Corzine Grasping For Obama's Coattails

Except he DOES NOT HAVE ANY!

"Asked if an appearance by
Obama would make them more likely to vote for Governor Jon Corzine, the Democratic incumbent, nearly three-quarters of state voters polled said no"

A DROWNING MAN will ALWAYS grab an ANCHOR!

"Obama presses for Corzine in N.J." by Philip Elliott, Associated Press | November 2, 2009

CAMDEN, N.J. - In a final campaign swing on behalf of the only governor seeking reelection this fall, President Obama yesterday pitched Democrat Jon Corzine’s bid as a key component for the White House to make good on its political promises....

The closely fought New Jersey race might provide a much-needed win for Obama and the Democratic Party, which trails in the nation’s only other governor’s race on the ballot tomorrow.

Why? I keep hearing how unpopular Repugs are so why the trouble?

Virginia appears to be heading in favor of Republican Bob McDonnell. White House aides are bracing for Democrat Creigh Deeds’s loss and already are girding for criticism that Obama did not do enough to help what they describe as a flawed candidate. Obama, who drew 5,500 people at a rally in Camden and another 11,000 later in Newark yesterday, urged supporters to work hard to give Corzine another term in office so that he can work with Washington to help repair a brittle economy. A Corzine loss would be seen as a political embarrassment for the White House....

The race is seen as a tossup, and a Monmouth University/Gannett New Jersey Poll released yesterday found GOP candidate Chris Christie backed by 43 percent of likely voters and Corzine by 42 percent....

I think OBAMA JUST SWUNG it the OTHER WAY -- in favor of the GOP!!

Obama.... during a raucous campaign stop in Camden:

There seems to be some selective memory going on here.’’

What, he reading a newspaper?

Corzine, entering the final push of his close re-election bid, wrapped himself in Obama’s brand....

I was wondering what stunk.

Corzine said:

Today I am standing with President Obama. That tells you everything you need to know.’’

Yup. Vote Christie.

Obama’s team already is looking ahead to next year’s election. In 2010, 37 governorships will be up for grabs and more than a third of the Senate is on the ballot with every member of the House. On Wednesday, Obama will head to Wisconsin, which will elect a governor next year.

So WHAT ABOUT the CARBON FOOTPRINT and the TAXPAYER DIME?

Obama aides are realistic about Deeds’s seemingly slim chances in a state that Obama won last November. That hard-fought presidential victory was especially prized because Virginia had been reliably Republican in national races. Although the White House has sought to portray both the New Jersey and Virginia governor’s races as routine, by sundown yesterday, Obama had attended five events for Corzine. His schedule almost returned to campaign mode in hopes that Obama could help steady his party’s fortunes.

If HE was SO POPULAR and the DEMOCRATS PROGRAMS so popular this WOULD BE of NO CONCERN!

Democrats wanted to avoid having the Virginia race seen as a test of Obama.... Instead, the White House chose New Jersey as the final destination for Obama’s political travel this cycle.

Easier to rig the voting machines?

It borders presidential must-win Pennsylvania; Air Force One landed in Philadelphia to deliver Obama to Camden yesterday.

Yeah, NO CONCERN about the CARBON FOOTPRINT there, huh?

Good!

WASHINGTON - A GOP sweep would be a setback for Democrats. It could be seen as a negative measure of President Obama’s standing and could signal trouble ahead as he seeks to get moderate Democratic lawmakers behind his legislative agenda and protect Democratic majorities in Congress next fall.

Oh, THEY SHOULD BE WORRIED!

TOSS the BUMS OUT, ALL of 'EM!!!!

FLIP 'EM ALL, even Dr. Paul!!!!!!!!! He'll understand!

And THERE YOU GO being TAKEN FOR GRANTED of by your OWN PARTY, liberals!

Yesterday, New Jersey’s candidates for governor darted through the state on the last day of a campaign being billed as a vote on Obama’s popularity. Obama has made five appearances in New Jersey to make his case for Jon Corzine, the only Democratic governor seeking reelection, who is facing a tough challenge from Christie, a former prosecutor.

And THREE-QUARTERS of the OVER-TAXED VOTING PUBLIC said NO THANKS!

Republicans have not won statewide in New Jersey in a dozen years. Polls show the race a tossup heading into today, and a victory would sting the president in a state he carried by 15 percentage points a year ago.

Then I WOULD SAY REPUBLICANS WON either way!

Third-party candidate Chris Daggett, a former Environmental Protection Agency administrator, could influence the outcome.

Why no FORMER PARTY DESIGNATION, MSM?

