"Fauci says US could reach 100,000 virus cases a day if current outbreaks aren’t contained" by Sheryl Gay Stolberg and Noah Weiland New York Times, June 30, 2020
The print copy says may, but could, if, what's the diff, with a NYT byline to boot.
WASHINGTON — The government’s top infectious disease expert said Tuesday that the rate of new coronavirus infections could more than double to 100,000 a day if current outbreaks are not contained, warning that the virus’s march across the South and the West “puts the entire country at risk.”
Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, offered the sobering prediction while testifying on Capitol Hill, telling senators that no region of the country is safe from the virus’s resurgence. The number of new cases in the United States has shot up by 80 percent in the past two weeks, according to a New York Times database, with new hot spots flaring far from the Sun Belt epicenters.
Can you take anymore of the scare tactics or are you sick of them like me?
F**kers like Fauci are Chicken Little's screaming the sky is falling as the death rate from COVID plummets because of the alleged increases in testing and identified cases (if you believe all the lies; I no longer do. I don't believe anything coming from my pre$$ these days, not one thing. It's distortion at best, lies at worst, with omissions galore).
New flash points have weighed down talk of a resumption of normal life and a quick economic rebound.
That's when I started $winging elbows.
The twin hearings on Capitol Hill mirrored concerns roiling states where hospitalizations are rising, intensive care units are filling up, and business establishments are again shutting their doors. Fauci particularly implored states to shut down indoor drinking establishments, declaring, “Congregation at a bar, inside, is bad news,” and Dr. Robert Redfield, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, admonished American Airlines for beginning to sell flights to their capacity, which would make onboard social distancing impossible. “When they announced that the other day, obviously there was substantial disappointment,” Redfield said. “We don’t think it’s the right message.”
Who knew we had a couple of PROHIBITIONISTS in charge of PUBLIC HEALTH, huh?
Of course, the LIQUOR STORES REMAIN OPEN!
This whole cabal has to be the most brazenly disingenuous lot I have ever seen, and that is saying something after the lies that led to the invasion of Iraq.
Around the nation and the world, it became painfully clear that, despite President Trump’s recent suggestion that the virus would “fade away,” the pandemic is getting worse. Case counts have climbed sharply in many of the states that were the first to reopen, including Florida and Texas, which recently forced bars to close again. In Texas, the bar closures spurred protests at the state Capitol and the governor’s mansion Tuesday. In Arizona, officials identified more than 4,600 new coronavirus infections Tuesday, by far the state’s most in a single day. California’s case count has soared, surpassing 220,000 known infections.
There is their mouthpiece, too. I think the pre$$ is even worse, in fact.
Vice President Mike Pence, the administration’s point person on the virus, insisted that the situation was not dire, telling reporters in suburban Washington, “We’re in a much better place than four months ago, even two months ago.”
Then why are we being fed this garbage and being locked back down?
The governors of New York, New Jersey. and Connecticut — three former hot spots in the Northeast — were less sanguine, telling travelers coming into the region to quarantine for 14 days, but in Florida, where more than 6,000 new cases were reported Tuesday, Governor Ron DeSantis, a Republican, remained defiant. On Friday, the state abruptly banned drinking in bars, though they can still sell food and alcohol for takeout. On Tuesday, DeSantis said at a news conference in Juno Beach that was enough: “We’re not going back, closing things.”
He says he is not going back as he is doing a MJ moon walk, and have you noticed that all the "former hot spots" are electoral states that went Democrat last time?
The "new hot spots" are all in electoral states Trump won (coincidence?), except for the Left Coast (don't want to make the political $camdemic obvious). This is whole thing is a f**king lie and fraud to take a down a president with color revolution coup to boot.
With the virus not under control in the United States, the European Union announced Tuesday that it would open its borders to visitors from 15 countries — but not from the United States.
Related:
"The European Union will open its borders to visitors from 15 countries as of Wednesday, but not to travelers from the United States, Brazil, or Russia, putting into effect a complex policy that has sought to balance health concerns with politics, diplomacy, and the desperate need for tourism revenue. The list of nations that EU countries have approved includes Australia, Canada, and New Zealand, while travelers from China will be permitted if China reciprocates. The plan was drawn up based on health criteria, and EU officials went to great lengths to appear apolitical in their choices, but the decision to leave the United States off the list — lumping it with Brazil and Russia — was a high-profile rebuke of the Trump administration’s handling of the coronavirus crisis....."
As Vickie Nuland once famously said, "F**k the EU."
