruments.

The cancellation of five spring concerts wiped out another key source of money.

Israel hopes a new crop of volunteers and donors step up to help City Strings weather the pandemic.

Volunteers can help with networking and marketing opportunities. They can also attend concerts, or help provide refreshments, once in-person performances return. “There’s just a ton of ways that people can bring their expertise to help us fill in the gaps,” she said.

College and high school students have a special role to play, Israel noted. College students have helped to teach kids. High schoolers can create music worksheets or promote City Strings on social media, she said.

Israel said she hopes the support will enable the program to open a second site in Boston and begin recruiting students during the spring semester.....
