Iran's Kurdish Korner

Wait until you see whom are the guests.

"Bomb kills 10 at Iranian military parade" by William Yong and Alan Cowell, New York Times  |  September 23, 2010

TEHRAN — A bombing yesterday killed 10 people, mostly women and children, and wounded 20 during a military parade in northwest Iran marking the start of the Iran-Iraq War 30 years ago, state-controlled media outlets reported.

The attack, in a region where bombings are relatively rare, occurred as President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was attending the opening of the UN General Assembly in New York.

The bomb was reported to have exploded about 50 yards from the main parade in the Kurdish-majority city of Mahabad, in West Azerbaijan Province....

No group immediately took responsibility for the attack.

The province’s governor, Vahid Jalalzadeh, blamed opponents of the 1979 Islamic revolution, who “have always carried out such brutal acts to take revenge on the people,’’ state-controlled Press TV reported on its website. The Associated Press quoted a provincial official as telling the semiofficial Mehr news agency that the explosion was probably the work of Kurdish separatists.

At least one group of Kurdish nationalists, known as PJAK, is known to operate in the Mahabad region, close to the border with Iraq and Turkey, both of which have sizable Kurdish minorities.

Think that has anything to do with the violence?

In Turkey, in particular, authorities have been fighting a decades-long campaign against Kurdish separatists that has claimed some 40,000 lives.

The Iranian Kurdish movement is said by Iran experts to have close ties to the insurgent Kurdish Workers’ Party in Turkey, which called off a 14-month cease-fire in June, prompting a series of attacks on Turkish security forces.

Iran’s government has long feared that the country’s restive Kurdish population will join Kurds in Iraq and Turkey to try to form a Kurdish nation. Iran’s Kurds are mostly Sunni and therefore a religious minority, as well, and they say the government discriminates against them.

But violence has been rare.

And cui bono?

Not the Kurdish separatists:

"Iran attacks bombing suspects in Iraq" by Associated Press  |  September 27, 2010

TEHRAN — Iranian forces crossed into neighboring Iraq and killed 30 fighters from a group it says was involved in last week’s bombing of a military parade, state TV reported yesterday.

General Abdolrasoul Mahmoudabadi of the elite Revolutionary Guards said the “terrorists’’ were killed on Saturday in a clash “beyond the border’’ and that his forces were still in pursuit of two men who escaped the ambush.

Although Iran has said it would target armed groups on Iraqi soil, this is a rare case of it actually admitting to an attack.

Iraqi officials have complained in the past about Iranian artillery targeting armed Kurdish opposition groups on its soil.

And the Mossad-infiltrated Kurds firing off rounds at Iran?

An explosion during a military parade in the town of Mahabad, in Iran’s northwestern Kurdish region, killed 12 women and children on Wednesday.

Iran has already blamed the attack on Kurdish separatists who have fought Iranian forces in the area for years, but most Kurdish groups condemned the attack and no one has so far claimed responsibility for it.

Then WHO in the WORLD would want to HURT IRAN?

WHO?

Iran has also blamed Israel, the United States, and supporters of Iraq’s previous regime for supporting the Kurdish groups.

Yes, it is BLATANTLY OBVIOUS NOW!

They are the ONLY ONES PUSHING an ATTACK on IRAN!

The parade was one of several held around the country to mark the 30th anniversary of the start of the Iran-Iraq war.

And someone had to ruin it.

The city of Mahabad is home to 190,000 people, most of them Kurds and Sunni Muslims. Iran is predominantly Shi’ite.

Government forces in Iraq, Iran, and Turkey have all periodically battled with the Kurdish minorities straddling their borders. They fear the groups are seeking to unite territory in all three nations to form an independent Kurdish homeland.

I think terrorists should be confronted with what they do:

TEHRAN — An Iranian-American businessman freed after more than two years in Tehran’s main prison visited survivors of a deadly 2008 mosque bombing as a condition of his release in a scripted event yesterday that could carry propaganda value at home.

Is that ever the agenda-pushing AmeriKan media pot hollering kettle or what?

And anytime I see an American mentioned overseas as a businessman, aid worker, diplomat, or reporter I automatically assume spy.

I'm sorry, but THAT is the WAY the CIA WORKS with its COVERS!

Iranian authorities did not immediately explain their demand for 71-year-old Reza Taghavi to pay homage in Shiraz — and personally acknowledge an attack to which he denies any connection. But it would fit neatly into possible Iranian attempts to squeeze multiple messages from Taghavi’s release on Saturday after 29 months in custody.

Taghavi’s lawyer — former US diplomat Pierre Prosper — said negotiations ultimately convinced authorities that his client had no links to a rebel group blamed for the Shiraz mosque bombing that killed 14 people. Taghavi says he unwittingly gave $200 to someone with ties to the group.

His release can easily score political points at home for the ruling clerics at a time when international sanctions are hurting Iran’s economy.

Iran is pressing to resume talks on its nuclear program with the United States and other world powers after a yearlong standoff. The European Union’s foreign affairs and security chief, Catherine Ashton, suggested last week that talks could be held next month.

But Iran’s president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has already thrown up a big hurdle — saying talks could move forward only if the West clarifies its position on Israel’s undeclared, but widely suspected, nuclear arsenal.

Why should their arsenal be off limits?

I am SO TIRED of the SLAVISHNESS to the god-damned war-criminal stain of NaZionist Irsael!

RelatedRevealed: how Israel offered to sell South Africa nuclear weapons

Oh, and they even tried to pedal them to a racist apartheid regime like themselves?

Why no WORLD UPROAR about THAT?

Ahmadinejad endorsed the idea of new talks as he spoke to supporters in the northwestern city of Ardebil yesterday.
