Silent Phart Tax

That's for "silent but deadly," wow!!

Always done so stealthily and sneakily by the "honest liberals" of
Taxachusetts.

"A bad excuse for a tax

.... Here in Massachusetts, the Patrick administration has talked about outfitting vehicle inspection stickers with chips to monitor mileage. In fact, 1 cent of the proposed 19-cent hike in the gas tax would go toward "innovative gas and toll solutions," such as a VMT pilot program.

See:
Patrick's Phart Chip

The gas-tax hike would avoid new tolls and MBTA rate hikes and pay for regional transit and road repairs. It shouldn't be used for "innovative solutions" that are no solutions at all.

For decades, the gasoline tax has done yeoman duty as a revenue source in Massachusetts and nationally. It could continue to do so if lawmakers would simply raise it, which they haven't in this state since 1991 and in Washington since 1993.

Yup, the pro-tax Globe is saying because the tax hasn't been raised, it's time. They sound lie a heroin addict, except for them the drug is taxpayer loot.

Neither the state nor the nation needs a new road tax - both need lawmakers with more spine.

Which we will be extracting from them like the Predator when they return home.