Also see:
"Australia’s second-largest city will lock down dozens of suburbs for a month in a bid to contain the spread of the coronavirus. Victoria state Premier Daniel Andrews said on Tuesday 233 positive tests for COVID-19 in Melbourne since Thursday was unacceptably high. Andrews announced 36 suburbs in which residents will be required to stay at home from Wednesday night until July 29 except for four permitted reasons. Residents will face fines if they leave home for reasons other than to give or receive care, to exercise, to buy essentials, or to go to work or school. People who live outside those suburbs will only be allowed to enter them for the same reasons. He also announced there would be no international flights allowed into Melbourne for the next two weeks. Australia has recorded 7,734 COVID-19 cases, including 104 deaths."
Sure you want to let them in, EU?
What the fatality rate there anyway?
104 dead out of 25 million people = 0.000416.
That is a death rate of 4/10,000th of one percent.
And they are locking down for a MONTH (Wow, the video from down under that noted that social distancing techniques are straight out of the CIA's torture manual has already been removed)?
Even states that had reported improvements are starting to see the number of new cases rise, causing governors to rethink their plans to get residents back to work.
“We are now having 40-plus-thousand new cases a day. I would not be surprised if we go up to 100,000 a day if this does not turn around,” Fauci testified, adding, “I think it is important to tell you and the American public that I’m very concerned because it could get very bad.”
Shove it, "doctor."

If at first you don't succeed, lie, lie again!
This is reaching the point of lunatic absurdity.
As to bars, he said, in his customary clipped fashion: “Outdoor better than indoor. Bars really not good. Really not good. Congregation in a bar inside is bad news. We’ve really got to stop that right now when you have areas that are surging like we see right now.”
I'll raise to toast to his demise, whenever it is, and I want to know why we can't go to the golf tournaments or baseball or football games. They are outside, and they won't be like the sweaty, droplet spewing protests of the gays and blacks the last few weeks.
What gives, "doc?"
Health officials also appeared before House lawmakers last week, when Redfield warned of a potentially crippling second wave of the virus that would coincide with flu season — a warning he reiterated Tuesday, but beyond the spike in cases, they told lawmakers they had another pressing concern: Large swaths of the American population may refuse a coronavirus vaccine once one becomes available.
So once again, they are going to WEAPONIZE the SEASONAL FLU and CALL IT COVID with mandatory vaccinations being a part of the $care I'm $ure, with the CONCERN being that WE ARE ON TO THEM!
Redfield told senators that his agency has spent about three months developing a plan to rebuild “vaccine confidence.” Senator Patty Murray of Washington, the top Democrat on the Health Committee, sounded alarmed, telling Redfield to speed up the work. “We need to see that plan,” she said. “We need to know what it is. The public needs to know what it is.”
Think of how INSANE that is!
They need to REBUILD CONFIDENCE in something that should be, if they and the pre$$ are to be believed, is SELF-EVIDENT!
Why would there be any question about the jab?
Could it be because of the SWINE FLU SCANDAL of 1976 when the same agenda of fear led to deaths and other medical problems?!
Redfield said that the CDC’s plan was being developed with Operation Warp Speed, the Trump administration’s crash vaccine program that aims to have 300 million doses of a vaccine by early next year. Officials at the Defense Department and the Department of Health and Human Services involved in that project have spent significant time discussing a public-relations campaign that will in part try to win over Americans suspicious of a coronavirus vaccine, according to a senior administration official.
Yeah, he is not coming to save us even if he could.
Why would they need a taxpayer-funded public relations campaign like in 1976 to convince those of us more than suspicious?
I guess all the vaccines have ruined the memory of Americans in addition to causing auti$m in children.
There are more than 140 vaccines being developed against the coronavirus. Seven in 10 Americans have said they would get vaccinated against the coronavirus if immunizations were free and available to everyone, according to recent polling — a number that health officials fear may not be enough to achieve “herd immunity,” a term that signifies that a vast majority of a population has protection against infection. At least 70 percent will need to be immune to the virus to reach that point, according to researchers at Johns Hopkins University.
You have to throw up your hands at this shit.
Damn sheeple would eat a bag of shit if it were free.
There sure is herd immunity here in America when it comes to stupidity. I ran into this morning while out when a women standing miles away from a register jumped away from me when I passed two feet to the side of her. So there is that.
As for the rest of the herd, you can't have it both ways. You can't tell us cases are going through the roof and asymptomatic are being diagnosed with corresponding fall in COVID fatality rate and then say no herd immunity.
