Shootouts and Snowballs

WTF is wrong with NYC?

"Times Square panhandler killed in shoot-out with police" by Associated Press | December 11, 2009

What, no ROBBERIES, RAPES or MURDERS to solve?

"Earlier this month, police wrapped up a 30-day sting involving plainclothes officers mimicking tourists and other pedestrians. Once they were panhandled, they essentially became victims guaranteed to show up for a trial"

Yeah, the Boston cops got time to cruise the strip, bust brothels, hang out in bars, buy drugs, and worry about cellphones while ROBBERIES, RAPES, and MURDERS go UNSOLVED!!!

It is the SAME EVERYWHERE, isn't it?

NEW YORK - A plainclothes police officer chased an alleged scam artist through sidewalks crowded with holiday shoppers and tourists yesterday in the heart of Times Square, killing the suspect near a landmark Broadway hotel after a gunfight that shattered box office and gift shop windows, police said.

No one else was injured.

The 25-year-old suspect, Raymond Martinez of the Bronx, and his brother were trying to dupe tourists into buying CDs along Broadway and 46th Street just before noon when he was recognized by a sergeant who runs a task force that monitors aggressive panhandling, Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said.

So that was worth KILLING HIM?!!!!!

The officer, Sergeant Christopher Newsom, asked them for their tax identification, which allows peddlers to sell on the streets. But Martinez fled through to the Marriott Marquis hotel’s passenger drop-off area. Newsom pursued, and Martinez turned and fired with a Mac-10 9mm machine pistol that held 30 rounds; he got off two shots before it jammed, police said. The officer fired four times, striking the suspect in the chest and arms and killing him, Kelly said....

Police say Martinez and his brother, who is in custody, were working a scam in which they would approach tourists, ask them their names, then write the names on the CDs and demand payment of $10....

And this was worth the chase and killing, huh?

Sig Heil, NYC!

"3 RI cops shot in drug raid released from hospital

PROVIDENCE, R.I. --Three Providence police officers who were shot and wounded during a drug raid have been released from the hospital.

Time to LEGALIZE and TAX the stuff, sorry!

Chief Dean Esserman says the officers were clothes identifying them as Providence police when they forced their way inside a West End apartment Monday night to execute a search warrant. Esserman says Detectives Carlos Sical and Juan Robles were shot as they crossed the threshold....

Police department spokeswoman Lindsay Richardson says a 25-year-old Providence man was taken into custody.

Who was he, and why am I thinking *ewish because of the anonymity in my Zionist War Daily?

Police say more than 100 grams of crack cocaine was seized from the apartment.

"Downturn is significant, and something to cheer; Crime figures plummet during latest recession" by Devlin Barrett, Associated Press | December 22, 2009

WASHINGTON - High unemployment. More folks on food stamps. Fewer owning their homes. Yet for all the signs of recession, something is missing: more crime.

Specialists are scratching their heads over why crime has ebbed so far during this recession, making it different from other economic downturns of the past half-century.

Yeah, if you do not count CORPORATE LOOTING and WAR CRIMES!!!

Guesses include jobless folks at home keeping closer watch for thieves, or the American population just getting older, and older people commit fewer crimes. Preliminary FBI crime figures for the first half of 2009 show crime falling across the country, even at a time of high unemployment, foreclosures, and layoffs....

Property crimes fell by 6.1 percent, and violent crimes by 4.4 percent, according to the six-month data collected by the FBI. Crime rates haven’t been this low since the 1960s, and are nowhere near the peak reached in the early 1990s....

Another possible factor is that with more people home from work, it is harder for burglars to break into a home or apartment unnoticed by neighbors, he said. Rosenfeld said another possibility is that because big cities tend to have a large impact on national crime figures, those cities’ technology-driven, “smart policing’’ efforts are driving down national rates....

Oh, the TYRANNY is doing it all!!!

Now I'm wondering if the lying government's statistics are true, or just being used to justify the expanding tyranny.

The early 2009 data suggests the crime-dropping trend of 2008 is not just continuing but accelerating....

"Officer is faulted in snow fight" by Associated Press | December 22, 2009

WASHINGTON - The city’s police chief criticized a veteran detective yesterday for pulling a gun during a mass snowball fight. Authorities said the officer is on desk duty while the case is under investigation....

Hundreds of people were gathered for the snowball fight on a major street during Saturday’s snowstorm....

It sounds like fun!! Leave it to the cops to ruin it!!

Metropolitan Police Chief Cathy Lanier said she had watched video clips from the weekend confrontation and has no doubt that the off-duty officer pulled his gun after snowballs hit his personal vehicle during Saturday’s record snowfall....

Oh, he PULLED a GUN because snowballs hit his car?

And here the TYRANNICAL U.S. GOVERNMENT wants to DISARM YOU!!!
