A Tale of Two Protests: Banks and Borders

Decide for yourself which agenda and side the AmeriKan MSM is on, folks.

"Tax Wall Street, 7,500 protestors say" by Bloomberg News | April 30, 2010

NEW YORK — AFL-CIO president Richard Trumka led protesters in a march on Wall Street yesterday, chanting that investment banks must “fix the mess that you made’’ by paying more taxes and lending more money....

Actually, those are heading us in the wrong direction.

We need neither higher taxes or more loans; in fact, we need just the opposite.

I'm disappointed by AmeriKan labor more and more every day.

The rally capped a drive being conducted by the nation’s largest organization of labor unions, called Make Wall Street Pay. Protestors, some dressed as pirates, held signs saying “Break Up Megabanks’’ and “Hey Big Banks — Less Bail, More Jail.’’ Rallies have targeted Goldman Sachs Group, the most profitable securities firm, and the five biggest US banks.

Police estimated more than 7,500 people gathered near City Hall before the crowd headed past the New York Stock Exchange, carrying signs reading “Reclaim Our Democracy.’’

“The average person on Main Street is just fed up with big business and Wall Street manipulation,’’ said Wayne Usilton, 63, a former Chrysler worker from Delaware.

“If they care so much about the country, they should go to work and be productive and stop with the protests,’’ said Brendan Plunkett, 46, a corporate bond trader. “It’s all nonsense to me, and it always will be.’’

He's lucky he got away from the mob.

"Anger, lawsuits aimed at Ariz. immigration law; Police officer, church group target statute" by Jonathan J. Cooper and Paul Davenport, Associated Press | April 30, 2010

PHOENIX — Anger mounted yesterday over an Arizona measure cracking down on illegal immigration as a police officer sued to challenge it, governors in Texas and Colorado weighed in to oppose such a law in their own states, and activists in Chicago chanted for a boycott outside an Arizona Diamondbacks game.

That's not going to help your cause.

The lawsuit from 15-year Tucson police veteran Martin Escobar was one of two filed yesterday....

Everything always ends up in court here in "free" AmeriKa.

US Attorney General Eric Holder has said the federal government may challenge the law, which requires local and state law enforcement to question people about their immigration status if there’s reason to suspect they’re in the country illegally....

Sigh. What part of illegal and protecting the borders do you not understand?

The National Coalition of Latino Clergy and Christian Leaders also sued yesterday and sought an injunction preventing authorities from enforcing the law. The group argues that federal law preempts state regulation of national borders and that Arizona’s measure violates due process rights by letting police detain suspected illegal immigrants before they’re convicted.

Not if you are a Muslim "terrorist."

In Flagstaff, police investigated an e-mail sent to members of the City Council over their opposition to the law. The author said council members should be “arrested, tried in court, found guilty of treason, and hanged from the nearest tree!’’

Stop it with the stoo-pid, sympathy-generating hoaxes, will ya?

Sent from an e-mail, huh?

About 40 immigrant rights activists gathered yesterday outside Wrigley Field as the Chicago Cubs opened a four-game series against the Diamondbacks. A small plane toting a banner criticizing the law circled the stadium.

Who is funding all this, folks? WTF?

And why the edited rewrite that eclipsed that "Diamondbacks manager A.J. Hinch says the team is there to play baseball."

And you would think a few tree-huggers would be outside, what with all the lumber wasted on ball bats but nope.

Then nothing about it being put up for referendum or anything.

Just censored and rewritten s***.

"Ariz. immigration law spurs protesters; Police say about 50,000 rallied in Los Angeles" by Sophia Tareen, Associated Press | May 2, 2010

CHICAGO — Activists said outrage over Arizona’s controversial immigration law “awakened a sleeping giant’’ as tens of thousands rallied yesterday to demand federal immigration reform yesterday in cities across the country, including Boston.

Hey, antiwar demands were never met so f*** off.

In New York, labor organizer John Delgado said anger over the law, which requires local law enforcement to question people about their immigration status if there is reason to suspect they’re in the country illegally, drew more than 6,000 people to a rally at Manhattan’s Foley Square.

There were MORE on WALL STREET and they only got a biZne$$ brief.

“She’s awakened a sleeping giant,’’ Delgado said, referring to Governor Jan Brewer of Arizona, who signed the law.

Police said more than 50,000 rallied in Los Angeles, where singer Gloria Estefan kicked off a massive downtown march to demand immigration reform and protest the Arizona law.

I never respond well to ultimatums, do you? More inclined not to do it.

Estefan spoke in Spanish and English atop a flatbed truck, proclaiming the United States is a nation of immigrants. She said immigrants are good, hardworking people, not criminals....

I guess the ILLEGAL part fooled me.

Yeah, I 'm sure they are the cream of the crop and not criminals, drug dealers, rapists, etc.