I SMELL a RIGGING and I SEE DEMOCRATS CHEERING on the NEWS TOMORROW!!

Heeeeeeeyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!

While Obama urged 11,000 cheering supporters Sunday to give Corzine the same level of commitment given him, Christie has also sought to tap into Obama’s support, suggesting that he is the candidate who will bring change to New Jersey. The only other governor’s race this year, in Virginia, appears to be headed for a Republican victory....

Now THAT is the KIND of CHANGE I want to SEE RIGHT NOW!

***********************************

Viewed from the other side....

for Republicans, an election win of any size today would be a blessing.

I'm sorry, but THAT DOES NOT JIBE with the ABOVE PIECE!

If WHAT DEMOCRAPS were DOING was POPULAR they would NOT BE IN SUCH POOR PUBLIC FAVOR!

The DEMS will be the LUCKY ONES to WIN ONE (sans a rigging!)

But

EXACTLY!!!!

victories in Virginia, New Jersey, or elsewhere won’t erase enormous obstacles the party faces heading into a 2010 midterm election year when control of Congress and statehouses from coast to coast will be up for grabs. Republicans still have a long way to go because of their party’s own fundamental problems - divisions over the path forward, the lack of a national leader, and a shrinking base in a changing nation.

Is this the MSM NARRATIVE I'm GETTING TODAY?

(Stay tuned for finger-check for MSM wind-blowing tomorrow, folks)

Ever here of RON PAUL, fellow Repugs?

(Woah, duck like Bush; shoe in-coming!!!!)

The GOP would overcome none of those hurdles should Republican Bob McDonnell win the Virginia governor’s race, Chris Christie emerge victorious in the New Jersey governor’s contest, or conservative Doug Hoffman triumph in a hotly contested special congressional election in upstate New York.

Yup, EVEN if REPUBLICANS SWEEP it is STILL a LOSS!!

Can you BE ANY MORE BIASED, "liberal" AmeriKan MSM?

Still

OF COURSE! A "still!"

one or more wins would give the Republicans a jolt, and a reason to rally in the coming months.

We ALREADY ARE and ALREADY DO!

Victories certainly would help with grassroots fund-raising and candidate recruiting.

And YET they tell me DEMOCRATS are HUNG OVER and NOT MOTIVATED!

Doesn't make sense!

And they might just be enough to reinvigorate a party that controlled Washington through much of this decade, only to lose control of Congress in 2006 and then the White House in 2008.

Yeah, WE THOUGHT WE WERE GETTING CHANGE!

We did, BUT it was FOR the WORSE!!

Proof of the GOP divide is in the special election in New York’s 23d Congressional District. Potential 2012 presidential hopefuls trying to solidify their conservative credentials, Sarah Palin and Tim Pawlenty, endorsed Hoffman, a conservative third-party upstart, over the GOP-chosen candidate, moderate Dierdre Scozzafava.

Might as well CALL here a DEMOCRAP then!

Badly trailing in polls, she dropped out over the weekend and - in a slap at the GOP - endorsed Democrat Bill Owens.

And THUS, a SLAP AT US!

While downplaying whether today’s races are a referendum on Obama, the White House is suggesting that the New York race shows that hard-liners are taking over the GOP and that the trend will affect the 2010 elections.

What a tale of TWO ARTICLES and TWO TALES WITHIN this article, huh, readers?

So LIBERAL DEMOCRATS on the "other end" are SOFT-LINERS?

Oh, Barney!

Yeah, they go limp pretty quick.

Indeed, there are similar tensions in Senate primaries in Florida, California, and elsewhere, where conservatives are challenging establishment-backed candidates.

DUMP EVERY DAMN ONE of the ESTABLISHMENT and INCUMBENT CANDIDATES!!! EVERY SINGLE ONE!

At an Owens rally yesterday in Watertown, N.Y., Vice President Joe Biden said conservatives’ view is narrow and a reflection of failed Bush-Cheney policies, espousing a philosophy that “you are either absolutely right or morally wrong.’’

And THAT is why Obama's POLLS STINK!

Because THERE HAS BEEN NO CHANGE!

“We need to bring people together, not divide them,’’ Biden said.

I AGREE WITH THAT, Joe, because WE ARE TOGETHER!

END the WARS, NO MORE LOOTING, 'er, BAILOUTS, and GIVE US SINGLE-PAYER HEALTHCARE (for starters)!!!

“This is a place . . . where people have strong views but not closed minds.’’

Oh, FOUND a GAGGLE of LIBERALS, did you, Joe?
