Russia Regressing

Related: The Return of "Al-CIA-Duh" to Russia

Yeah, now that the attack on Iran has been called off the globe-kickers have to do something.

Or maybe it hasn't been called off and this is another way of tying up Russia so he can't help.

"Bomber kills 3 soldiers at Russia base" by Associated Press | September 6, 2010

MAKHACHKALA, Russia — A suicide car bomber killed three soldiers and wounded 32 others in an attack on a military base in Russia’s violence-plagued republic of Dagestan yesterday, officials said....

Dagestan is gripped by near-daily violence between police and soldiers and insurgents believed to be inspired by separatists in neighboring Chechnya.

The attack came almost exactly 11 years after a car bomb outside an apartment building in Buinaksk housing the families of military officers killed 64 people.

The Sept. 4, 1999, attack was the first of four apartment bombings in Russia over a two-week period that killed more than 290 people. Russian officials cited those attacks as justification for launching the second war against Chechen rebels.

Wow, does that ever carry a stench to it.

All the 1999 bombings were blamed on Chechen insurgents, who had recently launched an incursion into Dagestan to try to establish an Islamic state. But suspicions persist that the bombings were orchestrated by Russian officials to justify the beginning of that war.

Oh. like an INSIDE JOB, FALSE FLAG kind of thing, MSM!?!!

Pffft!

There was no claim of responsibility for yesterday’s bombings.

That's a telling sign right there.

"Car bomb kills 16 at Russian market; Medvedev decries ‘barbaric attack’" by Michael Schwirtz, New York Times | September 10, 2010

MOSCOW — A car loaded with explosives detonated in a central market in Russia’s restive North Caucasus region yesterday, killing at least 16 people and wounding as many as 100 in what the authorities said was most likely a suicide attack.

The blast occurred in North Ossetia, a mostly Orthodox Christian area where major acts of violence have been rare in recent years compared with majority Muslim republics in the region, like Chechnya or Dagestan, where just last weekend a suicide bomber killed three people at a military installation.

Gee, and WHO would want to PIT Christians against Muslims, huh?

This movie gets old real fast, MSM.

In the attack yesterday, a bomber set off an explosive device packed with bolts, ball bearings, and other shrapnel while sitting in a parked car close to the main entrance of the crowded central market in Vladikavkaz, the capital of North Ossetia, investigators from the prosecutor general’s office said.

Video footage showed charred human remains protruding from a car that appeared to have been torn in half by the blast. The force of the explosion blew out windows, ripped apart cars, and left a scattering of twisted metal, burnt produce, and body parts....

The police disarmed a second explosive device found near the market entrance, and Russia’s National Antiterrorist Committee warned that other bombs could be set to detonate in the vicinity, Russian media reported.

Russia’s president, Dmitry A. Medvedev, vowed to “catch the monsters and scoundrels who have committed this barbaric attack.’’

Last night, the head of the Federal Security Service, Aleksandr Bortnikov, told journalists in Vladikavkaz that three suspects had been detained, but declined to give further details.

Vladimir V. Putin, Russia’s prime minister, said the bombing, which occurred as the country’s sizable Muslim population was celebrating the end of the holy month of Ramadan, was aimed at sowing ethnic discord. He called on Russia’s Muslims to aid in the effort to quash extremism.

“Those who do this are people without souls or hearts,’’ Putin said. “For them, nothing is sacred. We expect above all the Muslim population of Russia to make a decisive contribution to this fight.’’

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, which was the deadliest to hit North Ossetia in years. Though the region has largely been spared the near daily violence typical of other areas in the North Caucasus, it has previously been the target of militants from neighboring Muslim regions....

I'm just not buying it anymore, I'm sorry.

North Ossetia was also the site of one of the most horrific terrorist attacks in Russian history. In 2004, militants from neighboring Chechnya seized a school in the city of Beslan, taking more than 1,000 hostages, including hundreds of children. More than 300 people were killed when explosions rocked the school and Russian forces raided it.

A local police source told the Interfax news agency that the car involved in yesterday’s attack had a license plate from neighboring Ingushetia, a violence-plagued region that has had a tense relationship with North Ossetia. In the early 1990s, a bloody ethnic conflict erupted in the border area between the regions.

And, of course, the Ossetias are next to Georgia on the route to Iran.

The Kremlin has struggled to contain a weakened, though still potent, insurgency in the North Caucasus that followed two wars fought in Chechnya but that specialists now say is fed by a combination of Islamic militancy, poverty, corruption, and fighting among clans.

Yeah, I just Can't Imagine who could be Assisting them, can you?

In recent years, the violence has spread from Chechnya to other regions of the North Caucasus and beyond. In March, two female suicide bombers from Dagestan attacked the Moscow subway, killing 40 people.

"Day after suicide bombing, 10 more killed in Russian region; North Caucasus militants battle with police force" by Sergey Ponomarev, Associated Press | September 11, 2010

VLADIKAVKAZ, Russia — Clashes between police and alleged militants left 10 more people dead yesterday in Russia’s volatile North Caucasus, even as stunned residents laid flowers in a square where a suicide car bombing killed 17 people and wounded more than 140 a day earlier.