Organizers believe opposition to the law could be the catalyst to draw tens of thousands to rallies in dozens of cities. Four years ago, more than a million people across the country united to protest ultimately unsuccessful federal legislation that would have made being an illegal immigrant a felony. Thousands of immigrant rights activists joined a rally in East Boston yesterday, which followed a march that began in Everett and passed through Chelsea. Among the other major cities with rallies were Dallas, Houston, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington....

Well, the MSM sure took notice, huh?

Activists are mobilizing through online social networking, churches, and ethnic media.

Amazing how the agenda-pushing MSM finds the stuff when they want.

Of course, ETHNIC MEDIA is NOT RACIST in AmeriKa -- unless you are white Christian.

They have called for a boycott of Arizona businesses and have protested outside Arizona Diamondbacks baseball games.

And you know what we do to them, right?

BOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Supporters say the law is necessary because of the federal government’s failure to secure the border, and they pointed to an attack Friday on a sheriff’s deputy in southern Arizona as proof something had to be done.

Just a HARD-WORKING IMMIGRANT!

The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office said Deputy Louie Puroll was shot and wounded after coming across suspected drug smugglers about 50 miles south of Phoenix. Authorities said they have captured 17 suspected illegal immigrants in southern Arizona as they continued their search for the smugglers. The deputy was released from the hospital, and was recovering at home.

Like Estefan said, hard-working people, not criminals.

Brewer said the attack on the deputy shows a growing problem with a porous border. “The horrendous violence we see by narco-terrorists is uncontrolled, and our own federal government refuses to fulfill its responsibility to secure our border,’’ she said.

Understand why now?

How do you like the constant fooleys, folks?

Critics of the law say....

They get enough publicity and print.

President Obama once promised to tackle immigration reform in his first 100 days, but has pushed back that timetable several times. He said this week that Congress may lack the “appetite’’ to take on immigration after going through a tough legislative year. However, Obama and Congress could address related issues, like boosting personnel and resources for border security, in spending bills this year.

Activists aren’t alone in their opposition to Arizona’s law.

California legislators have mulled canceling contracts with Arizona in protest. Denver’s public schools department has banned work-related travel to Arizona. And several legal challenges, preventing the bill from going into effect this summer, are in the works.

So when is Israel going to be boycotted for war crimes?

Immigrant rights activists and politicians also say they’re stepping up other forms of action. US Representative Luis Gutierrez, a Chicago Democrat who has sponsored a House immigration bill, said he planned to participate in civil disobedience at the White House yesterday.

Un-flipping-real!

I guess I should NOT BE SURPRISED that politicians defend illegality.

Nor the agenda-pushing newspapers:

"Ariz. paper raps politicians on immigration" by Associated Press | May 3, 2010

PHOENIX — The editorial appeared one day after thousands marched against the law in Phoenix and Tucson, Chicago, New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

McCain was once a champion of comprehensive immigration reform, but has abandoned his principles....

As if he ever had any other than what his political needs were.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, on “Fox News Sunday,’’ said more resources were being poured into securing the border than ever before. “Every resource that can be put at that border is being put at the border,’’ she said. “Every security is being made. But we still need comprehensive immigration reform.’’

Sick of the lying.

And talk about slaves to an agenda.

"Two councilors ask city to boycott Arizona

Two Boston city councilors want the city to pull any investments from the state of Arizona in protest of the state’s recently passed immigration law. Councilors Michael Ross and Felix G. Arroyo said yesterday that they are crafting a resolution asking city officials to find out what investments the city has with Arizona and Arizona-based companies and pull that money immediately. The resolution would ask city employees not to travel to Arizona for conferences or other city business. The Arizona law requires local law enforcement to question people about their immigration status if there is reason to suspect they are in the country illegally. Arroyo said that the Arizona law legalized racial profiling and that he does not want the city associated with the state while the immigration law is on the books (AP)."

But they don't mind being associated with war-criminal Israel.

Yeah, somehow that is no big deal and certainly not racism.

And the NEW WORLD ORDER AGENDA advances again!

WASHINGTON — An emerging immigration proposal by three Democratic senators suggests a two-phase system for immigrants who are in the United States illegally. Before the benchmarks are met, the Department of Homeland Security could begin registering, fingerprinting, and screening illegal immigrants, and considering them for an interim legal status.

And the supporters are the Nazis?

That would allow them to work in the United States and travel outside it.

And you know why they are here, too.

Make life so enjoyable and labor so cheap for that certain class of people.

Such immigrants could start applying for legal permanent residence, eight years after backlogs of visas for people coming to the United States legally have been cleared and after the security benchmarks are met. They also must show they have basic citizenship and English skills; have paid all taxes, fees, and civil penalties; and have registered for the military draft.

This deal gets worse all the time, doesn't it, immigrants?

Arizona’s new strict immigration law has led to renewed demands for Congress to pass a comprehensive bill. Reid, the Senate’s majority leader, recently said he is committed to taking up immigration this election year but also backed away from addressing the divisive issue before legislation on climate change.

Spokesmen for the three senators declined to comment.

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, who has worked with Schumer on an immigration bill, has balked at moving ahead this year.
