Occupation Iraq: 2012 and Beyond

What do you mean your lying, agenda-pushing, war-promoting, Zionist War Daily told you we where out by 2011?

Uh-uh.

"American forces might stay beyond their 2012 departure deadline"

"Iran trying to manipulate Iraqi vote, US general says; Defense secretary surveys transfer of cities’ security" by Anne Gearan, Associated Press | July 29, 2009

BAGHDAD - Visiting Defense Secretary Robert Gates was getting a firsthand look at US-Iraqi cooperation following formal handover of control of Iraqi cities to Iraqi security forces. He met with Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki in Baghdad over Iraqi requests for more military hardware, including state-of-the-art fighter jets.

The timetable for withdrawal of about 130,000 US forces is keyed to the national election calendar....

Gates expressed satisfaction with the pace of US disengagement.... but we stand ready to assist if called upon,’’ he said. Gates sidestepped questions about whether American forces might stay beyond their 2012 departure deadline.

Maliki suggested last week that if Iraq needs more security help it might ask for an extension of the US military’s commitment. “What happens beyond 2011 is a subject best left to the end of 2010 or 2011 itself,’’ Gates said.

Maliki has given Gates a shopping list of US-made military equipment he wants to acquire, including marquee fighter planes. Iraqi government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh said Gates and Maliki discussed equipment sales again yesterday....

Israel will nix those, and Lord help any congressperson who disagrees.

And WHY WOULD the GLOBE LOP OFF what is in MY PRINTED PAPER!?

"Iraq wants to buy more F-16s or other fighters than U.S. officials think it can afford, and Odierno said Iraq needs better air defenses faster than new F-16s could be belivered.

Iraq is also expected to consider French- or Russian-made planes. "We are looking for creative solutions," that might include the "loan" of decommissioned US planes, Ordierno said.

Why so they can crash like the Iran jets across the border that you never hear about anymore, stink. See:
U.S. Sanctions Killing Iranians

Now I see why they whacked it, don't you?

A special US Air Force assessment group will be in Iraq soon to help figure out a solution, Odierno said. Without more equipment and help Iraq will not be able to defend its own airspace when the United States pulls forces out completely in 2011, Odierno said.

TIRED of the LIES and OMISSIONS of YOUR NEWSPAPERS, Americans?!!!

New England's largest newspaper SUCKS DONKEY BALLS -- which is why they are bleeding $1.6 mill a week with the NYT PROFITED last quarter after bending over the Globe unions!

Gates was expected to visit Iraq's Kurdish region today. Kurdiah leaders are squabbling with Iraq's central government over oil-rich territory.

I'm TIRED of this SHIT!!!!!!

TAKING UP MY TIME with their DAMN GAMES!

"Obama presses Iraqi leader to include all in reconciliation" by Steven R. Hurst, Associated Press | July 23, 2009

WASHINGTON - President Obama said he pressed Iraq’s prime minister yesterday to make room in his government and security forces for all ethnic and religious groups to prevent a resurgence of the violence and turmoil that took the country to the verge of civil war....

Please see Tortured Logic and follow the links for who is REALLY RESPONSIBLE for VIOLENCE in IRAQ! I'm sick of the Zionist bulls***!

Obama has shifted his military focus to Afghanistan and the border regions of Pakistan, vowing to wipe out Al Qaeda sanctuaries and defeat the allied Islamic extremist forces of the Taliban.

Blah, blah, blah. Blah, blah, blah.

US officials, while praising improvement in Iraqi security forces, remain deeply concerned that Maliki’s Shi’ite Muslim-dominated government has been unable or unwilling to reconcile with the country’s minority Sunni Muslims and Kurds. The Sunnis had run Iraq until the United States ouster of Saddam Hussein in 2003 and are still smarting over their loss of power in politics, the economy, and military.

Blah, blah, blah. Blah, blah, blah.

Aware of Sunni hard feelings and Kurdish desires for autonomy in an oil-rich section of the northeast of Iraq, Obama enjoined Maliki to be more flexible about sharing power and allowing provincial governments a greater role in decision-making....

Blah, blah, blah. Blah, blah, blah.