Ever notice the militants the U.S. is fighting are never alleged?

Subtle tip of the hand from agenda-pushing paper.

The bombing on Thursday near the central market of Vladikavkaz, the capital of the North Ossetia republic, was the most serious attack in Russia since the March subway bombings in Moscow that killed 40 people.

Russia’s ethnically diverse North Caucasus region has been gripped by violence stemming from two separatist wars in Chechnya and fueled by poverty, rampant official corruption, and alleged extrajudicial killings, kidnappings, and torture by law enforcement officials.

Don't worry, AmeriKa; it is okay when you do it.

In the North Caucasus republic of Dagestan yesterday, the Interior Ministry said police killed four suspected militants holed up in a house in the village of Makhargi. Three police officers were killed during the battle.

Police also killed a suspected militant during a raid on a house in the town of Derbent, near the border with Azerbaijan, said a spokesman for the Interior Ministry.

A Dagestani policeman and a prison warden were also shot to death in separate attacks, ministry officials said yesterday.

The Vladikavkaz market was cordoned off yesterday and investigators combed the site for clues about Thursday’s bombing, which was so powerful that glass in nearby buildings shattered.

Flags flew at half-staff throughout the city. The area was cleaned of blood and shreds of clothing, but twisted wrecks of several cars still littered the street.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev pledged to track down the perpetrators.

The UN Security Council also condemned the attack.

There has been no public claim of responsibility for Thursday’s attack, but suspicion fell on Islamic militants.

Which is WHY I SEE Mossad or CIA!

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin met with Russia’s top Muslim cleric after the blast and said Russia’s 20 million Muslims should play a role in eradicating Islamic extremism in the nation.

What if it ain't them?

"Two officers killed in North Caucasus

MAKHACHKALA — Attacks in Russia’s volatile North Caucasus killed two police officers and wounded five, officials said yesterday. One officer was gunned down Friday on the outskirts of Makhachkala. Another was killed Friday in Nazran."

"Russia cites piracy in bid to quell dissent; Advocacy groups raided in hunt for illegal software" by Clifford J. Levy, New York Times | September 12, 2010

IRKUTSK, Russia — As the ploy grows common, the authorities are receiving pivotal assistance from an unexpected partner: Microsoft itself. In numerous politically tinged inquiries across Russia, lawyers retained by Microsoft have staunchly backed the police.

Interviews and a review of law-enforcement documents show that in recent cases, Microsoft lawyers made statements describing the company as a victim and arguing that criminal charges should be pursued. The lawyers rebuffed pleas by accused journalists and advocacy groups to refrain from working with the authorities.

"Gates expects Russia to obey treaty; Says US response would discourage stockpiling arms" by Robert Burns, Associated Press | September 9, 2010

WASHINGTON — Defense Secretary Robert Gates assured lawmakers yesterday that he expects Russia to abide by a new nuclear arms treaty, but that even if Moscow cheats it will not gain any military advantage.

Then the treaty is really worthless, isn't it?

See: Russia's Cheat and Retreat

It was just so Obama could look like he was having success, folks.

All political show!

In a newly declassified letter, Gates wrote that he and the top military leadership have concluded that Russia would not be able to achieve “militarily significant cheating’’ under the New START treaty, even if it tried....

Well, Gates is God from what I read, so....

If Russia were to exceed those limits, the Pentagon could respond by putting its doomsday submarines and bombers on higher alert and arming them with extra nuclear warheads, Gates wrote.

A war-monger's dream!

The “survivable and flexible’’ US offensive nuclear arsenal will “help deter any future Russian leaders from cheating or breakout from the treaty, should they ever have such an inclination,’’ Gates wrote....

And here we are LECTURING IRAN and OTHERS on the THREAT of NUCLEAR WEAPONS?

Yeah, the STENCH of HYPOCRISY is OVERWHELMING!

In remarks yesterday at the Council on Foreign Relations, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said that the debate over the treaty has become partisan....

Also see: Clinton's Russian Roulette

Gates’s letter to the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Senator John Kerry of Massachusetts, a Democrat, was intended to allay concerns raised by Senator John McCain at a July 20 congressional hearing. At that hearing, the Arizona Republican responded incredulously to Pentagon statements that even large-scale Russian cheating under New START was of little military concern.

Yeah, I didn't take it to well myself. I'm sick of being deceived by government and MSM.

See: Republicans Erasing Obama's Russian Victory

Kerry’s committee is scheduled to meet next week to decide whether to send the treaty to the Senate floor for a vote.

Not looking good.

The letter was distributed yesterday to other members of Kerry’s committee and other lawmakers. It originally was classified, but was declassified by the Pentagon after one paragraph was blacked out.

Translation: ANYTHING RELEASED by GOVERNMENT serves an AGENDA-PUSHING PURPOSE!