It's plain ipso facto; were the opposite the case as they claim, well then it is due to their FAILED POLICY of LOCKDOWN that DENIED US HERD IMMUNITY despite the LOW DEATH RATES amongst MOST of the POPULATION!
The lockdown was more than a mistake; it has been a criminally murderous lie by evil cretins and their political minions. May they all be damned to Hell!
The official topic of Tuesday’s hearing was how to get children safely back to school, but there seemed to be no agreement on that, and no universal plan to do so. The American Academy of Pediatrics has come out strongly in favor of bringing children back to the classroom in the fall, saying in a statement that “schools are fundamental to child and adolescent development and well-being.”
Yeah, the trauma of this whole COVID-19 $camdemic has caused irreparable damage to the innocent cherubs. That's how much the protectors in government care about them.
Fauci agreed, but said each school district must make decisions based on the course of the pandemic in its area.
The Republican chairman of the Health Committee, Senator Lamar Alexander of Tennessee, prefaced his opening statement with an appeal to the president to set a better example by occasionally covering his face with a mask.
Alexander lamented that masks had “become part of the political debate,” with people’s decision about whether to wear one dependent on their views of Trump.
“The president has plenty of admirers,” Alexander said. “They would follow his lead; it would help end this political debate.”
Don't submit, Mr. President. Stand your ground.

This embarrassment was the Globe's National lead today:
"Data on financial transfers bolstered suspicions that Russia offered bounties" by Charlie Savage and Mujib Mashal New York Times, June 30, 2020
US officials intercepted electronic data showing large financial transfers from a bank account controlled by Russia’s military intelligence agency to a Taliban-linked account, which was among the evidence that supported their conclusion that Russia covertly offered bounties for killing US and coalition troops in Afghanistan, according to three officials familiar with the intelligence.
Like they are going to send to a Taliban bank account so it can be traced by US intel!
HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!!
Thank you so much, New York Times, for providing me with a much-needed laugh after so many months of anger.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Though the United States has accused Russia of providing general support to the Taliban before, analysts concluded from other intelligence that the transfers were most likely part of a bounty program that detainees described during interrogations. Investigators also identified by name numerous Afghans in a network linked to the suspected Russian operation, the officials said — including, two of them added, a man believed to have served as an intermediary for distributing some of the funds and who is now thought to be in Russia.
It was INFORMATION gained under TORTURE, and thus MEANINGLESS!
This is HORRIBLE, readers!!
The New York Times is TOTAL GARBAGE and SO IS the BO$TON GLOBE!
They are PIMPING THIS TALE of TORTURE as the TRUTH!
So the link is THOUGHT TO BE?
SIGHA-HA-HA-HA-HA!
It's NOT FUNNY, but IT IS!
The intercepts bolstered the findings gleaned from the interrogations, helping reduce an earlier disagreement among intelligence analysts and agencies over the reliability of the detainees. The disclosures further undercut White House officials’ claim that the intelligence was too uncertain to brief President Trump. In fact, the information was provided to him in his daily written brief in late February, two officials have said.
Oh, well, torture works then!
GOOD CHRIST, SAVE US from this SLOP!
Afghan officials this week described a sequence of events that dovetailed with the account of the intelligence. They said that several businessmen who transfer money through the informal “hawala” system were arrested in Afghanistan over the past six months and were suspected of being part of a ring of middlemen who operated between the Russian intelligence agency, known as the GRU, and Taliban-linked militants. The businessmen were arrested in what the officials described as sweeping raids in the north of Afghanistan, as well as in Kabul.
This stinks of yellowcake from Niger, folks. Sorry.
The White House press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, berated the Times on Tuesday after this article was published, saying that reports based on “selective leaking” disrupt intelligence gathering. She did not address or deny the facts about the intelligence assessment, saying she would not disclose classified information. On Monday, the administration invited several House Republicans to the White House to discuss the intelligence.....
I saw that hot number's passionate defense, and this all comes as Trump was due to withdraw 4,000 troops.
Coincidence?
That is all TOTAL $HIT and I should not have Reddit, readers.
What's worse is, the Globe dives right into the $teaming $wirly with an editorial.
Pa-thet-ic!!
