"Brookline officer accused of assault; Others face action in separate case" by Brock Parker, Globe Correspondent | May 6, 2010

Brookline police sought charges against one of their own officers in the alleged assault and battery of a woman yesterday, on the same day that a clerk-magistrate found probable cause to charge two Brookline police officers in a separate case, a bachelor party melee in March.

The back-to-back episodes prompted Brookline Police Chief Daniel O’Leary to issue a statement saying that his department was committed to being “proactive’’ in any investigation of its officers....

Yeah, pass that salt shaker over, thanks.

Brookline police said yesterday that they filed charges against Scott Seto, a 24-year veteran of the department, after a woman from Brookline filed a complaint with the department Monday.

Seto, who was placed on paid administrative leave, faces two counts of indecent assault and battery and two counts of assault and battery. The charges were filed in Brookline District Court, police said.

Police did not provide additional information on the case.

Also yesterday, a clerk-magistrate found probable cause to charge two Brookline police officers, an exotic dancer, and her chaperone for their alleged roles in a fight after a bachelor party in March, according to police and lawyers in the case.

The officers, Daniel Avila and Brendan Kelliher, were each charged with assault and battery, following a hearing before Clerk-Magistrate Michael Finucane in Waltham District Court yesterday, said Tom Drechsler, their lawyer.

The magistrate also found probable cause to charge dancer Theresa Soundis with operating to endanger and Robert Sonia, her chaperone, with threatening to commit a crime and assault and battery, said John Saliba, an attorney for Sonia.

The COURT CHARGED the VICTIMS of POLICE BRUTALITY with a CRIME?

Only in Massachushitts!

But (sigh; what do you have, a word quota or something?) the magistrate decided there was not probable cause to proceed with charges against two other officers allegedly involved in the incident....

Yeah, a BUNCH of DRUNK COPS looking for someone to BEAT UP!

Police had also sought a charge of felony unarmed assault with intent to steal against Sonia, the chaperone. But his attorney said the magistrate did not find probable cause to charge Sonia with the felony.

The magistrate also did not charge Soundis with assault with a dangerous weapon or with witness interference and obstruction of justice, which Brookline police had sought.

Soundis’s attorney, Stephen Hrones, said the charge of operating to endanger Soundis will face is based on an accusation that she almost struck one of the officers with her vehicle. Hrones said he does not believe there is any evidence that Soundis was attempting to hit one of the officers....

No, they are TRUMPED CHARGES MEANT TO INTIMIDATE and COVER UP the COMPLAINT!

Sig heil, Massachusetts!

After the charges against the three officers were announced yesterday, O’Leary, the police chief, said he thinks the reputation and integrity of the department are a concern because police need the respect of the public in order to do their job.

THAT DAY is LONG GONE, sir, because of YOUR GOONS!

And it is NOT JUST YOU, it is ALL OVER BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS, and the WHOLE DAMN COUNTRY, sig heil!

“But I think if people can take a step back [and consider] when we hire our officer, we hire from the human race and nobody is perfect,’’ O’Leary said.

We are NOT ASKING THEM to be PERFECT; we are ASKING for them NOT TO BE BRUTISH ASSHOLES!!!!!!!

The chief said he believes the thorough investigations police have led into the two cases are an example of the merit of the department.

Yeah, yeah, sig heil, sheriff.

So what about this Sicko Seto?

"Other women complained about Brookline officer; Report is filed as he is facing assault charge" by Brock Parker, Globe Correspondent | May 8, 2010

A Brookline police officer accused of indecently assaulting a woman this week has a history of previous complaints of inappropriate conduct, police disclosed yesterday.

A police report detailing the charges filed Wednesday against Scott Seto, 52, of Waltham, said a number of previous allegations have been filed against him “by females for inappropriate comments and behavior.’’

The affidavit, obtained by the Globe from Brookline District Court yesterday, did not provide any further information about the previous allegations.

Brookline police said the allegations had been handled internally by the department and the incidents did not rise to the level of criminal charges.

Translation: The COPS SUCCESSFULLY COVERED THOSE UP!

Thomas Drechsler, a lawyer representing Seto, said his client denies any history of “such conduct.’’ He added that the officer does not have a criminal record.

Yeah, so?

Must be a scummy DEFENSE ATTORNEY, 'eh?

Brookline police have charged Seto with two counts of indecent assault and battery and two counts of assault and battery following an incident Sunday afternoon....

The charges against Seto were filed on the same day that Brookline police officers Daniel Avila and Brendan Kelliher were charged with assault and battery for their alleged roles in a melee with stripper Theresa Soundis and her chaperone Robert Sonia on March 28 during a bachelor party.

In the incident involving Seto, a woman told police that at her apartment Seto put his hands on her waist and pressed his crotch against her buttocks, according to the police report.

Off with his little head, ladies.

Seto followed her inside, and made comments about her breasts and buttocks as he hugged her, according to the police report.

He's just serving the public!

She pulled away and said she had a boyfriend, and Seto tried to kiss her so she turned her head and he kissed her cheek, according to the affidavit.

She told police that she had to break the embrace with “some force.’’

After she reported being assaulted, Sergeant William Riley asked Seto about the incident; Seto denied the allegations.

When Riley asked Seto why he did not call in his location before entering the house with a single woman, Seto said he had poor judgment, according to the police report.

Translation: He is GUILTY as S***!!!!!!

Otherwise NO CHARGES WOULD BE BROUGHT!

Town council trying to f*** you, too:

"Town panel endorses parking rate hikes

Brookline’s proposal to hike meter rates and extend parking meter hours along Beacon Street where many Red Sox fans park is gaining steam. The Brookline Parking Committee presented a report to selectmen Tuesday that said the changes could potentially “extract revenue from people going to Fenway and parking on the streets Brookline maintains.’’

Bend over, citizens.

You know where they extract money from you; they think you have it falling out of there.

No, I'll pass on the free ticket to the game, thanks; ask someone else.

Actually, I will take that ticket.

The committee did not recommend how much the town should increase parking rates. The town’s Transportation Board would have to approve any changes to meter rates.

"Brookline pitch may hit Sox fans in wallet; Town ponders raising parking meter rates" by Brock Parker, Globe Correspondent | March 6, 2010

BROOKLINE - Red Sox fans may not get a free pass to park in Brookline on their way to Fenway Park this summer.

Officials in Brookline are warming to the idea of extending the hours that parking meters operate near Fenway Park and charging about $10 to park in the spots during games.

I'll take the T in from Alewife.

In past seasons, parking has been free at meters in Brookline after 6 p.m. Sox fans could hop on the Green Line to get to Fenway and avoid parking fees near the stadium that can cost up to $35. But as a result, customers at some businesses - such as those near the St. Mary’s MBTA stop on Beacon Street - often could not find a place to park....

Bill Schwartz, a cochairman of the Brookline selectman's committee, said the goal is to generate more revenue for the town....

Hey, they DO NOT CALL it TAXACHUSETTS for nothing!

"Gravity of FBI operation unsettles a community" by Milton J. Valencia, Globe Staff | May 14, 2010

WATERTOWN — In Brookline, Howard Kranz said he immediately feared a terrorist investigation after leaving his home in the John W. Kickham apartment complex, just after 9 a.m., to find FBI agents surrounding the nearby Mobil gas station near Coolidge Corner.

“I used to go into that place a lot for lottery tickets,’’ Kranz said. “The people were very openly cordial and friendly.’’ But he is newly wary of people’s motives, Kranz said. “We don’t have the luxury of being foolish or reckless in this country anymore.’’

Yeah, especially with the Brookline cops on the beat!
