“You must speak the language of money to understand how to use it to your own advantage.’’
Do you see anything like that here?
I want a pristine site that is ONLY MY VIEW, MY PLATFORM, not a POLLUTED SITE with AGENDAS BEING PROMOTED and PUSHED!
Wow, double-whammy for me in the NWO.
But don't worry, be happy....
“Things are getting back to normal? What if normal is the problem? The US economy is more shackled than ever to a military budget (a $700 billion bailout every year), which is money spent, for all its benefits, on death. Why is the gulf between haves and have-nots still the normal structure of economic order - or is that what our military budget aims to protect against?’’
That's the Glob's resident, antiwar liberal.
But he's not the only one raising halfhearted questions about the cultural militarism in which we are immersed:
"The bullying allegations are an unpleasant wrinkle in what had been a generally popular move to bring women into traditionally male military roles"
Maybe not such a good idea, huh?
And something I shy away from more and more as the Globe saturates its pages with the, for lack of a better term, perverted pornography:
"Sowell, 50, hasn’t been charged in the rape investigation or in connection with the bodies. He was a registered sex offender"
WTF?

BARCELONA - global warming....
PFFFFFFFFFTTTTTTTT!
Stop looking like fools, newspapers, unless you really want to sink to the bottom and forever rest.
The negotiating round in Barcelona is meant to prepare the text of a pact to be adopted at a major UN conference next month in Copenhagen....
Yes, the GLOBAL GOVERNMENT AGREEMENT, yes, I've seen the commentary on the blogs.
Delegates to the Barcelona talks were showing frustration that after two years of talks, the United States has been unable to make firm commitments because it is waiting for Congress to enact legislation....
I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you guys.
PFFFFFFFFFTTT!
Actually, I retract that last statement.

"Adrift in an ocean of complexity" by Lou Ureneck | November 2, 2009
DO WE as a nation have the time and tools to be good citizens?
Here I am, trying as hard as I can.
We seem to have drifted into lives that are submerged in the ever-more-difficult tasks of earning a living, paying our bills, and struggling with the complexities of modern life. The important work of being informed about public issues has been crowded out of our lives at the very time that big money has found a way to insinuate itself into nearly every cavity of government....
**********************In a sense we have outsourced our responsibilities as citizens to experts, politicians, and industry insiders.
I don't know who he is talking about, do you?
The problem that journalism is trying to solve is how to provide people with the information they need for self-government, for citizenship.
Then THEY HAVE FAILED MISERABLY -- and the circulation figures prove it!
The problem has been made more complex by the Internet, which has opened enormous opportunities for debate and deliberation, important elements of citizenship, even as it has eroded the financial underpinnings of the professional press.
The "professional press'" LIES did NOT HELP at all!!!
In journalism today, we are experiencing a market failure - there is a public demand for quality journalism and a clear need for it, but the market has not found a way yet to support it online....
YES IT HAS! They are CALLED BLOGS that are BEATING YOUR BUTTS because YOU LIE (or self-delude, same thing).
In a recent study, “The Reconstruction of American Journalism,’’ journalists Len Downie and Michael Schudson open a door to a public subsidy for journalism.
Otherwise known as a BAILOUT!
A model might be the BBC, which is supported by a tax on television sales. It is a bold suggestion, for sure, but with the stakes this high, it is worth consideration.
Yeah, a NEW TAX as a SOLUTION here in Massachusetts. What a stunner.
Journalism is one of the tools necessary for citizenship. Whatever the source - a newspaper, television, or their digital surrogate, the Internet - citizens need trustworthy information to participate in their own governance.
That is why I TOSS IN PLENTY of OTHER LINKS NOW!

Whether help for the industry rests with some public financial support, it is clear that we as a nation have a stake in the flow of public affairs and accountability journalism. As a study commission of the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation has put it, journalism “is as vital to the healthy functioning of communities as clean air, safe streets, good schools, and public health.’’ Or, in the words of Sandel: “The newspaper is perhaps the most important instrument of civic education, because that is the way citizens learn what’s at stake.’’
So WHY DIDN'T HE QUOTE GANDHI, huh?
"Without a paper – a journal of some kind– you cannot unite a community. You belong to a very important profession." -- Mahatma Gandhi