Both leaders downplayed reports from Iraq that US forces, since pulling out of the cities, have not been given the flexibility called for under the Status of Forces Agreement to respond to attacks by remnants of Al Qaeda in Iraq and Shi’ite militants.

Blah, blah, blah. Blah, blah, blah.

Maliki says Iraqi wrong to detain US troops" by Associated Press | July 27, 2009

WASHINGTON - The prime minister of Iraq, Nouri al-Maliki, says an Iraqi officer was wrong to order American soldiers detained after they killed three Iraqis while going after insurgents.

In an interview published yesterday in The Washington Post, Maliki said the Iraqi officer was “out of line’’ and “did not understand the agreement’’ that governs the US military since the withdrawal last month of US combat forces from Iraqi cities....

The prime minister told the Post the pact “clearly states that American forces have the right to defend themselves, and that’s what they did.’’

Two attackers and a bystander were killed Tuesday when an American convoy on its way to a police station to participate in a joint exercise came under attack in the Abu Ghraib area west of Baghdad. Maliki is wrapping up a weeklong US visit.

Yeah, maybe, maybe not.

I'd have to find another source, because I sure as hell ain't believing this one.

Nothing about MILITARY SLES THERE, either?

WTF, Globe?

What is with the ABOMINABLE CONCEALMENT and ATROCIOUS CENSORSHIP?

I'm supposed to take this at face value?

"Some troops may leave Iraq early; Withdrawal pace tied to level of violence" by Anne Gearan, Associated Press | July 30, 2009

Oh, they are something else. I'm sorry, world, that this passes as news here in New England. My locals are better than the big-city Globe.

ABOARD A US MILITARY AIRCRAFT - A combat brigade of 5,000 US troops could be brought home early from Iraq if an emerging trend of reduced violence holds, Defense Secretary Robert Gates said yesterday.

I'm just so sick of the lies. Even if they were telling the truth I wouldn't believe them, and they aren't anyways so....

Gates’s acknowledgment that he is considering speeding the withdrawal of a full combat unit by the end of this year is the first hint that the Obama administration might rethink its decision to keep a large residual force in Iraq and pull them out slowly.

Can you SMELL the BULLSHIT?

White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said later that “conditions on the ground’’ will dictate any quickening of the withdrawal pace....

Bush's press spokesman.

US officials had worried that last month’s formal handover of control of Iraqi cities to Iraqi security forces might erode gains made. But Gates said General Ray Odierno, the top US general in Iraq, told Gates the security situation is better than expected.

And if it isn't, the MSM of AmeriKa will hide it anyway, so they are covered.

Attacks directed at Iraqi civilian targets spiked in a rash of bombings for about 10 days leading up to the formal withdrawal of US combat troops from Iraqi cities on June 30, but violence overall has hovered at far lower levels than previous years. Attacks on US soldiers also have plummeted.

See:
Occupation Iraq: Country in Crisis

Any more questions?

An Associated Press tally shows seven US troop deaths this month, the lowest monthly total since the Iraq war started in 2003.

Which means MORE SOLDIERS COMMITTED SUICIDE than died on the battlefield. Can WE COME HOME NOW? ALL of 'em?

Odierno’s concerns that the coming Iraqi election would trigger a rebound in violence had prompted President Obama to decide on a slow withdrawal.... The decision disappointed many antiwar Democrats.

There ARE NO ANTIWAR DEMOCRATS!

See:
Meet Your Antiwar New England Liberals

Just wondering when liberal Democrats are going to realize they are irrelevant and are going to join up with the Ron Paulers and 9/11 Truthers.
Waiting and waiting and waiting.

Where are you guys? How many times you gotta get poked in the ass before you....

********

Gates stressed yesterday that the idea of speeding up that pace and bringing a third brigade back by the end of this year is preliminary, tied to continued good news in Iraq.

Translation: We are pulling some troops out no matter what to fight others wars (or we will get a draft, in which case all bets are off).

The Iraqi government welcomed the news and said government security forces were working toward the same goal but need more arms as well as training. “This also must coincide with the speedier training and arming of the Iraqi security forces,’’ government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh said. “The faster the US troops withdraw, the faster we can fill in the gaps.’’

Nothing about the ARMS SALES again, huh, Globe?
