Obama's Open-Ended War

What else would you call it?

"he.... left the door open for a continued US military presence in Afghanistan for many years to come, with the ultimate pace of a US drawdown determined by security conditions on the ground
."

I swear to God he's George W. Bush in black face! He just picked up that New World Order baton and ran with it (soon to expand).

And what is with the DECEPTIVE HEADLINE, Glob?!!!

"Obama to add 30,000 troops, begin Afghan pullout in 2011; Sets sights on transfer of responsibility" by Farah Stockman and Michael Kranish, Globe Staff | December 2, 2009

WASHINGTON - President Obama, seeking to regain the military initiative in Afghanistan while limiting an increasingly unpopular war, said last night that he will rapidly deploy 30,000 new US troops....

But he also left the door open for a continued US military presence in Afghanistan for many years to come, with the ultimate pace of a US drawdown determined by security conditions on the ground. Obama sought to build a strong rationale for continuing the war....

Would you PLEASE GIVE BACK that NOBEL PRIZE!!

Amid declining support for the war.... Obama rejected comparisons with Vietnam, reminding American citizens that enemies in Afghanistan and Pakistan present a direct threat to the US homeland, unlike the enemies in Vietnam....

He really makes me sick now. Less than a year in office and I can't stand the guy!

I don't think he did that good a job.

"Democrats wary of the commitment" by Susan Milligan and Lisa Wangsness, Globe Staff | December 2, 2009

WASHINGTON - Democrats don’t want to spurn their president in a time of need, but they have serious concerns about escalating a war in a nation with rampant corruption and led by a president many believe stole the August election. And a vote to expand the war could damage incumbents in next year’s elections....

House Appropriations Committee chairman Dave Obey, Democrat of Wisconsin, said after the speech that he would continue to push for a surtax to pay for the war, which he said could cost $500 billion to $900 billion over the next decade....

Politically, Obama is caught “between a rock and a hard place’’ in trying to satisfy the Democratic left, which has long been skeptical of this and other wars, while protecting his party from accusations it is weak on defense issues, said David M. Kennedy, a US history professor at Stanford University. “He has an obligation to his own base, but he knows that one of the great vulnerabilities of the Democratic Party since the 1960s is being tagged as the party of appeasement,’’ Kennedy said.

I'm so sick of this s***-fooley garbage!

When are you going to learn you don't matter to your leadership, liberals?

The situation has left Capitol Hill in a quandary: while the American public is souring on the eight-year-old war, few in Congress want the United States to leave now, fearful of appearing to abandon the fight against Al Qaeda.

PFFFFFFFFFFFTTTT!!!!

Btw, did you know that Al Qaeda doesn't even exist?

That there is no Al Qaeda?

Adding troops could help, much like the 2007 surge in Iraq, but the cost would run in the tens of billions of dollars....

And the cost in BLOOD?
