Obama Should Return Peace Prize Over Predators in Pakistan

He is ESCALATING the STRIKES, folks!

"Drone missile barrage kills 16; US attacks in Pakistan increase" by Griff Witte and Haq Nawaz Khan, Washington Post | December 18, 2009

Not the direction I wanted him to go.

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - An unusually large barrage of missiles fired by remotely piloted US drones killed 16 people in the tribal area of North Waziristan yesterday, a possible indication that the United States plans to escalate such attacks after Pakistan declined to step up its operations there.

Yeah, SCREW SOVEREIGNTY!!!

The attacks came in a week when top US military officials visited Islamabad and asked that Pakistani authorities do more to go after insurgent groups that are based in North Waziristan but are focused on killing US troops across the border in Afghanistan.

That's why they get the CAR BOMBS and "suiciders," huh?

Pakistani officials say their military is stretched thin by an operation in South Waziristan, and that now is not the time to expand the campaign into the adjacent territory to the north. US authorities have countered that if Pakistan does not go after the groups, the United States will....

That is such a BLOODY, MASS-MURDERING WAR CRIME and SO CAVALIERLY ACCEPTED it MAKES ME SICK!

The US government does not officially acknowledge its program of drone attacks, which is its primary tool for going after militants who are based on the Pakistani side of the border. The government here officially condemns the attacks, but cooperates with the CIA in gathering intelligence to carry out the strikes.

Yup, MURDERING their OWN PEOPLE because of OUR LIES!!!

Yesterday’s attacks included one set of strikes that officials said involved 10 missiles fired from five drones - an unusually heavy concentration of firepower on a single target. Officials said 15 people died in those strikes, including a well-known Al Qaeda commander named Zuhaib al-Zahibi, while one person was killed in a separate, earlier strike.

Right, we killed another "Al-CIA-Duh" cut-out that may not even exist!

North Waziristan is the suspected home of the top Al Qaeda leadership, as well as the network of Afghan insurgent leader Siraj Haqqani, who is believed to be behind some of the most potent attacks against US troops in Afghanistan.

Haqqani the TERRORIST?

"Haqqani.... credited with introducing suicide bombing to the region.... cultivated as a "unilateral" asset of the CIA and received tens of thousands of dollars in cash for his work.... He may have had a role in expediting the escape of Osama Bin Laden.... In July 2008, CIA officials confronted Pakistan officials with evidence of ties between Inter-Services Intelligence and Haqqani. Haqqani has been accused of involvement in the 2008 Indian embassy bombing in Kabul...."

Have you had enough, readers?

The US military has made increasing use of drones in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iraq. The Pentgon said yesterday that insurgents in Iraq, using off-the-shelf software, had intercepted live video feeds from Predators, exploiting unencrypted communications links in some of the pilotless systems.

But there was never any danger!

The insurgents were able to see video of roads and buildings under US military surveillance, but were not able to take control of the drones or alter their course, officials said, confirming a report in The Wall Street Journal. Officials said the problem has been fixed but did not say how....

Which means it hasn't been fixed!

They didn't even care about the problem until now.

News of the attacks broke as Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, a US ally, faced new challenges to his authority....

Yesterday, the president was met with growing calls to resign from opposition politicians, and analysts said his position is increasingly precarious. Top deputies in his government are also under threat....

Expect a SUICIDE ATTACK SOON!!

The interior minister, Rehman Malik, was on the list, as was defense minister Ahmed Mukhtar, who called local television stations late Thursday night to say he had been barred from boarding a flight to China. Zardari, who has denied any wrongdoing, was reportedly not on the list, but the travel ban for top officials will make it difficult for his government to function.

Yeah, THIS is a SERIOUS MESSAGE to the U.S.

STOP MEDDLING in PAKISTAN'S POLITICS!!!

And AS EXPECTED!

"Suicide bomb in Pakistan leaves 10 dead; Police among victims of blast near mosque" by Munir Ahmad, Associated Press | December 19, 2009

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - A suicide attacker set off a powerful bomb outside a mosque in northwestern Pakistan just after police officers had finished their Friday prayers, killing 10 people. The attack was the second against a mosque used by security forces in two weeks.

No group has taken responsibility for the bombing that also wounded 25 people in Lower Dir region, but the Taliban has carried out similar attacks throughout the country.... Taliban militants have stepped up their campaign of violence inside Pakistan since the military launched a major offensive in mid-October in the militant stronghold of South Waziristan near the Afghan border.

You know, I read this MSM background paragraph of regurgitated propaganda and I'm just so sick of s***.

The bombing came as pressure increased on senior Pakistani officials facing corruption charges following the Supreme Court’s decision to strike down an amnesty issued by former President Pervez Musharraf. The ensuing political turmoil threatens to distract the government from its fight against militants.

Yeah, ISN'T the TIMING grand?!! CUI BONO?

That scenario is a major concern to the Obama administration, which has not only pressed Pakistan to continue its offensive against militants threatening the state, but also to expand its operations to target Taliban and Al Qaeda fighters launching cross-border attacks against coalition troops in Afghanistan. The United States has also increased drone missile strikes in Pakistan’s lawless tribal area near the Afghan border, including one yesterday against a house in North Waziristan that killed six suspected militants, said intelligence officials, speaking on condition of anonymity. It was the third such attack in 24 hours.

You know, it is NOT LAWLESS, it is just a DIFFERENT KIND of LAW, Muslim-hating Zionist MSM!

Lower Dir is next to the Swat Valley, which Pakistani soldiers wrested from the Taliban earlier this year. But periodic attacks have continued in the region and elsewhere in Pakistan, many against the country’s security forces.

Translation: These offensives are UNENDING -- despite what the MSM says!!

Despite the wave of violence, which has killed more than 500 people in the last two months, the Pakistani military has vowed to continue its offensive in South Waziristan and crack down on other militants who threaten the state.

Well, "the army reported it had killed 589 militants so far."

Why does that remain unmentioned, Glob?

But political turmoil surrounding the Supreme Court’s decision Wednesday to strike down the amnesty issued by Musharraf threatens to distract the government from the fight....

Which means U.S. troops will be needed inside Pakistan (in addition to the contractors crawling all over the place).

Anti-corruption courts across the country issued summons yesterday to more than 100 suspects, including Interior Minister Rehman Malik, presidential secretary Salman Farooqi and chairman of the ruling Pakistan People’s Party, Jahangir Badr, said court officials.

The summons was issued a day after the Interior Ministry released a list of nearly 250 officials, including Malik and Defense Minister Ahmed Mukhtar, who were barred from leaving the country following the Supreme Court’s decision. Immigration officials stopped Mukhtar from boarding a plane to China on Thursday, a decision criticized by Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani. He suspended the secretary of the interior, Qamar Zaman, yesterday and ordered a formal inquiry. “Stopping the defense minister from going on an official trip to a very friendly country brought a bad name to the country,’’ Gilani told reporters.

Hey, rank corruption will do that!

So will MASS MURDER of YOUR OWN PEOPLE!

US-allied President Asif Ali Zardari and several of his key aides are among those who benefited from the amnesty deal. Zardari is protected by constitutional immunity from any criminal prosecution, but opponents say they plan to challenge his eligibility for office.

And what will the U.S. do then?

BoldDrop more missiles on them or invade and occupy?

Why do you think all those troops were sent to Afghanistan, hmmmmm?