"The Education Department left the Social Security numbers of tens of thousands of people seeking student debt relief unprotected and susceptible to a data breach for at least six months, according to people familiar with the matter. Angela Morabito, a spokeswoman for the Education Department, acknowledged the error but called it a ‘‘nonevent.’’ The data ‘‘was on the department’s secure, internal server, and there is no indication anyone outside the department could have had access to it,’’ she said. ‘‘There is also no indication anyone inside the department handled this file improperly,’’ but anyone at the federal agency, and some of its contractors, could have accessed the personally identifiable information through a shared folder before it was secured on Friday, putting thousands of people’s personal information at risk, according to internal documents obtained by The Washington Post....."

Time to scoot around the rest of the World:
"Britain gave the green light Tuesday for trials of electric scooter rental programs, as authorities look for ways to help people get moving while maintaining distance and easing pressure on public transit as pandemic lockdown restrictions ease. The Transport Department unveiled new regulations that take effect Saturday and pave the way for e-scooter rentals in Britain, helping it play catch-up with the United States and countries in Europe and Asia where they’ve operated for years. Dozens of British cities are interested in hosting a trial program, run by private companies. Legalization only applies to rentals. Under the new rules it remains illegal for e-scooters owned by individuals to be ridden on public roads in Britain, but that hasn’t stopped an increasing number of people using them. Rental e-scooters have already become a common sight in European cities like Paris and Brussels, often strewn across sidewalks."
"Slovenia’s interior minister on Tuesday stepped down in protest of an investigation against the economy minister in the procurement of medical equipment during the coronavirus outbreak. Ales Hojs said that the probe was politically motivated and directed against the center-right government of Prime Minister Janez Jansa. Hojs said the police commissioner also has resigned. Slovenian media say the police conducted house searches as part of the probe by the National Bureau of Investigation against Economy Minister Zdravko Pocivalsek and other suspects. Jansa’s coalition government took office in March after the resignation of his liberal predecessor. The new government has faced weeks of street protests that started initially after accusations of political pressure surfaced in the procurement of medical equipment. Government critics also have accused Jansa of attempts to curb media and other freedoms in the country."
They are cracking down on such things, like in Canada:
"Canada’s largest city has made masks mandatory in public indoor spaces. “You have told us you don’t want to see a repeat of what you see when you turn on your TV and see reports from the United States,’’ Toronto Mayor John Tory said. Toronto’s city council approved a bylaw, and it will come into effect July 7. Dr. Eileen de Villa, Toronto’s medical officer of health, said there is growing evidence that shows nonmedical masks can help prevent the spread of COVID-19, and she noted many cities in the United States are seeing a resurgence in cases since reopening. She said masks will help indoor spaces — most of which had been closed during the earlier stages of the pandemic — stay safe."
The TRUTH is the EXACT OPPOSITE, and certain citizen journalists up there must be beside themselves. Click on their links to stand with them and see what they have to say.
Better off heading South:
"Uruguay has become an oasis in the middle of a COVID-19 storm. Despite sharing a border with Brazil, a coronavirus epicenter, the nation hasn’t had more than 100 active cases at any point for almost a month. In all, it’s reported just 932 confirmed cases since the pandemic began and 27 deaths. Next door, Argentina has had some 62,000 cases, and in Brazil, to the north, infections have totaled a staggering 1.34 million. On Monday, Uruguay became one of the first countries in the Americas to return to most classroom learning, with the final wave of schools reopening in the capital of Montevideo. It’s part of a phased restart of the economy -- from construction sites to malls -- that started in late April. Public events like theater performances are also set to open soon. President Luis Lacalle Pou was faster to act than his regional peers, moving to close borders and issuing a voluntary lockdown less than a month after taking office on March 1."
I doubt paradise will last before they are locked down again, and have you noticed that those who stand most against this fraud (Trump, Bolsonaro, Putin) are the ones allegedly ravaged by it?
"India on Tuesday reported more than 18,000 new coronavirus cases and 400 deaths after an Indian company said it would start clinical trials of a potential vaccine. Bharat Biotech said it had received government permission to go ahead with the first two phases of clinical trials after initial studies demonstrated safety. Multiple vaccine trials are in a preclinical stage in India, and several other candidates are being tested around the world. The new infections confirmed in the past 24 hours raised India’s cases to 566,840, the fourth-highest in the world. The addition of 418 deaths raised its fatalities to more 16,000, according to India’s health ministry."
You would have thought India had learned from the last time.
Btw, that is a death rate of 0.00118 -- and they destroyed an economy over it.

"The coronavirus pandemic has changed much in the health care world since the deal was announced in June 2019, but not the rationale for the combination: to maintain the much-smaller South End center’s ability to deliver primary care, mental health care, and other services, mostly to poor and uninsured patients....."
