"Businesses endorse 25-cent gas tax hike" by Noah Bierman, Globe Staff | March 3, 2009

Massachusetts business groups yesterday endorsed a 25-cent increase in the state gas tax.... at a media conference in downtown Boston by leaders from the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation, the Massachusetts Business Roundtable, A Better City, and NAIOP Massachusetts, a commercial real estate development association....

Yeah, the PRO-TAX GLOBE loves these PRO-TAX, PRO-BIG BUSINESS GROUPS!! They ALWAYS GET QUOTED on state budget matters; rarely do citizens.

Patrick welcomed the move....

Of course he did, the little s***!

"This coalition is profoundly out of touch with the struggles of working men and women of our state," said Senator Steven A. Baddour, a Methuen Democrat who cochairs the Legislature's transportation committee.

Senator Richard R. Tisei, the Republican leader from Wakefield, echoed Baddour's earlier comments that many supporters of a gas tax increase were "elites," and said higher gas taxes were a greater concern to smaller businesses.

Yup, and the GLOBE's position PROVES IT!

The oft-fractured business community has rarely linked arms to support higher taxes.

"I've been involved in politics in Massachusetts now for 25 years and I am honestly not sure that I can remember another time where the business community came out in such an organized way on behalf of a tax increase," said Marc D. Draisen, a former Democratic legislator and executive director of the Metropolitan Area Planning Council, which advocates a 29-cent increase.

All the MORE REASON to OPPOSE IT!

A higher gas tax might also reduce the pressure on lawmakers to raise corporate taxes....

See who our SHIT LEGISLATORS really serve -- with the SHIT MSM PROMOTING THEM all the way!!!

Yeah, the pressure from you elite shitbag looters will lessen -- as WE LOOK TO TAKE SOME HEADS OFF DOWN THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You fuckers better WAKE UP or its gonna be SHAY'S TIME AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Remember these:

The State Budget Swindle

Governor Guts State Services

Pigs at the State Trough

One notable exception to the pro-gas tax business group: Associated Industries of Massachusetts, the largest state business organization, said it opted out of the 25-cent plan because, though higher gas taxes will eventually be necessary, its members outside of Boston worry that they will not benefit....

Yeah, it is ALL ABOUT THEM when it comes to money -- as you get a HIGH, HARD, FUCK YOU from your "public servants," Bay Stater!

Then wait until you get a load of this:

Governor Deval Patrick's transportation secretary rebuked yesterday the top leadership of the state agency that operates Logan International Airport, calling for a rollback of a recently imposed $1 increase in parking fees that was adopted in a process that he said was "devoid of public input."

Related: Don't Park at MassPort

Transportation Secretary James A. Aloisi Jr. said in a letter that the Massachusetts Port Authority should look to cost-cutting measures before hitting airport users with higher fees. He criticized the agency for putting the fee hike into effect without any public notice....

Oh, seriously, this guy is PRICELESS!!

What a TRUE SHIT-SCUM this guy is!!!!!!!!!!!!

See: I Won't Buy a Boston Globe Today (second article down) and wait for what comes below!!!

Aloisi is calling for the reversal of the $1 fee increase even as he and Patrick seek to impose a separate $2 "carbon fee" to be tacked on to Logan parking rates.

How is that for CHUTZPAH?! But wait, it gets EVEN BETTER!!

Moreover, Aloisi was partially responsible for the $1 increase that he is now criticizing. He was a member of the Massport board and voted in favor on Nov. 20 when it gave the agency's executive director, Thomas Kinton Jr., blanket authority to adjust parking rates "if market demand and price tolerance dictates," board minutes show....

I say we TAR, FEATHER and toss THIS PIECE of SLIMY SCUM-SHIT into the harbor RIGHT NOW!!!!!! Patrick fired the other guy because he wasn't as covered in slime as this shitbag and couldn't operate on the hill?

Aloisi was not available for an interview last evening, his spokesman said....

Yup, ONLY TALKS to the PRESS when he can USE THEM to PUSH HIS AGENDA -- which they are all happt to drop to their kness for, right, Globe (keep reading)?!!!!!!!!

"Massport to drop parking fee hike; Patrick's office had voiced opposition" by Sean P. Murphy, Globe Staff | March 4, 2009

Under pressure from Governor Deval Patrick, the state agency that operates Logan International Airport agreed yesterday to rescind a $1 increase in parking fees it imposed just one month ago.

Powerful governer, he.... powerful governor!

The announcement by the Massachusetts Port Authority, effective Friday, marks a sharp turnaround for an agency that has long been accustomed to setting policy without intervention from the governor.

On Monday, Patrick's transportation secretary, James A. Aloisi Jr., released a letter written to Massport blasting the parking fee increase. Aloisi's letter accused Massport of hitting airport users with higher rates without first looking at trimming its $550 million budget. Aloisi also had strong words for the manner in which Massport imposed the fee hike, saying it was done "devoid of public input."

Let's see if the Globe mentions the contradictions of this slimy shit-bucket scum Aliosi! I mean, after all, HE WAS IN ON IT and VOTED FOR IT!

*********************

Massport asserted, however, that the increase was justified to make up for revenue lost because of a recession-related slowdown in air travel. Parking revenues are down about $4.2 million in the last eight months.

Yup, if there are LESS of YOU traveling the FASCIST SKIES, they will simply CHARGE YOU MORE!! That's AmeriKa!!!!!!!!

How did YOU DO LAST YEAR, readers?

"Our decision to raise the hourly parking was not done in a vacuum," the statement said. Already, the agency has let 61 positions go unfilled, about 5 percent of its employees, saving $4 million, the statement said. The agency has not trimmed its 75-member parking crew, however, and recently awarded one of its unions a 7.5 percent pay increase over two years.

Yup, wasn't done in a vacuum -- even those these looting shitters live and reside in one!

The fee rollback will be a welcomed relief for airport users, but its effect may be short-lived. Aloisi is pressing for a separate $2 "carbon" fee to be tacked onto Logan parking rates. He said that fee is intended to discourage air travelers from driving to the airport and to encourage use of public transportation. Such a proposal would require the Legislature's approval.

"We appreciate Massport's willingness to work with us to identify comprehensive transportation reforms," Aloisi's office said in a statement yesterday.

Logan's parking rates are already among the highest of airports nationally. To park for up to 3 hours, for example, drivers will pay $15 at Logan once the rates return to their preincrease level Friday. That compares with $12 at LaGuardia in New York, $12 at Los Angeles International, $11 at O'Hare in Chicago, and $4 at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International.

I'd rather swim across the ocean than ever take a plane out of Logan. Didn't that terminal let terrorists on airplanes on 9/11? Yeah, I don't want to go to a faulty, incompetent, wasteful airport like Logan -- ever. And I never have, either!

Massport gave no public notice of the rate increase, which became public only when the Globe, citing an internal memo it had obtained, reported the fee hike last week....

Somehow that doesn't seem to matter when politicians insert special perks and raises up our asses that way though, huh?

Patrick is getting closer to taking control of the board of Massport, which is a quasi-public agency with a board of gubernatorial appointees. Two seats on the seven-member board are vacant.... Filling those seats would give Patrick three appointees. Aloisi is also a voting member of the board because he is transportation secretary.

Oh, NO MENTION of the CONFLICT of INTEREST from the scumbag today, 'eh, Globe?

Hey, what's ONE MORE OMISSION from the CRAP PAPER, anyway, huh?

Yeah, they are telling you the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, right!
