"Police ask for a peaceful St. Patrick's Day
With two weeks to go until St. Patrick's Day celebrations, police are already advising revelers to act responsibly. "The City of Boston in conjunction with the Boston Police Department would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone to celebrate responsibly to ensure a safe and family-friendly environment," the department said Friday in a statement on its website.

St. Patrick's Day is March 17 but the South Boston parade, which draws thousands, is March 15 at 1 p.m. Patrols will be stepped up during the weekend and officers will strictly enforce alcohol laws, police said.
